Technical Performance
The Team Associated TC7.2 Bulkheads represent quality engineering in chassis component design. As structural elements of the TC7.2 platform, these bulkheads are manufactured to maintain precise dimensional tolerances that ensure your suspension geometry remains correct and your steering response stays predictable. The TC7.2 is a respected 1/10 scale 2WD buggy platform that has been a staple of UK RC racing and recreational use for many competitors and enthusiasts alike. These bulkheads are critical to maintaining the vehicle's handling characteristics, as even minor misalignment or chassis flex can significantly impact performance on the track. The genuine Team Associated construction ensures that the bulkheads will withstand the demands of competitive racing, whether you're running on asphalt circuits, loose dirt surfaces, or mixed terrain. By maintaining original chassis alignment and rigidity, these components help ensure that any suspension tuning adjustments you've made continue to work as intended, and that your vehicle handles consistently from run to run. The importance of using genuine components becomes apparent when you consider that even small variations in component quality can affect the precision of your chassis setup and ultimately your lap times.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are bulkheads and why do I need them for my TC7.2? — Bulkheads are structural chassis components that form the mounting points for suspension elements and provide rigidity to the chassis frame. They prevent chassis flex, maintain suspension geometry, and ensure your steering and handling characteristics remain predictable and consistent. If your bulkheads become damaged or bent in a crash, or if they wear out from extended use, your TC7.2's handling will suffer significantly, making them essential wear items for any RC racer.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are authentic original Team Associated components, not aftermarket replacements. The part number AS31800 is the official Team Associated designation for TC7.2 bulkheads, ensuring perfect compatibility and quality standards that match factory specifications.
- Will these fit my TC7.2 without modification? — Absolutely. These bulkheads are specifically engineered for the TC7.2 platform and require no modifications or adjustment for installation. They simply bolt in place as direct replacements for damaged or worn components.
- How do I know if my bulkheads need replacing? — If your TC7.2 has been in a significant crash, you should inspect the bulkheads for cracks, bending, or warping. Even small bends can affect alignment. Additionally, if you notice unpredictable handling, inconsistent steering response, or your chassis feels loose or wobbly, worn bulkheads might be the culprit. Regular inspection during routine maintenance is a good practice for competitive racers.
- Can I use these bulkheads for repairs or as preventative spares? — These bulkheads are perfect for both purposes. You can use them immediately to repair a damaged chassis, or you can stock them as spares so you always have them available when needed. Having quality spare parts on hand is essential for racers who want to minimise downtime.
- What tools do I need to install these bulkheads? — The installation process is straightforward and typically requires only basic RC tools such as Allen keys/hex drivers and screwdrivers. Your TC7.2 manual will provide detailed assembly instructions for bulkhead installation.
