  • Efficient Coreless Motor — The servo is powered by a coreless motor design that delivers smooth, efficient operation with less electrical resistance than traditional motors, resulting in better battery efficiency and longer runtime between charges.

Technical Performance

The SC1268SG+ represents a significant engineering achievement in servo design, combining Savox's all-new motor and controller technology to deliver class-leading performance across every metric that matters to serious RC enthusiasts. At 7.4V operation, the servo produces 25kg of torque (347.2 ounces-inch), enough to handle heavy steering and throttle loads in competitive 1/8th scale nitro racing applications and large scale aircraft without hesitation or servo sag. The response speed of 0.11 seconds per 60 degrees at 7.4V is extremely rapid, ensuring your inputs are translated into immediate physical movement with minimal lag—critical for maintaining control precision during high-speed manoeuvres and split-second racing decisions.

The servo's construction prioritises durability and longevity under sustained operation. The unique steel gear set with dual ball bearings (2BB) is engineered to withstand shock loads and continuous operation that would damage plastic gear alternatives, whilst the 25-tooth output spline provides secure horn attachment and reliable power transmission. The servo operates across a wide temperature range from -10°C to 50°C, maintaining performance in cold winter conditions and hot summer racing environments. Its 333Hz refresh rate ensures smooth servo operation without visible stepping or jitter, whilst the 12-bit digital resolution delivers precision positioning that translates to smoother steering response and more predictable vehicle behaviour on the track.

The running current at 7.4V is 150mA under no-load conditions, whilst stall current reaches 3500mA when the servo is locked in position, making it compatible with quality RC battery systems rated for these current draws. The standard 25-tooth spline output horn is universally compatible with most RC vehicles, and the 200mm black lead wire is of adequate length for most applications whilst the colour and quality ensure professional appearance and durability. The servo's neutral position is locked at 1500 microseconds, with standard operating travel of 100 degrees (1000-2000 microseconds) and maximum travel capability of approximately 130 degrees (900-2100 microseconds), offering flexibility in setup and configuration to match different vehicle requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 'high voltage' mean and why is it better than standard servos? — High voltage operation means the servo is designed to run directly from a 7.4V LiPo battery without requiring a voltage regulator. This delivers multiple benefits: higher performance because the motor and controller are optimised for full voltage delivery, faster response times, greater torque output, improved efficiency, and simplified wiring that reduces weight and complexity in your airframe or chassis. Standard servos operating at lower regulated voltages cannot match these performance characteristics.
  • Do I need a voltage regulator to use this servo? — No, one of the key features of the SC1268SG+ is that it requires no voltage regulator. You can connect it directly to your 7.4V LiPo battery, eliminating the need for additional equipment. This makes installation simpler and improves overall system performance.
  • Is the SC1268SG+ suitable for 1/8th scale nitro racing? — Yes, absolutely. Savox specifically designed this servo for 1/8th scale nitro racing applications, where the extreme speed, power demands, and vibration from nitro engines require a servo with exceptional torque, rapid response, and durability. The all-steel gear construction, high torque output, and robust design make it ideally suited to this demanding application.
  • What is the difference between the SC1268SG+ and other Savox servos? — The SC1268SG+ features the latest high voltage technology with an all-new motor and controller that Savox has engineered specifically for superior performance. It delivers 25kg of torque at 7.4V, operates without a voltage regulator, includes four silicon seals for enhanced water protection, features an aluminium heat sink case, and includes soft start mode with Sanwa SSR compatibility on the Plus ('+') model. These improvements combine to deliver noticeably faster response, greater torque, and higher efficiency than previous generations.
  • What batteries are compatible with this servo? — The servo is designed for high voltage operation and works best with 7.4V LiPo batteries (2S LiPo). It is also compatible with 4.8V and 6.0V systems, though you will not achieve maximum performance at these lower voltages. The servo will draw 150mA running current and up to 3500mA stall current at 7.4V, so ensure your battery has adequate capacity and current rating.
  • Is this servo waterproof? — Whilst the servo includes four silicon seals providing improved water protection compared to standard servos, it is not fully waterproof. The seals provide good protection against splashes, mud, and wet grass conditions typical in outdoor RC racing, but the servo should not be submerged in water. For genuine waterproofing, consider using servo covers or protective housings in extremely wet applications.
  • What is the weight and how does it compare to standard servos? — The servo weighs just 62g (excluding wires and horns), which is typical for standard-size servos delivering this level of torque. The compact dimensions (48.0 x 20.0 x 37.2mm) mean it is no larger than standard servos, yet delivers significantly greater performance, making it an excellent space and weight-efficient choice.
  • Does this servo have dual ball bearings? — Yes, the servo features dual ball bearings (2BB) in the output gear assembly, providing smooth rotation, reduced friction, and improved longevity under sustained operation. This is a professional-grade bearing configuration found on high-end servos.
