Overview
The LOUISE RC 1/10 LDX Drift ARTR (LNHA101) is a purpose-built drift car designed for enthusiasts looking to master the art of RC drifting. This 1/10 scale on-road RC car arrives almost ready to run, featuring a comprehensive factory assembly that saves you time and gets you on the track quickly. Whether you're a seasoned RC racer in the UK or someone discovering the world of competitive drifting, the LDX Drift ARTR delivers the precision engineering and performance characteristics that serious drift competitors demand.
As an Almost Ready To Run (ARTR) model, this RC drift car comes with the chassis, suspension, and body pre-assembled, meaning you'll be able to begin drifting with minimal preparation once you supply a motor, ESC, and battery. This approach makes it perfect for RC enthusiasts who want the satisfaction of a quality build without the complete assembly process. The LDX Drift platform is recognised within the RC drifting community for its balanced handling characteristics and drift-specific design philosophy.
The LOUISE RC 1/10 LDX Drift ARTR is classified as a Skill Level 3 model, indicating it's suited to experienced RC operators who understand drift tuning, setup adjustments, and competitive driving techniques. Its precision engineering, quality materials, and drift-optimised geometry make it an excellent choice for anyone serious about RC drifting as a hobby or competitive pursuit in the UK RC market.
Key Features
- Full Bearing Construction — Every rotating component runs on precision ball bearings rather than plastic bushings, which dramatically reduces friction, improves efficiency, and provides the smooth handling essential for precise drift control at high speeds.
- Steel CVD Drive Shaft (Front Only) — The front axles feature constant-velocity drive shafts machined from hardened steel, which deliver consistent power delivery during aggressive steering inputs and provide superior durability compared to standard plastic alternatives.
- Aluminium Motor Mount — The motor is secured using a lightweight yet rigid aluminium mounting plate, which maintains precise alignment with the transmission and ensures reliable power transfer without flex or vibration that could compromise handling.
- Aluminium Centre Drive Shaft — The main transmission shaft is manufactured from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy, combining light weight with exceptional strength to handle the torque loads generated during hard acceleration and drifting manoeuvres.
- Aluminium Spur Gear Hub — The spur gear interface uses aluminium construction, reducing unsprung mass and improving the responsiveness of the drivetrain whilst maintaining the durability required for competitive use.
- Ball Differential — A mechanical ball-type differential distributes power intelligently between the rear wheels during cornering, allowing the inside wheel to slow whilst the outside wheel maintains grip—essential for controlled drifting.
- Full Turnbuckle Suspension Adjusters — Every suspension arm features thread-locked turnbuckles for precise geometry adjustment, allowing you to fine-tune ride height, camber, and toe-in to match your driving style and track conditions.
- Four-Wheel Drive Shaft System — The 4WD configuration delivers power to all four wheels via a shaft-driven transmission system, providing excellent traction and the balanced handling characteristics that drift specialists require.
- On-Road Drift Platform — This chassis is specifically engineered for smooth tarmac and drift surfaces, featuring geometry and suspension tuning optimised for sustained sliding and precise weight transfer management.
Technical Performance
The LOUISE RC 1/10 LDX Drift ARTR demonstrates exceptional engineering across every component. The chassis geometry is optimised for drift driving, with a 258mm wheelbase and 190mm track width providing the balance between stability and manoeuvrability required for competitive drifting. The 65mm diameter tyres are sized to deliver the right rolling resistance and sidewall compliance for sustained drifts without excessive scrubbing. The final gear ratio of 2.35 combined with a main gear ratio of 6.27 creates a transmission setup designed to deliver the throttle modulation and speed characteristics favoured by drift specialists. The shaft-driven 4WD system eliminates the maintenance issues associated with belt-driven alternatives whilst providing consistent power delivery. The use of full ball bearing construction throughout means that friction losses are minimised, translating to more responsive handling and faster steering response—critical factors when executing precision drifting manoeuvres. All major stress points utilise aluminium alloy construction, reducing unsprung mass and improving the car's ability to transition rapidly between drift angles. The mechanical ball differential ensures predictable power distribution during aggressive cornering, whilst the full turnbuckle suspension allows for detailed setup refinement to match your personal driving preferences and local track characteristics. This is a machine built for serious RC drifting enthusiasts who demand precision, reliability, and the ability to extract maximum performance through careful tuning and skillful driving.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the LOUISE RC 1/10 LDX Drift ARTR suitable for beginners? — This model is classified as Skill Level 3, meaning it's designed for experienced RC operators rather than complete beginners. You'll need solid understanding of RC mechanics, battery charging safety, and drift driving techniques. However, if you're an experienced RC enthusiast looking to specialise in drifting, this is an excellent platform to learn on.
- What motor and battery do I need for the LDX Drift ARTR? — The ARTR package doesn't include a motor or ESC, giving you flexibility to choose components matching your performance goals and budget. Most drift specialists use brushless motors in the 3000-5000KV range paired with 2S or 3S LiPo batteries and matching 60-100A brushless ESCs. We recommend consulting with our RC experts to select components that deliver the power and throttle response you're seeking.
- Why is this an ARTR model rather than a fully assembled RTR? — The ARTR approach allows you to specify your own motor, ESC, and battery, ensuring you get exactly the performance characteristics and power delivery you want. Many experienced drifters prefer this flexibility, as it lets you upgrade components later or match the car's setup to specific track conditions.
- What makes this car good for drifting specifically? — The LDX Drift is engineered with drift-specific geometry, including optimised weight distribution, suspension tuning for sustained slides, and a shaft-driven 4WD system that delivers predictable power characteristics. The ball differential and mechanical suspension design allow precise tuning for drift angles and entry speed control, which are essential for competitive drifting.
- How much assembly does the ARTR require? — The chassis, body, suspension, and drivetrain arrive fully assembled and tested. You'll primarily need to install your chosen motor, ESC, battery, and servo, then configure your radio receiver. This typically takes 1-2 hours with basic RC knowledge.
- Can I upgrade components on the LDX Drift ARTR? — Yes, the modular design allows for numerous upgrades including higher-performance motors, upgraded servo units, alternative suspension components, and tuning parts. This extensibility makes it an excellent long-term investment for competitive drifting.
- What's the difference between shaft drive and belt drive systems? — The LDX Drift uses shaft drive throughout, which offers superior reliability, lower maintenance, and more consistent power delivery compared to belt systems. Shaft drive also eliminates belt slip and stretching, making it the preferred choice for precision drifting applications.
