Overview

The Fastrax M0.6 27T Aluminium 7075 Pinion Gear is an essential upgrade component for RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand precision engineering and reliable performance from their RC cars. Whether you're running a competitive track setup or a weekend basher, this pinion gear represents the kind of quality aftermarket component that separates serious hobbyists from casual players. Fastrax has earned recognition across the RC community for producing high-quality option parts that enhance performance, durability and customisation on a wide range of platforms.

This pinion gear is engineered from premium 7075 aluminium alloy, one of the strongest and most durable aluminium formulations available in the RC hobby. The M0.6 module specification means this gear is compatible with a specific range of RC vehicles, whilst the 27-tooth configuration provides a particular gear ratio suited to fine-tuning your vehicle's acceleration and top speed characteristics. Whether you're looking to replace a worn component or upgrade to a more durable option part, this Fastrax pinion gear delivers the engineering quality you'd expect from a trusted RC components manufacturer.

For RC car enthusiasts throughout the UK, having access to quality option parts like this means you can maintain your vehicle to the highest standards and adapt your setup to different driving conditions and competition requirements. RC Model Shop stocks this genuine Fastrax component as part of our commitment to providing serious RC hobbyists with the exact parts they need to keep their vehicles running at peak performance.

Key Features

  • M0.6 Module Specification — The M0.6 module rating defines the tooth profile and pitch of this pinion gear, ensuring precise mesh engagement with compatible motors and transmission systems. This standardised specification means the gear will perform consistently and reliably across multiple RC platforms and setups.
  • 27-Tooth Configuration — The 27-tooth count provides a specific gear ratio that influences your RC car's acceleration response and top speed characteristics. This tooth count is a popular choice among RC enthusiasts who want a balanced setup suitable for general track use and bashing.
  • 7075 Aluminium Alloy Construction — This premium aluminium alloy is chosen for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and durability under extreme stress. 7075 aluminium is significantly harder and more impact-resistant than standard aluminium, meaning this pinion gear will withstand the punishing forces of acceleration, deceleration and gear mesh engagement better than inferior alternatives.
  • Precision Engineering — Fastrax manufactures this component to exacting tolerances, ensuring that teeth are cut with absolute precision for smooth meshing and minimal backlash. Precision-cut gears run quieter, more efficiently and with less wear on both the pinion and mating gears.
  • Genuine Fastrax Quality — As an official Fastrax component part, this pinion gear meets the manufacturer's quality standards and specifications. You can be confident that you're purchasing an authentic component designed to work seamlessly with compatible RC vehicles and drivetrain systems.

Technical Performance

The Fastrax M0.6 27T Aluminium 7075 Pinion Gear represents a significant step up in durability and performance reliability compared to steel or plastic alternatives. The 7075 aluminium alloy used in its construction is one of the highest-strength aluminium formulations available to the RC hobby, offering superior resistance to the shearing forces that occur during gear mesh engagement and acceleration. The M0.6 module specification ensures this pinion will mesh precisely with compatible motor pinions and transmission components, minimising slack and play in the drivetrain whilst maximising power transfer efficiency. The 27-tooth configuration is engineered to provide a balanced approach to gear ratios, offering responsive acceleration without sacrificing top-end speed potential. Whether you're upgrading from a worn stock component or replacing a plastic gear that has stripped or cracked, this aluminium option part delivers the kind of engineering performance that keeps your RC car running smoothly lap after lap and session after session. The precision manufacturing ensures that gear noise is minimised and wear is distributed evenly across all teeth, extending the service life of both this pinion and the components it meshes with.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a pinion gear and why would I need to replace mine? — A pinion gear is a small gear attached to or integrated with your RC motor that transfers rotational power from the motor to the main transmission and drive shafts of your vehicle. Over time, pinion gears can become worn, stripped or damaged, particularly if you regularly bash your RC car or compete in races. Upgrading to a durable 7075 aluminium option part like this Fastrax component provides better longevity and more consistent performance than plastic or lower-grade steel alternatives.
  • Is the M0.6 module compatible with my RC car? — The M0.6 module specification is a standardised gear profile used across many RC platforms. However, compatibility depends on your specific vehicle and motor setup. Before purchasing, verify that your RC car requires an M0.6 module pinion gear and that 27 teeth is the correct tooth count for your desired setup. Check your vehicle's manual or contact our expert team for guidance on compatibility with your particular RC model.
  • Why choose 7075 aluminium over plastic or steel? — 7075 aluminium offers the best balance of weight, strength and durability for RC drivetrain components. It's significantly stronger than plastic gears (which can strip easily under load) whilst being lighter than steel, which can add unnecessary weight to your vehicle and increase load on your motor. Aluminium also dissipates heat more effectively during intense driving sessions.
  • What tooth count should I choose for my setup? — Pinion gear tooth counts directly affect your vehicle's acceleration and top speed. A 27-tooth pinion like this one offers a balanced configuration suitable for general track use, competitive racing and weekend bashing. Higher tooth counts provide more top speed, while lower counts give quicker acceleration. Your ideal choice depends on your driving style and track conditions.
  • How do I install this pinion gear? — Installation procedures vary depending on your specific RC vehicle and motor setup. Typically, pinion gears are secured to the motor shaft using a small grub screw or set screw. You may need an Allen key or screwdriver to remove your old pinion and secure this new one. Consult your vehicle's manual for specific installation instructions, or speak with our experienced RC team for guidance.
  • How long will this pinion gear last? — With proper maintenance and appropriate use, a 7075 aluminium pinion gear like this Fastrax component should provide many hours of reliable service. Durability depends on your driving style, maintenance practices and the condition of mating gears in your transmission. Regularly cleaning and checking your drivetrain ensures maximum component lifespan.
