- Full Aluminium Case — The servo is constructed with a premium aluminium alloy case that provides excellent durability, heat dissipation and protection for the internal mechanism whilst remaining lightweight at 81 grams, making this ideal for RC applications where weight management is critical.
- Brushless Motor Technology — Unlike traditional brushed servo motors, the brushless design delivers more efficient power delivery with reduced friction, longer lifespan, and consistent performance across extended use periods, making it perfect for both casual and competitive RC enthusiasts.
- 3 Precision Ball Bearings — The servo incorporates three precision ball bearings (with 2BB specification) that ensure smooth, frictionless motion and exceptional rotational accuracy, translating to responsive steering and precise control of your RC vehicle during high-speed manoeuvres.
- Unique Steel Gears — The servo utilises specially engineered steel gears that provide superior strength and durability compared to standard plastic or composite gears, allowing the servo to handle the extreme loads and rapid directional changes demanded by high-performance RC driving.
- Up to 35% More Power — Savox's Monster performance series delivers approximately 35% more power output compared to previous generation servos, translating to faster response times, greater torque capacity and improved overall vehicle performance in demanding conditions.
- Multi-Voltage Capability — The servo operates effectively across 6V, 7.4V and 8.4V power systems, allowing you to adjust performance characteristics to match your RC vehicle's power delivery and your specific driving requirements, whether that's maximum speed or maximum torque.
- Fast Response Time — At 7.4V, the servo completes a 60-degree rotation in just 0.07 seconds, delivering rapid steering response that is essential for competitive racing and quick reactive manoeuvres in RC vehicles, especially during high-speed cornering.
- 25-Tooth Spline Output — The servo horn features a universal 25-tooth spline connection, ensuring compatibility with a vast range of RC vehicles, linkages and servo arms available in the UK RC market, making upgrades and customisation straightforward.
- High Torque Output — Delivering 31kg of torque at 7.4V and escalating to 45kg at 8.4V, the servo provides the muscular power required to operate heavy-duty steering linkages, suspension components and mechanical assemblies on demanding RC vehicles without hesitation or lag.
Technical Performance
The Savox SB2292SG represents a significant advancement in high-performance servo engineering, particularly for RC enthusiasts demanding the absolute best in speed and torque. The servo's brushless motor technology is the cornerstone of its performance advantage, utilising advanced controller electronics that optimise power delivery whilst maintaining precision and consistency. The full aluminium case construction provides both structural rigidity and effective heat dissipation, critical factors when operating at higher voltages where the servo demands more electrical current and generates additional thermal energy. At 6V, the servo delivers 22kg of torque with a response time of 0.085 seconds; at 7.4V (the optimal operating voltage for many modern LiPo systems), you get 31kg of torque with an impressive 0.07-second response time; and when powered by higher 8.4V systems, the servo reaches an exceptional 45kg of torque at 0.055 seconds. The 3 precision ball bearings ensure that all this power translates into smooth, accurate movement without slop or dead spots that could compromise vehicle handling. The servo's operating temperature range of -10°C to 50°C ensures reliable performance across all UK weather conditions, from cold winter testing sessions to hot summer racing events. Wire length is a practical 300mm (±5mm), providing sufficient routing flexibility for most RC vehicle mounting locations. The servo's 100-degree operating travel range converts to a standard 1000-2000 microsecond pulse width, with maximum travel capability of approximately 130 degrees through the 900-2100 microsecond range, offering flexibility for custom linkage setups. At just 81 grams, the weight penalty is negligible, making this servo suitable for builds where every gram of unsprung weight impacts handling characteristics. The servo's 333Hz refresh rate ensures rapid response to control inputs, essential for precision steering in competitive RC racing applications. Current draw under load (no-load running current) measures 180mA at 6.0V and 220mA at 7.4V, whilst stall current reaches 7500mA at 6.0V and 9200mA at 7.4V, figures your RC battery and speed controller must be capable of handling reliably.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What voltage should I run the Savox SB2292SG servo at for best performance? — The servo is rated for operation at 6V, 7.4V and 8.4V. For optimal performance in most RC applications, 7.4V (a standard 2S LiPo) provides an excellent balance of torque (31kg) and speed (0.07 seconds), whilst 8.4V (3S or suitable BEC output) delivers maximum power of 45kg torque if your system can handle the higher current draw. Many UK RC enthusiasts use 7.4V systems as the sweet spot for reliability and performance.
- Is this servo suitable for beginners? — The Savox SB2292SG is primarily designed for experienced RC users and competitive drivers who understand servo specifications and have suitable power systems available. Beginners may find this servo's power and response characteristics challenging to tune effectively in starter vehicles. Beginners are typically better served by standard-speed servos, though upgrading to this servo becomes worthwhile as driving skills improve and RC vehicles become more sophisticated.
- Can I use this servo with my existing RC car or truck? — The servo features a universal 25-tooth spline output, which is compatible with most modern RC vehicles available in the UK market. However, you should verify that your vehicle's steering system is designed to accommodate the servo's torque output (31kg minimum) and that your power system can deliver the required current (up to 9.2A stall current at 7.4V). Check your RC vehicle's specifications or manufacturer recommendations before upgrading.
- What is the difference between this servo and standard brushed servos? — The Savox SB2292SG uses brushless motor technology, which delivers approximately 35% more power output compared to equivalent brushed servo designs. Brushless servos offer superior efficiency, reduced electrical noise, longer lifespan due to eliminated brush wear, and more consistent performance across voltage ranges. For competitive RC racing and high-performance applications, brushless servos represent the modern standard and deliver tangible performance advantages that translate to faster lap times and improved vehicle control.
- What is the operating temperature range? — The servo operates reliably between -10°C and 50°C (-14°F to 122°F), covering the full spectrum of UK weather conditions from cold winter months through warm summer periods. This temperature range ensures the servo maintains performance stability whether testing indoors in heated facilities or racing outdoors in variable British weather.
- Can I use this servo for crawling or rock crawling applications? — Whilst the servo's 31kg torque at 7.4V is substantial, rock crawling applications typically require maximum torque servos in the 35kg+ range operating at higher voltages. However, the SB2292SG performs admirably for general-purpose off-road and crawling where response speed and reliability matter as much as absolute torque output. For dedicated crawling builds, consider whether a dedicated high-torque model might be more suitable.
- What warranty does this servo include? — The Savox SB2292SG is backed by a comprehensive 1-year manufacturer warranty from Savox, covering defects in materials and workmanship. Register your servo with Savox if required to ensure warranty coverage, and refer to the official Savox warranty terms for specific coverage details and exclusions.
