Overview

The Team Associated Apex 2 Rally Shock Shafts (AS31476) are genuine OEM replacement components designed specifically for the Apex 2 Rally conversion kit. Whether you're a dedicated rally racing enthusiast in the UK or simply maintaining your RC car collection, these factory-original shock shafts are essential spares for keeping your suspension running at peak performance. Rally driving demands precision handling across mixed surfaces, and worn shock shafts can compromise both speed and reliability on varied terrain.

These shock shafts are manufactured by Team Associated, a brand renowned for quality RC components and competitive racing vehicles. As an authorised RC car UK retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine Team Associated parts to ensure your rally conversion receives only authentic, factory-spec replacements. Routine servicing is crucial for any serious RC enthusiast, and having access to original parts helps maintain the smooth operation and consistent performance your Apex 2 Rally setup demands.

Designed for use when rebuilding or refreshing your suspension system, these shafts help preserve smooth piston movement and proper sealing within the dampers. Whether you're recovering from track wear or simply performing preventative maintenance, using original Team Associated parts supports predictable handling characteristics and reliable performance on mixed-surface rally driving conditions.

Key Features

  • Genuine Team Associated Manufacturing — These are factory-original parts manufactured by Team Associated, ensuring perfect compatibility and dependable fit with your Apex 2 Rally dampers, eliminating fitment issues or performance inconsistencies that can occur with aftermarket alternatives.
  • Designed for Suspension Servicing — The shock shafts are intended for routine maintenance and component replacement, allowing you to refresh your suspension system and restore dampers to like-new condition when performing regular servicing on your rally conversion.
  • Smooth Piston Movement Support — These shafts help maintain smooth piston movement within the shock body, which is essential for consistent damping action and responsive handling on the varied terrain surfaces encountered in rally racing.
  • Proper Sealing Preservation — Quality shock shafts contribute to maintaining proper sealing within the damper assembly, preventing fluid leakage and ensuring your suspension performance remains predictable and reliable throughout extended driving sessions.
  • Rally Conversion Compatibility — Specifically engineered for use with the Apex 2 Rally Conversion Kit (AS31933), these shafts integrate seamlessly with your existing rally setup without requiring modifications or adjustments.
  • Consistent Performance Benefits — By replacing worn shock shafts with genuine OEM components, you preserve the handling characteristics and suspension behaviour that makes your rally conversion perform at its best across mixed driving surfaces.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated Apex 2 Rally Shock Shafts represent quality precision engineering designed to meet the demanding requirements of rally conversion setups. These components are specifically engineered for the Apex 2 platform, ensuring precise tolerances and material composition that match factory specifications. The shock shafts play a critical role in the damping system, and their condition directly impacts suspension performance during mixed-surface rally driving. When shock shafts become worn through regular use, they can develop micro-scoring that affects piston movement and allows internal fluid leakage, both of which degrade handling precision. These genuine Team Associated replacements restore the original damper function, ensuring that your suspension responds predictably whether you're navigating tight rally courses or pushing through mixed terrain at competitive speeds. The manufacturing quality ensures compatibility with standard shock oils and seal assemblies, making installation straightforward during routine service intervals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these shock shafts suitable for Apex 2 Rally conversions? — Yes, these are genuine Team Associated components specifically designed for the Apex 2 Rally Conversion Kit (AS31933). They are factory-original parts engineered to match the exact specifications and tolerances required for this platform, ensuring perfect compatibility and performance.
  • When should I replace my shock shafts? — Shock shafts should be inspected during routine servicing and replaced if you notice scoring marks, pitting, or fluid leakage from your dampers. Regular maintenance intervals depend on driving frequency and terrain, but many competitive RC drivers service shocks every 5-10 hours of driving to maintain optimal performance.
  • What tools do I need to install these shock shafts? — Installation requires basic shock disassembly skills and tools. You'll need to remove the shock caps, carefully extract the worn shaft, and install the new genuine Team Associated shaft whilst ensuring all seals and internal components are properly assembled. Many UK RC shops offer shock servicing if you prefer professional installation.
  • Will these shafts improve my rally handling? — If your current shafts are worn or scored, replacing them with genuine Team Associated components will restore proper damping action and help recover the handling precision your Apex 2 Rally conversion originally provided. Smooth, undamaged shafts allow consistent piston movement and proper suspension response across mixed terrain.
  • Can I use aftermarket shock shafts instead? — Whilst aftermarket options exist, genuine Team Associated parts are engineered to factory specifications and ensure perfect compatibility with your Apex 2 Rally dampers. Original parts provide peace of mind regarding material quality, tolerances, and long-term reliability.
  • What is the difference between these and complete shock assemblies? — These shock shafts are individual replacement components for use during suspension servicing when the shaft is damaged but the rest of the damper body remains serviceable. If you need complete replacement shock absorbers, you would purchase entire shock units instead.
