Technical Performance
The Fastrax FTBB23 bearing is engineered with precision tolerances that minimise friction and play within RC drivetrain systems. At 8mm bore diameter with 12mm outer diameter and 4mm width, this bearing conforms to standard miniature bearing specifications widely used throughout the RC hobby. The compact 4mm width makes it ideal for tight spaces within RC chassis designs whilst the generous bore and outer diameters provide excellent load capacity and rotational smoothness. Quality ball bearing construction ensures consistent performance across repeated use cycles, which is essential for both casual recreational RC driving and competitive racing applications. The bearing's engineering enables it to handle the rapid acceleration, cornering forces and impact loads typical of RC vehicle operation without premature wear or failure. Whether you're running through rocky terrain in a crawler, launching across jumps in an off-road buggy, or drifting through corners, this bearing maintains its precision and reliability. Regular bearing maintenance and replacement is recognised best practice in the RC community, and having quality Fastrax replacements available ensures your RC car performs at its peak for every session.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is this bearing used for in RC cars? — This is a precision replacement bearing designed for RC drivetrain systems. Bearings reduce friction between rotating shafts and allow smooth power transmission from motor to wheels. As RC vehicles experience constant acceleration, deceleration and cornering forces, bearings gradually wear and develop play, which reduces handling precision and increases drivetrain strain. Replacing worn bearings with quality alternatives like the Fastrax FTBB23 restores smooth operation and is essential maintenance for any RC car.
- Which RC vehicles is this bearing compatible with? — The 8mm x 12mm x 4mm size makes this bearing compatible with numerous RC platforms including Element Enduro, HPI option parts, Mugen options, Rival MT10, Tamiya options, Team Associated options, Team Losi options, Traxxas options, and Axial Racing options. The bearing's versatility across multiple brands makes it an excellent choice for hobbyists with multiple RC vehicles.
- How often should I replace bearings in my RC car? — Bearing replacement frequency depends on usage intensity and environment. Casual recreational drivers may replace bearings every several months, whilst competitive racers or bashers who use their vehicles frequently may need replacement every few weeks. Water ingress, mud, sand and dust can accelerate bearing wear, so vehicles used in challenging conditions should have bearings checked and replaced more regularly. Keeping spare bearings like the FTBB23 on hand ensures you can perform maintenance immediately rather than waiting for delivery.
- What is the difference between this bearing and more expensive alternatives? — Fastrax offers excellent value by manufacturing quality replacement bearings at competitive prices. The FTBB23 is engineered to the same precision standards as premium alternatives but without premium pricing, making it ideal for regular maintenance and bearing rotation schedules. Whether you need a single replacement or wish to maintain a stock of spares, Fastrax bearings deliver reliable performance without excessive cost.
- Can I use this bearing for upgrades or do I need exact replacements? — The 8mm x 12mm x 4mm dimension is a standard bearing size used across numerous RC applications, so this bearing can serve both as a direct replacement for worn originals and as an upgrade component when installing quality bearings throughout your RC vehicle's drivetrain.
