The SAVOX HV BRUSHLESS CNC SERVO 65KG/0.13s@7.4V (Model: SAV-SB3290SG) represents a pinnacle of high-performance servo technology, engineered specifically for demanding RC applications where raw torque and responsive speed are non-negotiable. Whether you're building a competitive RC car in the UK, setting up an off-road basher, or fine-tuning a precision crawler, this high-voltage brushless servo delivers the exceptional performance characteristics that separate professional-grade setups from standard fare. Savox servos are renowned throughout the RC hobby for their versatility and reliability, catering to everything from high-speed racing to heavy-duty off-road tasks, and this model exemplifies that commitment to excellence.

This is not an entry-level servo—it's engineered for RC enthusiasts and competitors who demand the absolute best in performance, durability and precision. The brushless design eliminates the wear associated with traditional brushed motors, meaning you get consistent performance over thousands of operations without the degradation you'd experience with conventional servo technology. The high-voltage capability means this servo scales beautifully with modern LiPo battery packs, delivering maximum power and responsiveness when you need it most. For anyone serious about their RC car UK hobby, whether that's circuit racing, bashing, or technical rock crawling, this servo should be on your shortlist.

Built with a full aluminium case and featuring CNC precision manufacturing, the SAV-SB3290SG combines industrial-grade construction with the latest servo technology. The 25-tooth spline horn fitment means compatibility with a vast range of servo arms and accessories across the RC community. Savox has engineered this model with the new Soft Start Mode and Sanwa SSR compatibility as standard features, giving you flexibility in radio system integration and smoother control characteristics that protect your drivetrain during startup.

Key Features

  • High-Voltage Brushless Motor Design — The brushless motor technology eliminates brush wear and delivers consistent torque throughout the servo's lifespan, meaning you're not dealing with performance degradation over time like you would with a brushed servo. This is critical for competitive RC racing or any application where reliability matters.
  • 65kg Torque at 7.4V — This exceptional torque output (equivalent to 902.7 oz/in) gives you the raw power needed to control heavy steering loads, aggressive throttle inputs, and demanding terrain without servo stalling or lag. This makes it ideal for larger RC vehicles or those carrying heavier payloads.
  • 0.13 Second Speed at 7.4V — Lightning-fast response times mean your steering and throttle inputs are executed immediately, critical for competitive racing where milliseconds separate winners from second place. This speed translates directly to better handling precision and control authority.
  • Full Aluminium Case Construction — The rigid aluminium housing provides superior structural integrity compared to plastic cases, resisting deformation under load and providing better heat dissipation to keep the servo running cool even during extended sessions or intense competition.
  • Water Resistant Design — Whether you're running in wet conditions, through muddy terrain, or dealing with rain during outdoor RC events, the water-resistant construction protects internal components from moisture ingress, extending the servo's operational lifespan and reliability in challenging conditions.
  • 3BB Bearing System — Three ball bearings provide smooth, low-friction shaft rotation and lateral support, which means precision steering response, reduced dead band, and improved overall control feel compared to single or dual bearing designs.
  • 25-Tooth Steel Spline — The robust steel spline gear ensures secure horn fitment whilst the 25-tooth specification provides broad compatibility across the RC industry, meaning you can easily source replacement horns and arms from multiple suppliers.
  • Soft Start Mode — This intelligent feature prevents the sudden mechanical shock that occurs when servos are powered up at full torque, protecting your servo gearing and your vehicle's transmission from damage during startup.
  • Sanwa SSR Compatibility — Native compatibility with Sanwa SSR radio systems gives you seamless integration with professional-grade radio equipment, expanding your setup options and ensuring optimal communication between transmitter and servo.
  • Unique Steel Gear Construction — Metal gears throughout the servo's internal mechanism guarantee durability under extreme loads and continuous operation, eliminating the gear stripping issues that plague plastic-geared servos in high-torque applications.
  • Operating Voltage Range 6.0V-8.4V — The wide voltage range provides flexibility with different battery configurations, allowing you to tune power and speed characteristics to match your specific application needs. Run 2S LiPo safely at the lower voltages, or push maximum performance with higher voltage packs.

Technical Performance

The SAVOX SAV-SB3290SG is engineered from the ground up as a high-performance servo for serious RC enthusiasts. The brushless motor architecture represents a significant technological leap over brushed designs, offering superior reliability and consistent output across thousands of operating cycles without performance degradation. At 7.4V (the sweet spot for modern 2S LiPo batteries commonly used in RC cars UK), this servo delivers an impressive 65kg of torque with a response time of just 0.13 seconds per 60 degrees of rotation—specifications that place it among the fastest and most powerful servos available at standard servo size. Even more impressively, when you step up to 8.4V (easily achievable with premium LiPo cells or dual 2S packs in series), torque climbs to an exceptional 75kg whilst speed improves to 0.11 seconds, making this servo genuinely viable for competitive racing environments where every fraction of a second counts. The full aluminium case isn't merely cosmetic; it provides rigid structural support that prevents deformation under the enormous lateral forces generated during hard cornering, whilst simultaneously offering superior thermal management compared to plastic housings. The servo's compact dimensions (40.3 x 20.2 x 38.7mm) and modest 72-gram weight mean installation is straightforward in most vehicles without requiring extensive modifications. The 3BB bearing system ensures that the servo's internal shaft rotates with minimal friction, translating to precise, lag-free control response that competitive drivers and off-road racers demand. The unique steel gear construction throughout the servo's gearbox means you're protected against the catastrophic gear stripping that can occur in plastic-geared designs when subjected to the enormous torque loads this servo is capable of producing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What voltage should I run this servo at for maximum performance? — The SAVOX SB3290SG operates across 6.0V to 8.4V, with performance scaling directly to input voltage. At 6.0V, you get 722.1 oz/in of torque and 0.16-second response time; at 7.4V (standard 2S LiPo), you achieve 902.7 oz/in and 0.13-second speed; at the maximum 8.4V, you unlock 1041.6 oz/in and 0.11-second response. Most users find 7.4V offers the perfect balance of power and speed, but if you're running voltage-capable electronics, pushing to 8.4V gives you genuine competitive advantage.
  • Is this servo suitable for high-speed RC racing applications? — Absolutely. The 0.13-second response time at 7.4V (improving to 0.11 seconds at 8.4V) places this servo in the high-performance category used by competitive racers. The brushless motor technology ensures you're getting consistent speed throughout long sessions without the lag that develops with brushed servos as they wear. If you're running a brushless RC car UK setup, this servo matches that commitment to cutting-edge technology.
  • What makes this different from standard plastic-case servos? — The SAV-SB3290SG features a full aluminium case rather than plastic, which provides superior structural rigidity, better heat dissipation, and resistance to deformation under extreme loads. Combined with the brushless motor, metal gears, and 3BB bearing system, you're getting industrial-grade construction rather than budget servo compromises. The water-resistant design also means reliability in conditions where standard servos would fail.
