Technical Performance
The Team Associated Factory Team Aluminium Turnbuckle Wrench AS1111 is manufactured from premium-grade aluminium, selected for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and durability in the demanding environment of RC vehicle maintenance. The wrench features precision engineering that ensures it fits snugly onto Team Associated turnbuckle ball ends, providing the exact mechanical advantage needed for smooth, controlled adjustments without slipping or stripping components. The aluminium material choice is significant because it resists corrosion from sweat, moisture, and outdoor conditions common in RC pit areas, whilst remaining significantly lighter than steel alternatives. Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a turnbuckle wrench used for on RC cars? — Turnbuckles are suspension adjustment components on RC vehicles that control ride height, camber, and other critical handling parameters. The wrench allows you to safely grip and rotate the turnbuckle balls to lengthen or shorten the suspension arms, enabling precise tuning of your vehicle's handling characteristics for different track conditions and driving styles. This is essential for competitive RC racing in the UK and internationally.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. While the Team Associated Factory Team Aluminium Turnbuckle Wrench is professional-grade, it's also essential for anyone learning to tune and maintain their RC car properly. Beginners benefit from having the correct tools from the start, as using the right tool makes adjustments easier and safer, preventing damage to your expensive RC components.
- What vehicles does this wrench fit? — This wrench is designed specifically for Team Associated turnbuckle systems and is compatible with the RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2, RC8B3.2e, RC8B4, RC8B4.1, RC8B4.1e, RC8B4e, RC8T3.1, RC8T3.1e, RC8T4, and RC8T4e models, as well as other vehicles that use compatible turnbuckle ball ends such as those found in the RC8B3 Rod Ends (4mm and 5mm varieties).
- Why should I choose an aluminium wrench over steel? — Aluminium offers several advantages: it's lighter for easy portability in your pit bag, it resists corrosion better than untreated steel, and it provides the same precise fit and durability as steel alternatives. The Factory Team engineers selected aluminium specifically for these benefits in the competitive RC environment.
- Can I use this wrench for other purposes? — Whilst the wrench is purpose-designed for Team Associated turnbuckles, it's not recommended for use with other brands or applications, as the fit may be imprecise and could result in stripping or damaging the turnbuckle balls on your vehicle.
- Do I need any other tools alongside this wrench? — Depending on your setup and maintenance routine, you may also want a dedicated turnbuckle wrench set or multi-tool kit, but this particular tool covers the essential turnbuckle adjustment function for Team Associated vehicles. Having the correct, purpose-designed tool prevents the need for improvisation and potential damage to your suspension components.
