Overview

The Killer Body Nissan Skyline 2000 Turbo GT-ES 195mm clear body is a super-detailed 1:10 scale hardtop bodyshell that brings classic 1980s Japanese automotive styling to your RC car setup. This unpainted clear body shell is inspired by the iconic Nissan Skyline 2000 Turbo GT-ES, one of the most recognisable and respected sports cars in RC enthusiast circles. Whether you're an experienced RC modeller looking for an authentic body shell for your touring car chassis or a hobbyist exploring the creative possibilities of custom RC car UK builds, this Killer Body offering delivers exceptional detail and quality right out of the box.

The KB48636 is designed for builders who want complete creative control over their RC model's appearance. As a clear, unpainted bodyshell, it provides the perfect blank canvas for your painting and customisation work. This approach is popular among serious RC car UK enthusiasts and competitive racers who understand that a quality body shell is fundamental to building a high-performance touring car. The body comes complete with a comprehensive set of scale accessories including chromed and black plastic parts, making it possible to achieve an authentic, fully detailed finished product that captures the essence of the original vehicle.

For anyone in the UK RC hobby community looking for a 1:10 touring car bodyshell with genuine detail and character, this Killer Body Nissan Skyline represents excellent value. The included accessories mean you don't need to source parts separately, and the detailed instruction sheet guides you through assembly. Whether you're building a weekend basher, a display model, or a competition-ready touring car, this clear body shell provides the foundation you need to create something truly special.

Key Features

  • Super-detailed 1:10 scale bodyshell — The Killer Body KB48636 captures the distinctive lines and proportions of the classic 1980 Nissan Skyline 2000 Turbo GT-ES hardtop, providing authentic styling that stands out on the track or road. This level of detail means your finished RC model will look genuinely impressive, whether displayed or in action.
  • Clear unpainted finish — Supplied in clear lexan, this body shell allows you to create a completely custom paint scheme that matches your vision. Whether you want to replicate the original factory colours or create something entirely unique, starting with a clear shell gives you absolute freedom over the final appearance.
  • Comprehensive included accessories — Rather than purchasing parts separately, this package includes a full set of chromed plastic parts (front and rear light buckets, turn light buckets, foglight buckets, exhaust pipe, door handles, fuel cap cover, and front radiator grille), black plastic parts (front spoiler, wing mirrors, wiper, rear wing, number plate, and bumper decorative components), and chromed front and rear grilles in lexan. This means you can build a truly complete model without additional purchases.
  • Professional-grade painting support — The kit includes overspray film and window masks to help you achieve a clean, professional paint finish without masking tape affecting your detail work. This is a feature that experienced RC modellers appreciate, as proper masking is essential to quality results.
  • Complete assembly package — Beyond the body shell itself, you receive a parts bag containing screws, O-rings, body clips, LED stoppers, 3M double-sided tape, and aluminium tape. This ensures you have everything needed for assembly without hunting through your spare parts collection.
  • 195mm width specification — With a 195mm width and 257mm wheelbase, this body shell is engineered to fit standard 1:10 touring car chassis platforms, making it compatible with popular setups used across the UK RC racing community. Always check compatibility with your specific chassis before purchasing.
  • Lexan construction for durability — The body parts set, front and rear bumpers, and wheel arches are all constructed from lexan plastic, a material recognised for excellent durability and impact resistance. This means your finished model can withstand the inevitable bumps and minor crashes that come with RC driving.
  • Hardtop styling — The hardtop design of this Skyline body shell gives it a more sophisticated, road-car appearance compared to open-cockpit touring cars. This appeals to builders who prefer the aesthetic of closed-roof vehicles and want their RC model to replicate genuine road car proportions.
  • Detailed instruction sheet — Every kit includes comprehensive assembly instructions, helping builders of all experience levels understand the assembly process and ensuring nothing gets missed during construction.

Technical Performance

The Killer Body Nissan Skyline 2000 Turbo GT-ES KB48636 is engineered to exacting standards for 1:10 scale touring car applications. At 195mm in width and featuring a 257mm wheelbase, this body shell is designed to match the proportions and mounting points of standard 1:10 touring car chassis platforms commonly used in competitive RC racing across the UK. The clear lexan construction provides excellent light transmission for painting while maintaining structural integrity during use. The shell is supplied untrimmed with no pre-cut mounting holes, allowing builders to customise mounting points to suit their specific chassis setup. All plastic accessories—whether chromed for bright, reflective details or finished in black for contrast—are engineered to fit precisely with the bodyshell, creating a seamless integrated appearance. The inclusion of professional-grade painting supplies including overspray film and window masks demonstrates that Killer Body understands the technical requirements of serious modellers who demand clean, professional finishes. Whether you're building a touring car for competitive racing, weekend bashing, or display purposes, the materials and engineering of this body shell ensure it will maintain its appearance and structural integrity through extended use.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What chassis does the Killer Body Nissan Skyline 2000 Turbo GT-ES body fit? — This clear body shell is designed for 1:10 touring car platforms with a wheelbase of 257mm and compatible with chassis requiring a 195mm width. Many standard 1:10 touring car chassis will accommodate this body, including popular options from manufacturers producing competitive and recreational RC cars in the UK. Always measure your specific chassis before ordering to confirm compatibility. Customer reviews indicate it fits the Yokomo RD2.0 chassis without issue.
  • Is this bodyshell suitable for beginners? — This is better suited to builders with some experience in RC model assembly and painting. Because the body arrives unpainted and untrimmed with no pre-cut mounting holes, you'll need to invest time in painting it to your chosen colour scheme and carefully trimming and drilling mounting holes to fit your specific chassis. However, the comprehensive included accessories and detailed instruction sheet mean that patient beginners with painting experience can certainly achieve good results.
  • What paint should I use on this clear lexan body? — You should use paint specifically formulated for lexan plastic bodies. Standard model paints may not adhere properly to lexan. Many RC enthusiasts in the UK use specialist polycarbonate body paint available from RC shops, which bonds effectively to lexan and provides excellent durability and colour vibrancy. Always apply paint in thin coats and allow proper drying time between applications.
  • Does this body come painted? — No, the Nissan Skyline 2000 Turbo GT-ES body arrives as a clear unpainted shell. This is intentional, giving you complete freedom to choose your colour scheme and create a custom appearance that matches your vision. The clear finish also means light can pass through, which is important if you plan to use headlight and tail light components.
  • What is included with the body shell? — Beyond the clear bodyshell itself, Killer Body includes a comprehensive collection of scale accessories: chromed plastic parts for light buckets and details, black plastic parts for spoilers and trim, lexan bumpers and wheel arches, basic decals, masking film for painting, and a parts bag containing mounting hardware and assembly consumables. This comprehensive package reduces the need to source additional parts.
  • How do I ensure clean paint results? — The included overspray film and window masks are specifically provided to help you achieve professional-quality paint work. Properly masking windows, lights, and trim areas before painting prevents overspray and ensures clean edges. Take your time with masking, as this is where most of the difference between amateur and professional finishes comes from.
  • Will I need any special tools to assemble this body? — You'll need basic RC modelling tools including a sharp craft knife or body reamer set for trimming the shell and carefully drilling mounting holes. A rotary tool is helpful but not essential. You'll also need screwdrivers for assembling the plastic accessories. All hardware is included in the parts bag.
