Technical Performance

The Savox SV1270TG+ represents a quantum leap in servo engineering, combining cutting-edge technology with proven reliability. At its core sits a coreless motor, a design choice that eliminates the rotating commutator ring found in conventional servos, resulting in smoother operation with less electromagnetic interference and improved efficiency. The motor drives a sophisticated gear train featuring titanium gears—known throughout the RC industry for their superior strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to fatigue—paired strategically with aluminium components to optimise the balance between durability and servo weight. The dual ball bearing support system ensures that this gear train operates with minimal friction, allowing the servo to achieve its quoted torque specifications consistently throughout its operational life. At 7.4V (the native operating voltage for modern 2S LiPo batteries), the servo delivers a staggering 35kg of torque whilst maintaining a snappy 0.11-second response time over a 60-degree travel arc. For users operating at the lower 6.0V specification, the servo still produces a respectable 26kg of torque at 0.14 seconds per 60 degrees, providing flexibility for applications where voltage regulation is preferred. The operating temperature range of 14°F to 122°F (-10°C to 50°C) ensures reliable operation across UK seasons and most global RC environments. Under no-load conditions, the servo draws a modest 150mA at 7.4V, but when under full stall load (such as when control surfaces are held hard against mechanical stops), the current demand rises to 6800mA at 7.4V—a figure that emphasises the servo's capability to generate genuinely high mechanical output. The servo's 333 Hz refresh rate ensures rapid data transmission from your radio receiver, supporting modern digital radio protocols without lag or delay. The aluminium case provides excellent heat dissipation whilst maintaining the light weight necessary for aerial and racing applications. Wire length of 200mm provides sufficient reach for most installation scenarios, and the servo accepts pulse widths ranging from 800 to 2200 microseconds with a neutral position at 1500 microseconds, compatible with virtually all modern RC transmitters and receiver combinations used in the UK RC hobbyist community.
