Key Features
- Xpilot Stabilisation System — The integrated Xpilot gyro stabiliser provides superb stable flying characteristics even when piloted by rookie pilots, with self-stabilisation that actively compensates for wind and turbulence to keep your aircraft level and responsive during all flight phases.
- One-Key Aerobatic Function — Simply press one button and pull the stick to command the warbird to execute aerobatic flying manoeuvres smoothly and safely, making complex flying techniques accessible to pilots of all experience levels without requiring manual stabilisation control.
- Three-Level Flight Control Assistance — The 3-level flight mode system provides Beginner level with full assistance for initial learning, Intermediate level with partial assistance for developing skills, and Expert mode for manual control, allowing you to progress at your own pace as your piloting abilities improve.
- Extended Flight Duration — The efficient gearbox system provides increased thrust and power delivery whilst simultaneously optimising battery consumption, resulting in approximately 20 minutes of flight time per charge so you can enjoy extended aerial sessions.
- 2.4GHz Digital Radio Control — The 2.4GHz spread spectrum technology offers superior anti-interference capability, faster reaction speed, and minimal power consumption, with a control range of 656 feet that allows you to fly with confidence whilst maintaining precise command authority over significant distances.
- Fully Assembled Ready-To-Fly — This version arrives completely assembled and configured, eliminating assembly requirements and allowing you to get airborne within one minute of opening the box, making it perfect for pilots who want immediate flying gratification without complex preparation.
- Robust EPP Construction — The aircraft is constructed from durable EPP foam material that provides excellent impact resistance and forgiving flight characteristics, meaning minor landing incidents won't result in expensive damage, making this an ideal trainer aircraft.
- Innovative Propeller Saver — The propeller saver system protects your aircraft during hard landings and impacts, preventing expensive motor and gearbox damage by allowing the propeller to slip safely rather than transferring impact forces directly to the drivetrain.
- High-Scale Warbird Appearance — The authentic T-28 Trojan styling with accurate fuselage proportions and military colour schemes makes this aircraft visually impressive both on the ground and in the air, attracting admiration from other RC enthusiasts at the flying field.
Technical Performance
The VOLANTEXRC T-28 Trojan represents excellent engineering value, combining proven flight dynamics with modern stabilisation technology. The aircraft employs a coreless 8mm electric motor driving a 4-inch propeller, delivering responsive thrust characteristics suitable for aerobatic flying whilst maintaining energy efficiency. The integrated 6-axis gyroscopic stabilisation system continuously monitors aircraft attitude and applies corrective inputs automatically, a feature that dramatically reduces the learning curve for beginner pilots whilst still allowing expert pilots full manual control when desired. The fuselage is constructed from lightweight yet impact-resistant EPP foam, a material specifically chosen for its forgiving flight characteristics and durability during training flights. Power is supplied by a 3.7V 180mAh lithium polymer battery, which provides approximately 20 minutes of flight time following a 3-hour USB charging cycle. The 2 x 1.3-gram servo motors deliver precise control authority across elevator, rudder, and throttle channels without excessive weight penalties. The radio control system operates on the 2.4GHz frequency band with digital proportional control and three distinct flight modes, allowing more than 20 aircraft to operate simultaneously without mutual interference—ideal for group flying sessions or club activities.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the VOLANTEXRC T-28 Trojan suitable for complete beginners? — Yes, absolutely. The Xpilot stabilisation system with full beginner-mode assistance makes this aircraft exceptionally forgiving for pilots learning to fly for the first time. The 6-axis gyro constantly corrects attitude errors automatically, allowing you to focus on directional control whilst the aircraft maintains level flight. Many new pilots find that the T-28 builds confidence quickly, and the three-level flight mode system lets you progress from fully assisted flying through to manual expert mode at your own pace.
- What battery does the T-28 Trojan require and how long does it take to charge? — The aircraft comes equipped with a 3.7V 180mAh lithium polymer battery, which is the standard power source for this model class. The included USB balancing charger recharges the battery in approximately 3 hours, and you should allow sufficient charging time before each flying session. For extended flying sessions, purchasing a second battery allows you to fly continuously whilst the first battery charges.
- What flight time can I expect from the T-28 Trojan? — The efficient gearbox system and optimised motor design deliver approximately 20 minutes of flight time per fully charged battery, which represents excellent endurance for an aircraft in this size category. Flight duration may vary depending on flying style, wind conditions, and how aggressively you utilise throttle control.
- What is the control range of the 2.4GHz radio system? — The 2.4GHz spread spectrum radio system provides a control range of 656 feet (approximately 200 metres), offering sufficient distance for comfortable flying at typical RC flying fields. The digital proportional system ensures that control inputs remain responsive and accurate throughout the entire operating range.
- How long does assembly take and what tools are required? — The T-28 Trojan arrives fully assembled and ready to fly, requiring no tools or additional assembly. Simply install transmitter batteries, charge the aircraft battery, bind the transmitter and receiver, and you're ready to fly. Total preparation time is typically less than five minutes.
- Can multiple T-28 aircraft fly together without interference? — Yes. The 2.4GHz spread spectrum technology allows more than 20 aircraft to operate simultaneously without mutual interference, making this aircraft ideal for group flying sessions, training clubs, or organised events where multiple pilots fly together.
- What makes the T-28 Trojan different from other beginner RC aircraft? — The combination of authentic warbird styling with the advanced Xpilot stabilisation system sets the T-28 apart from generic trainer aircraft. You get genuine aerobatic capability, impressive visual appeal, and excellent stability assistance—making it equally suitable for beginners learning fundamentals and experienced pilots seeking capable platform with scale appearance and authentic flying characteristics.
- Is this aircraft suitable for outdoor flying in windy conditions? — Yes. The self-stabilisation characteristics of the 6-axis gyro system actively help maintain stable flight even in light windy conditions, and the responsive motor system provides sufficient power to maintain altitude and control authority. Avoid flying in strong winds until you've developed sufficient piloting experience.
