Overview

The SAVOX LOW PROFILE BRUSHLESS DIGITAL SERVO 10KG/0.076s@6.0V in Black Edition is a premium choice for serious RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand both performance and aesthetics. Savox have listened directly to racers' requests and engineered this limited edition servo specifically for the competitive RC racing community. With modern race vehicles increasingly sporting stealthy all-black appearances—from moulded components and carbon chassis to black aluminium accessories—racers have been searching for electronics that continue this professional theme. Savox has answered that call with this Black Edition servo, featuring a sleek black aluminium centre case with laser-etched details and an all-black outer sheath on the lead wire, ensuring your entire RC car setup looks as impressive as it performs.

This servo represents the pinnacle of brushless servo technology, combining cutting-edge engineering with practical features that make it ideal for competitive RC car racing, whether you're piloting a 1/10th sedan with ultra-narrow chassis designs or operating large-scale gliders where space is at a premium. The low-profile design delivers the reduced size and weight that modern racers demand, making it a perfect fit for vehicles where every millimetre and gram matters. When balance and weight distribution are critical to your RC car's performance, this servo excels by keeping your centre of gravity precisely where you need it.

Savox servos are renowned for their versatility and reliability across the UK RC market, and this model represents the pinnacle of their servo range. Whether you're a weekend competitor at your local RC track or a serious racer pushing for podium finishes, this Black Edition servo delivers the precision, speed, and durability you need to stay ahead of the competition.

Key Features

  • Black Aluminium Centre Case — The distinctive black aluminium construction not only delivers the stealthy aesthetic that modern RC car racers demand, but also provides superior heat dissipation, allowing the servo to maintain optimal operating temperatures even during extended racing sessions or demanding control inputs.
  • Shorter 50mm Black Shielded Lead Wire — The compact lead wire design reduces weight and bulk in your chassis, making cable management cleaner and tidier whilst allowing for more flexible servo placement options in tight spaces common in modern 1/10th sedan designs.
  • 12-Bit (4096) Digital Resolution — This exceptional resolution provides incredibly smooth and precise steering control, translating to more accurate handling characteristics and better feedback from your RC car's chassis, giving you the competitive edge in racing scenarios.
  • Titanium Gears — Titanium gearing ensures exceptional durability and longevity, meaning your servo will withstand the demanding impacts and high-speed directional changes that competitive RC racing requires, without gear stripping or failure.
  • Coreless Motor Technology — The advanced coreless motor design delivers high-speed performance with incredible efficiency and low power consumption, meaning you get faster response times whilst extending battery run time and reducing servo heat generation during races.
  • Low-Profile Form Factor — The reduced size and weight make this servo ideal for installations where space is critical, whether in large-scale gliders requiring weight savings or ultra-narrow 1/10th sedan chassis where conventional servos simply won't fit.
  • Double Ball Bearing Support — Two ball bearings provide smooth, reliable rotation and reduce friction, ensuring consistent performance throughout long racing sessions and maintaining precision steering control lap after lap.
  • Laser-Etched Details — The professional laser-etched detailing on the black case adds a premium finishing touch that complements modern RC car designs and demonstrates Savox's attention to detail in both function and form.

Technical Performance

The SAVOX SAV-SB2263MGB delivers exceptional technical performance that satisfies the demands of competitive RC car racing in the UK. Operating at 6.0V, this brushless digital servo achieves a speed specification of 0.076 seconds at 60 degrees, which translates to responsive, lightning-fast steering inputs that are essential when racing at high speeds or navigating tight technical sections of a race track. The servo generates 10kg-cm of torque at 6.0V operation, providing more than sufficient power to control your RC car's steering even under extreme cornering loads or when wrestling with high-speed directional changes. The specifications at 4.8V show a speed of 0.10 seconds at 60 degrees with 8kg-cm of torque, providing flexibility depending on your power source choice. The aluminium case body combined with the plastic case cap creates an optimal balance between strength and weight, whilst the metal gear construction (with titanium gears as the premium material) ensures durability that withstands repeated high-speed racing. The servo weighs just 48g and measures 40.8 x 20 x 25.4mm, confirming its low-profile designation and making it suitable for weight-conscious RC builds. The 25-tooth spline servo horn provides industry-standard compatibility with most RC car steering linkages. With its coreless brushless motor and 12-bit digital resolution, this servo represents the latest evolution in precision steering technology, offering the smoothness, reliability and response characteristics that serious racers expect from a premium servo when competing on UK tracks or at national championships.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this servo suitable for competitive RC car racing in the UK? — Absolutely. This servo is specifically engineered for competitive racers and delivers the speed (0.076 seconds), precision (12-bit resolution), and durability (titanium gears) that racing demands. The low-profile design is particularly popular among 1/10th sedan racers where weight and space are critical factors, making this an excellent choice for serious competitors.
  • What voltage should I run this servo at? — This servo is rated for operation between 4.8V and 6.0V. At 6.0V it delivers peak performance with 0.076 second speed and 10kg-cm torque, making 6.0V the preferred voltage for racing applications where maximum speed and response are required.
  • How much does this servo weigh? — At just 48g, this is an exceptionally lightweight servo ideal for weight-sensitive RC builds. The low-profile design combined with the coreless motor technology allows Savox to deliver this minimal weight without compromising strength or performance.
  • What makes the Black Edition different from standard Savox servos? — The Black Edition features a distinctive black aluminium centre case with laser-etched details and an all-black outer sheath on the lead wire, giving it a professional racing aesthetic that complements modern stealthy RC car designs. Beyond aesthetics, it delivers the same premium performance as other Savox servos, with the added benefit of superior heat dissipation from the aluminium case construction.
  • Is this servo waterproof or weather-resistant? — The source information does not specify waterproof or weather-resistant ratings. For use in wet conditions, additional waterproofing measures should be considered.
  • What servo horn does this come with? — The servo includes a 25-tooth spline servo horn, which is the industry standard for most RC car steering linkages, ensuring compatibility with virtually all modern RC vehicles.
  • Does the shorter lead wire affect installation? — The 50mm black shielded lead wire is intentionally shorter to reduce weight and bulk in your chassis, though it means you'll need careful cable routing. For vehicles requiring longer runs, servo extensions can be purchased separately.
  • What is the difference between brushless and brushed servos? — Brushless servos like this model use brushless motor technology, which delivers higher efficiency, faster response times, lower power consumption, and reduced heat generation compared to brushed alternatives. Brushless technology is the preferred choice for serious racers seeking maximum performance.
