Overview

The Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil 2000CST is a professionally engineered differential lubricant designed for remote control cars, buggies, trucks and crawlers of all types. This 2000 centistoke viscosity oil represents the perfect middle ground in the extensive Fastrax range, making it an ideal choice for drivers seeking a versatile solution that performs across varied conditions and driving styles. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your RC car UK setup, a weekend enthusiast enjoying casual bashing, or a dedicated crawling pilot, this pure silicone formulation delivers the consistency and reliability you need to keep your differentials running smoothly and your vehicles performing at their best.

Fastrax has established itself as a trusted brand in the RC hobby industry, and this diff oil range represents the culmination of rigorous development and real-world testing conducted over 12 months with some of Europe's leading drivers. The testing programme was deliberately comprehensive, exposing the oils to extreme conditions ranging from the intense heat of Spanish tracks to the wet, unpredictable British weather. This methodical approach ensures that every bottle of Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil maintains consistent performance regardless of your local climate or driving environment. Professional drivers involved in the development phase reported that they had never encountered oils offering such impressive consistency and smooth progression through the entire viscosity range, making tuning and optimisation straightforward and predictable.

The extensive range of available viscosities—from lighter oils for faster differential action to heavier formulations for maximum lock and control—empowers you to precisely dial in your vehicle's handling characteristics for any track condition, terrain type or weather scenario you encounter. This level of tunability is what separates serious competitors and dedicated enthusiasts from casual users, and Fastrax has made it accessible to everyone with their thoughtfully engineered product line. The convenient easy-pour lid design transforms what can otherwise be a messy, frustrating task into something quick and effortless, so you spend more time driving and less time dealing with spilled oil on your hands and workbench.

Key Features

  • Pure Silicone Formulation — This oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which provides superior stability across a wide temperature range and ensures consistent viscosity whether you're racing in cold British conditions or hot Mediterranean climates. Pure silicone oils resist oxidation and break-down far better than mineral alternatives, meaning your differential will remain properly lubricated even during extended driving sessions or competitive events.
  • 2000 Centistoke Viscosity (CST) — The 2000CST specification places this oil right in the middle of the Fastrax range, making it suitable for general-purpose use across most RC vehicle types and driving conditions. This viscosity strikes an excellent balance between differential lock-up (resistance to slipping) and smooth, responsive turning, enabling you to achieve predictable handling without overly restricting your vehicle's agility.
  • Extensively Tested Formula — Every batch of this oil benefits from a full year of dedicated development and real-world testing conducted by professional European drivers across multiple climate zones and track conditions. This rigorous testing process means you're using a product that has been proven in demanding competitive environments and refined based on feedback from experienced racers who understand exactly what performance characteristics matter most.
  • Consistent Performance Across Range — Professional drivers specifically praised the remarkable consistency and logical progression throughout the complete Fastrax oil range. Moving from one viscosity to another is predictable and allows you to make fine adjustments to your differential's lock characteristics without experiencing sudden changes in behaviour, giving you complete control over your vehicle's tuning.
  • Easy-Pour Lid Design — The specially engineered lid makes dispensing oil quick, clean and hassle-free, dramatically reducing mess and spillage during maintenance. This thoughtful design feature transforms differential servicing from a tedious chore into a simple, five-minute task, so you can get back to racing or bashing without spending time cleaning up your hands and workshop.
  • Ideal for Multi-Condition Tuning — The vast range of available viscosities enables you to optimise your RC car's handling for all conditions imaginable—from loose and dusty summer tracks to wet winter terrain, from tight technical courses to wide-open speed runs. This versatility makes the Fastrax range invaluable for drivers who participate in multiple racing series, travel to different tracks, or simply want a single reliable product they can trust year-round.

Technical Performance

The Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil 2000CST represents the pinnacle of differential lubricant engineering for the RC hobby. The pure silicone base stock provides exceptional thermal stability, maintaining consistent viscosity across the temperature extremes you'll encounter whether you're racing on a scorching Spanish circuit or battling the rain and cold of the British weather. At 2000 centistokes, this formulation offers an optimal balance between differential lock (the resistance to slipping that determines how eagerly your vehicle turns) and drivetrain efficiency. The measured viscosity has been selected to work effectively across a wide variety of RC vehicle platforms—from competitive touring cars and buggies to trail trucks and crawlers—making it one of the most universally applicable oils in the Fastrax range. The engineering excellence that went into this product is evident in the way professional drivers reported unprecedented consistency and progression throughout the complete product line, indicating that Fastrax has achieved something special in terms of quality control and formula refinement. Unlike inferior alternatives, this pure silicone formulation resists oxidation and breakdown even under extended use, ensuring your differentials receive consistent, reliable lubrication throughout their service life. The result is smoother turning, more predictable handling, less wear on differential components, and ultimately longer-lasting performance from your RC vehicles regardless of whether you're a weekend basher or competitive racer.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity of diff oil should I use for my RC car? — Differential oil viscosity depends on your vehicle type, driving style, track surface and weather conditions. The 2000CST option from Fastrax is an excellent all-purpose choice that works well across multiple vehicle platforms and conditions. Lighter oils (like 1000CST) provide faster differential action and easier turning, whilst heavier oils (like 3000CST and above) create more lock and tighter turning characteristics. If you're new to RC or unsure what viscosity to select, 2000CST is a safe, versatile starting point that you can adjust from based on your specific needs.
  • What makes Fastrax diff oil different from other brands? — Fastrax diff oils stand apart because they have been developed through extensive real-world testing by professional European drivers in varying climate conditions, from Spanish heat to British rain. Users report that the entire Fastrax range demonstrates exceptional consistency and logical progression between viscosity levels, meaning you get predictable performance and reliable handling changes as you adjust your oil choice. The pure silicone formulation ensures stability across temperature extremes, and the convenient easy-pour lid design makes maintenance quick and clean rather than messy and frustrating.
  • Is 2000CST suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. The 2000CST viscosity is an excellent choice for beginner RC enthusiasts because it provides a balanced, forgiving differential lock characteristic that works well on most vehicle types and track conditions. If you're just getting started with RC cars UK and haven't yet developed strong preferences about differential tuning, this mid-range viscosity will give you reliable, predictable performance whilst you learn the hobby. As your skills and understanding develop, you'll be able to experiment with other viscosities in the Fastrax range to fine-tune your vehicle's handling for specific conditions or driving styles.
  • Can I use this diff oil in all types of RC vehicles? — The 2000CST formulation is designed to work effectively in differentials across a wide range of RC vehicle types, from competitive touring cars and buggies to trail trucks and rock crawlers. The universal applicability of this viscosity makes it an ideal choice if you own multiple RC cars or if you regularly switch between different vehicle platforms. However, specific vehicle manufacturers or professional racing series may recommend particular viscosities for optimal performance, so it's worth checking your vehicle's manual or competitive guidelines if you're entering organised events.
  • How long does a bottle of diff oil last? — The longevity of a single bottle depends entirely on how frequently you drive your RC vehicles and how often you change the oil. A bottle of 59ml is typically sufficient for multiple differential servicing cycles, making it an economical choice for regular drivers. Fastrax's pure silicone formulation resists oxidation and breakdown, meaning the oil maintains its performance characteristics longer than inferior alternatives, so you get more value from each bottle you purchase.
  • Should I use pure silicone or mineral diff oil? — Pure silicone oils, like this Fastrax formulation, offer superior performance compared to mineral alternatives. Silicone provides better thermal stability, maintains more consistent viscosity across temperature extremes, and resists oxidation and breakdown far more effectively. If you're serious about maximising your RC vehicle's performance and longevity, pure silicone is the choice used by professional competitors and recommended by experienced enthusiasts across the UK RC hobby community.
