Overview
The Savox SW2210SG is a premium waterproof, high-voltage brushless digital servo engineered for demanding RC applications where reliability and performance are non-negotiable. This servo is the ideal choice for Monster Truck enthusiasts, crawler builders, and scale modellers in the UK who demand precision engineering combined with genuine waterproof protection. Whether you're running a competitive-level RC monster truck or tackling technical crawler courses, the SW2210SG delivers the torque, speed and durability that serious RC hobbyists depend on.
Built with precision steel gears and featuring a robust aluminium and nylon composite construction, this servo operates seamlessly on high-voltage 7.4V LiPo batteries without requiring an external BEC, making it a straightforward addition to any modern brushless RC car UK setup. The servo is waterproof to IP67 standards, meaning it can operate submerged in water up to three feet deep for up to 30 minutes, making it perfect for water crossings, muddy terrain, and wet weather RC bashing sessions across the UK.
Savox has engineered the SW2210SG to deliver an impressive balance of lightning-quick response times (0.11 seconds at 7.4V) and enormous torque output (40kg at 7.4V), making it suitable for high-load steering and control applications where precision matters. The servo's brushless motor technology ensures minimal heat generation, extended lifespan, and reliable performance across extended running sessions, whether you're competing or simply enjoying weekend RC fun.
Key Features
- Waterproof to IP67 Standards — This servo is fully waterproof and can operate submerged in water up to three feet deep for up to 30 minutes, making it ideal for wet weather RC car use and water-based terrain challenges. This level of water protection ensures your servo continues functioning reliably even in muddy, rainy conditions common in UK RC environments.
- High-Voltage Brushless Motor — The brushless motor technology delivers superior power efficiency, minimal heat generation, and extended operational lifespan compared to traditional brushed servos. This means more consistent performance throughout your battery pack's charge cycle and reduced maintenance requirements.
- Direct 7.4V Operation — The servo operates directly on 7.4V LiPo batteries without requiring an external BEC (Battery Elimination Circuit), simplifying your wiring and reducing component count. This makes integration into modern brushless RC setups straightforward and hassle-free.
- Precision Steel Gears — Unlike plastic gearing, the steel gears provide superior durability, reduced backlash, and the ability to handle the enormous torque loads that demanding RC applications require. Steel gears maintain their shape under stress, ensuring consistent servo response over thousands of actuation cycles.
- Exceptional Torque Output — Delivering 40kg of torque at 7.4V (45kg at 8.4V), this servo has the raw power needed to manage aggressive steering inputs on heavy RC monster trucks and crawlers, even during hard off-road driving where suspension loads are extreme.
- Lightning-Fast Response Time — At just 0.11 seconds per 60 degrees of rotation at 7.4V, this servo provides instantaneous steering response that is essential for precision steering and competitive-level RC applications. The fast response translates to more accurate control during high-speed runs or technical crawler courses.
- Precision Ball Bearings — The servo features two ball bearings that minimise friction and rotational resistance, contributing to smooth operation, reduced servo jitter, and improved durability. Ball bearings distribute rotational loads evenly, extending the servo's operational lifespan significantly.
- Aluminium and Nylon Composite Case — The housing combines lightweight aluminium construction with reinforced nylon composite for optimal strength-to-weight ratio. This design protects the internal mechanics whilst keeping the servo compact and lightweight for your RC vehicle.
- 25-Tooth Spline Output — The standardised 25-tooth spline fitment is compatible with a wide range of servo horns and control arms, giving you flexibility in servo arm selection and ensuring easy integration into most RC monster truck and crawler builds.
- Digital Control Technology — The digital architecture provides superior servo control resolution, smooth speed ramping, and improved linearity compared to analogue servos, resulting in more natural and responsive steering feel.
Technical Performance
The Savox SW2210SG represents a significant engineering achievement in high-performance servo design. At just 79 grams in weight, the servo provides an impressive power-to-weight ratio that doesn't burden your RC vehicle's handling characteristics. The compact dimensions of 40.6mm length by 20.7mm width by 42mm height allow installation in tight servo mounting locations without requiring case modifications or custom brackets.
Performance-wise, the servo delivers phenomenal speed and torque across the standard voltage range. At 7.4V, the servo achieves 40kg of torque with a 0.11-second response time per 60 degrees of rotation. Should you choose to run an 8.4V setup, performance climbs further to 45kg of torque with an even quicker 0.10-second response time, demonstrating the servo's excellent voltage scalability. This high-voltage capability makes the servo compatible with modern LiPo charging systems and capable of delivering peak performance throughout the battery's discharge cycle.
The brushless motor architecture operates with a 333Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth servo control and reducing the servo jitter that can compromise steering accuracy during precision manoeuvres. The motor draws just 180mA at 6.0V and 220mA at 7.4V under no-load conditions, making it relatively power-efficient. Stall current ratings of 6000mA at 6.0V and 7400mA at 7.4V are well within the capabilities of modern RC ESC systems, meaning the servo won't demand excessive current draw that could trip ESC thermal protection.
The servo accommodates an operating travel range of 100 degrees (corresponding to pulse widths of 1000 to 2000 microseconds), with a neutral position at 1500 microseconds. The maximum travel extends to approximately 130 degrees for applications requiring full-range movement. The pulse width range of 800 to 2200 microseconds ensures compatibility with all modern RC radio systems and provides flexibility for custom servo configuration in specialised applications.
Operating temperature range extends from -10°C to +50°C (-14°F to +122°F), ensuring reliable performance across UK weather conditions from cold winter drives to warm summer bashing sessions. Wire length of 400mm (±5mm) provides adequate servo lead length for standard mounting locations without requiring extensions. The servo is backed by a 1-year warranty from Savox, providing peace of mind on your investment in this premium control component.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Savox SW2210SG suitable for monster trucks and crawlers? — Yes, this servo is specifically engineered for Monster Truck and Crawler applications where you need substantial torque combined with fast response times. The 40kg torque output handles aggressive steering inputs on heavy vehicles, whilst the 0.11-second response time provides the precision control needed for technical terrain and competitive-level driving.
- What battery does the Savox SW2210SG require? — The servo operates directly on 7.4V LiPo batteries without needing an external BEC, making it perfect for modern brushless RC setups using 2S LiPo packs. It can also utilise 8.4V configurations for enhanced performance, delivering 45kg torque and 0.10-second response times at the higher voltage.
- Can this servo be used in wet conditions? — Absolutely. The IP67 waterproof rating means the servo can operate in water up to three feet deep for up to 30 minutes, making it ideal for water crossings, muddy terrain, and rainy weather RC bashing. This level of waterproofing is a genuine advantage for UK RC users dealing with British weather and challenging terrain.
- How fast is the Savox SW2210SG compared to other servos? — At 0.11 seconds per 60 degrees at 7.4V, this servo is genuinely quick and compares favourably to high-end competition-grade servos. The brushless motor technology contributes to this speed whilst maintaining precise control throughout the servo's operating range.
- Is the Savox SW2210SG a digital or analogue servo? — This is a digital servo, meaning it offers superior control resolution, better linearity, and smoother response compared to analogue alternatives. Digital servos like the SW2210SG provide more stable steering feel and less jitter during precision manoeuvres.
