Overview

The Savox SAV-SB2265MG+ is a high-performance brushless digital servo engineered for serious RC car enthusiasts looking for speed, precision and reliability in a compact package. This low-profile servo represents the evolution of high-speed servo technology, delivering exceptional performance that makes it the ideal choice for 1/10 on-road racing applications and competitive RC car builds across the UK. Whether you're upgrading an existing chassis or building a new race-ready setup, this servo offers the kind of performance that competitive RC drivers demand, all wrapped in a durable, professionally-engineered package that will handle the demands of track racing and high-speed bashing alike.

Featuring brushless motor technology and high-voltage capability, the SB2265MG+ delivers lightning-fast response times and impressive torque output that translates directly into better handling and more precise steering control on the track. The servo's low-profile design makes it perfect for tight engine bays and modern RC car designs where space is at a premium, whilst the full Sanwa SSR compatibility ensures ultra-fast signal response for competitors who demand the absolute best in control precision. This is a servo built for winners—packed with professional-grade engineering in a size small enough to fit where it needs to go.

As a recognised servo manufacturer trusted by RC enthusiasts worldwide, Savox has engineered this brushless servo with the durability and performance characteristics that serious RC competitors expect. The combination of metal gearing, brushless motor reliability, and digital precision makes the SAV-SB2265MG+ an outstanding choice for anyone serious about RC car UK racing or casual high-performance driving.

Key Features

  • Brushless Motor Technology — The brushless motor design eliminates brush wear and friction, delivering smooth, consistent performance over thousands of operating hours without the maintenance requirements of traditional brushed motors, which means longer servo life and more reliable performance when you need it most.
  • Metal Gear Train — Constructed from durable steel gears rather than plastic, the metal gear train ensures exceptional durability under harsh racing conditions, high-speed manoeuvres, and the repeated stress of competitive driving, making this servo capable of handling serious punishment without stripping gears.
  • High Voltage Operation — Operating at 7.4V nominal input voltage, this servo delivers peak performance with enhanced torque and speed characteristics that exceed standard 6V servo capabilities, providing that extra edge in responsiveness and control precision that competitive drivers seek.
  • Digital Servo Technology — Full digital servo circuitry provides precise pulse-width modulation control, allowing for smoother servo movement, better centering accuracy, and more refined steering response compared to analogue alternatives.
  • Low Profile Design — The compact low-profile form factor at just 40.8mm long and 20.2mm wide fits into tight spaces within modern RC car chassis designs, allowing for optimal weight distribution and packaging efficiency without compromising on performance.
  • Sanwa SSR Compatibility — Full compatibility with Sanwa SSR (Super Serial Radio) systems ensures ultra-fast signal response and enhanced communication between your receiver and servo, critical for competitive racing where milliseconds matter.
  • Soft Start Mode — The new Plus generation features soft start mode capability, which provides gentler servo startup and reduced mechanical stress during initial power-up, extending servo lifespan and reducing shock to servo gears and linkages.
  • Long 200mm Cable — The extended 200mm servo wire (±5mm) provides flexibility in servo placement within your RC car chassis, allowing better routing and easier installation in various mounting configurations.
  • 25 Tooth Spline Output — The standard 25-tooth servo horn spline is compatible with most aftermarket servo horns and linkage systems available for 1/10 RC cars, giving you extensive customisation options.
  • Dual Ball Bearing Support — Two precision ball bearings support the servo output shaft, ensuring smooth rotation, minimal friction, reduced wear, and superior longevity compared to single-bearing designs.

Technical Performance

The Savox SAV-SB2265MG+ is engineered with precision and built for performance. At its core sits a brushless motor delivering 12.0kg-cm (166.6 oz-in) of torque at 7.4V input, with lightning-fast actuation speed of just 0.08 seconds per 60-degree rotation—making this one of the quickest-responding servos available for 1/10 on-road RC cars. The servo measures 40.8 x 20.2 x 25.4mm and weighs just 57.0g, making it genuinely compact without sacrificing power or durability. The metal gear train construction provides the toughness needed for high-speed racing, whilst the brushless motor design means you get smooth, reliable operation without brush maintenance concerns. The servo accepts 7.4V nominal input (with maximum travel achievable at expanded pulse widths of 900-2100 microseconds) and maintains a neutral position at 1500 microseconds with normal operating travel across 90 degrees (1000-2000 microseconds). Running current draws 220mA at 7.4V under no-load conditions, with stall current reaching 4600mA when fully locked, and idle current consumption of just 5mA at 7.4V, demonstrating efficient power management. The servo features a 333Hz refresh rate for smooth digital control, dual ball bearing support for the output shaft, and operates reliably across temperatures from -10°C to +50°C, covering typical UK seasonal conditions. The 25-tooth spline output gear mates with standard RC servo horns, and the servo pulse width range spans 800-2200 microseconds for full compatibility with modern radio systems and digital receivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What voltage should I run the Savox SB2265MG+ servo at? — The servo is designed to operate at 7.4V nominal input, which is the high-voltage specification that delivers the advertised 12.0kg-cm torque and 0.08-second speed performance. A standard 2S LiPo battery pack provides this voltage. The servo can also operate at 6.0V, though performance will be reduced compared to the 7.4V specification.
  • Is this servo suitable for beginners in RC car UK racing? — Whilst the SB2265MG+ is a performance-oriented servo designed for competitive drivers and experienced RC enthusiasts, it can certainly be used by beginners. However, beginners might initially find the servo's fast response speed requires some adjustment in driving technique. The servo's durability and reliability make it a solid long-term investment for anyone developing their RC driving skills.
  • What makes this servo faster than a standard servo? — The combination of brushless motor technology, digital servo electronics, and optimised internal design delivers the 0.08-second actuation speed. The brushless motor eliminates friction from brush contact, whilst the digital circuitry provides more responsive control than analogue alternatives. For 1/10 on-road cars, this translates to quicker steering response and more precise handling feedback.
  • How does this compare to other Savox models? — The SB2265MG+ is specifically engineered for high-speed, low-profile applications and represents an evolution of the SB2263MG with enhanced torque characteristics and the addition of Sanwa SSR compatibility. The low-profile form factor and extreme speed make it ideal for 1/10 on-road cars where space is limited, whereas larger Savox servos are better suited for off-road vehicles and heavier-duty applications.
  • Will this servo work with any RC radio system? — Yes, the SB2265MG+ is compatible with any standard RC radio system and digital receiver that outputs standard pulse-width modulated servo signals (800-2200 microseconds). It includes full Sanwa SSR compatibility for enhanced performance with those systems, but will work perfectly well with Spektrum, Futaba, JR and other mainstream radio brands.
  • How long will the servo last? — The brushless motor and metal gear construction mean this servo will provide many years of reliable service with proper care. Brushless motors eliminate brush wear, the primary failure point in traditional servos, and the steel gears can handle thousands of steering inputs without degradation. One-year warranty coverage backs the manufacturer's confidence in build quality.
  • What is the maximum travel available on this servo? — Standard operating travel is 90 degrees (1000-2000 microseconds pulse width), which is sufficient for steering applications in RC cars. Extended maximum travel of approximately 130 degrees is achievable with expanded pulse width commands (900-2100 microseconds), though this is not typically needed for standard racing setups.
