- CNC-Machined Aluminium Case — The durable aluminium alloy housing provides lightweight strength whilst protecting the internal components from impact and environmental stress, making the servo suitable for both on-road and off-road RC applications.
- Unique Steel Gears — Premium steel gear construction ensures exceptional durability and longevity, resisting wear and stripping during intense driving sessions and providing consistent performance season after season.
- 25-Tooth Spline Horn — The standard 25T servo horn fitment ensures broad compatibility with most modern RC cars, buggies, and trucks, simplifying installation and allowing easy integration into existing setups.
- Compact and Lightweight Design — Weighing just 79 grams with dimensions of 40.3 x 20.2 x 38.7mm, this servo maintains a low profile that minimises weight addition to your RC model whilst delivering maximum performance benefits.
Technical Performance
The Savox SB2291SG represents the pinnacle of servo engineering for competitive RC car applications throughout the UK and Europe. This brushless servo combines cutting-edge motor technology with precision mechanical construction to deliver performance that rivals servos costing significantly more. The 0.05 second transit time at 7.4V places this servo amongst the fastest available, whilst the 18kg/cm torque rating ensures adequate holding power for aggressive steering inputs and high-speed cornering manoeuvres. For those running 8.4V battery systems, performance escalates dramatically: 0.04 second response and 25kg/cm torque create a servo that feels almost telepathic in its responsiveness. The three precision ball bearings reduce friction throughout the servo's range of motion, creating smooth, jitter-free movement that translates directly to better handling and more predictable vehicle behaviour on the track. The CNC-machined aluminium case protects internal components whilst maintaining a weight-conscious design at just 79 grams. Steel gears resist stripping and maintain their tooth profile even after hundreds of hours of competition use, whilst the brushless motor design eliminates the carbon dust and wear associated with brushed alternatives, resulting in a servo that maintains consistent performance throughout its operational life. Whether you're upgrading a 1/8 on-road car, a 1/10 nitro touring vehicle, or an 1/8 EP or GP buggy, this servo delivers measurable improvements in steering response and overall vehicle control.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What makes the Savox SB2291SG faster than other servos on the market? — The servo's brushless motor technology combined with three precision ball bearings and optimised internal gear ratios creates the 0.05 second response time at 7.4V. This speed is achieved through Savox's patented brushless design which delivers up to 35% more power than competing servo motors, allowing faster acceleration through the servo's range of motion.
- Is this servo suitable for 1/8 scale buggy racing? — Yes, absolutely. The SB2291SG is specifically designed for 1/8 EP and GP buggies, as well as 1/8 on-road cars. The combination of 0.05 second response time and 18kg/cm torque at 7.4V makes it ideal for competitive buggy racing where steering precision and responsiveness directly impact lap times and consistency.
- What voltage battery should I use with this servo? — This servo is rated for use with 2S LiPo batteries (7.4V nominal voltage) and 2S HV batteries (8.4V nominal voltage). At 7.4V, it delivers 0.05 second response and 18kg/cm torque. Upgrading to an 8.4V HV battery system improves performance to 0.04 second response and 25kg/cm torque, providing noticeably faster steering response and increased holding power.
- How does the brushless motor technology benefit me? — Brushless motors eliminate the carbon brushes and commutator found in traditional brushed servo motors, resulting in significantly less friction, reduced heat generation, and extended operational lifespan. You'll experience up to 35% more power output, smoother motion, and improved reliability, particularly during intensive racing sessions where heat buildup can degrade performance in brushed alternatives.
- What servo horn fitment does this use? — The SB2291SG features a standard 25-tooth servo horn spline, ensuring broad compatibility with most modern RC cars, buggies, and trucks currently available on the UK market. Installation is straightforward and requires no adapters or modifications.
- Is this servo waterproof? — Based on available specifications, this servo features a sealed aluminium case design that provides environmental protection. However, full waterproofing specifications are not detailed in the manufacturer literature. We recommend treating it as splash-resistant rather than fully waterproof, particularly in saltwater environments.
- What is the weight of this servo? — The SB2291SG weighs just 79 grams, making it an excellent lightweight option for weight-conscious RC setups where minimising unsprung weight translates directly to improved handling and faster acceleration.
- How do I know if this servo is compatible with my RC car? — If your RC car accepts a 25-tooth servo horn and uses standard servo connectors, the SB2291SG will be compatible. This covers most modern 1/8 and 1/10 scale RC cars, buggies, and trucks manufactured in the last decade, including popular models used throughout UK racing communities.
