Key Features
- High-Voltage Digital Operation — This servo is fully capable of HV (high-voltage) operation and is specifically designed for direct 7.4V LiPo batteries, allowing you to access maximum performance without any voltage regulation concerns. This capability means you get the full 20kg/277oz-in torque output, making it significantly more powerful than servos operating at standard 6.0V.
- Extreme Torque Output — With 20kg of torque (277oz-in) available at 7.4V, this servo delivers exceptional strength in a mini-sized package. This level of torque means it can handle heavy control surface loads and demanding applications that would challenge smaller servos, making it suitable for larger control surfaces on RC aircraft or powerful steering systems on RC cars.
- Lightning-Fast Response Time — The 0.095 second transit time (60-degree movement) ensures incredibly responsive control inputs. This rapid response is critical for precision flying, sharp steering response, and accurate control in competitive RC applications. Combined with the servo's high torque, this speed creates a servo that is both powerful and precise.
- Full Aluminium Case Construction — The complete aluminium case provides superior strength and durability compared to plastic alternatives, whilst also offering excellent heat dissipation properties. Aluminium naturally conducts heat away from the servo's internal components, helping to maintain cooler operating temperatures during extended use and extending the servo's operational lifespan.
- Metal Gear Train — This servo features a precision metal gear train throughout, providing exceptional durability against heavy use and shock loads. Metal gears are far more resistant to stripping and wear than plastic alternatives, making this servo ideal for users who demand reliability and longevity from their equipment.
- Compact Mini Size — Measuring just 35 x 15 x 30.7mm and weighing only 40 grams, this is a true mini servo that offers an exceptional power-to-size ratio. Its compact dimensions make it perfect for weight-sensitive applications like RC aircraft, whilst the small footprint means it can fit into tight spaces in any RC build.
- Coreless Motor Design — The servo utilises a coreless motor, which provides smooth, efficient operation and reduces vibration compared to cored motor designs. This results in more precise control and a smoother feel during operation.
- Multi-Application Versatility — Primarily intended for air applications, this servo is also suitable for use in specialty RC cars, RC trucks, and RC boats, making it a genuinely versatile component that can be used across multiple hobby platforms.
Technical Performance
The SV1261MG represents exceptional engineering in a compact servo format. Operating at 7.4V, it produces 20kg (277oz-in) of torque whilst completing a 60-degree movement in just 0.095 seconds—a combination that places it firmly at the top tier of mini servo performance. At the standard 6.0V operating voltage, torque drops to 15kg (208oz-in) with a speed of 0.12 seconds per 60 degrees, still respectable performance but demonstrating the benefits of running this servo at its intended 7.4V HiPo specification. The servo features a precision coreless motor paired with a metal gear train and bearings that work together to deliver reliable, durable performance even under demanding conditions. The aluminium case provides both structural strength and superior heat management—critical considerations for extended operation sessions. Running current is specified at 180mA at 7.4V with no load, whilst stall current (under maximum load) reaches 4700mA, giving builders a clear picture of power requirements for battery planning. The servo operates across a wide temperature range from -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F), making it suitable for use in varied UK climates. The 25-tooth spline output gears accept standard servo horns and control arms, whilst the 100-degree standard operating travel (adjustable to approximately 165 degrees with extended pulse width) accommodates most applications. With a refresh rate of 333Hz, the servo provides smooth, responsive control across all operating conditions.
