This practical feature allows you to make differential adjustments between practice runs and races without wasting valuable time.
- Pure Silicone Formula — Manufactured from pure silicone, this differential oil provides excellent thermal stability and consistency across a wide temperature range. Silicone-based oils are renowned in the RC hobby for their durability and resistance to degradation, ensuring your differential receives consistent lubrication over extended use.
- 50ml Bottle Size — The convenient 50ml bottle provides sufficient oil for multiple differential changes and fine-tuning sessions, offering excellent value for money. This size is ideal for keeping in your RC bag or pit box for trackside adjustments.
Technical Performance
The Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil 12500CST represents a significant advancement in RC differential lubrication technology. The 12500 centistoke viscosity specification places this oil in the medium-thick category, providing drivers with a noticeably responsive and progressive feel through acceleration and cornering phases. Pure silicone formulation ensures exceptional thermal stability, meaning the oil maintains its viscosity characteristics even under the intense heat generated during high-speed competition. The engineering behind this product reflects extensive real-world testing across the widest possible range of environmental conditions, from Spanish heat to British rain, eliminating the guesswork from differential tuning. European competition drivers have praised the unprecedented consistency offered by this range, with the progression between different viscosity grades being smoother and more predictable than alternative products on the market. The 50ml bottle capacity is perfectly sized for the typical RC car enthusiast, whether you're making minor adjustments to your differential feel or conducting complete oil changes. The pure silicone base resists degradation and contamination far better than mineral oil alternatives, meaning your differential will receive reliable protection and lubrication over extended use and multiple sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity is 12500cSt and what does it mean for my RC car's handling? — Centistokes (cSt) is the standard measurement of oil viscosity or thickness. A 12500cSt rating means this oil is relatively thick compared to lighter options, making it suitable for drivers who want a more responsive and progressive differential feel. Thicker oils provide more resistance in the differential gears, resulting in better traction and smoother acceleration characteristics. If you find your car feels too loose or twitchy during acceleration, moving to a thicker oil like this 12500cSt option can significantly improve handling and consistency.
- Will this Fastrax diff oil work with my RC car? — Differential oil is a universal RC component suitable for any RC car that uses an open or limited-slip differential, regardless of brand or model. Whether you run a Traxxas, Team Associated, Losi, Mugen, Tamiya, HPI, Axial, or any other RC car UK model, this pure silicone oil will work with your vehicle's differential. Simply check your existing oil viscosity and adjust as needed for your driving conditions.
- How often should I change my RC car's differential oil? — The frequency depends on how often you use your RC car and the conditions you drive in. For regular bashers and weekend racers, changing differential oil every 3-6 months is typical. For competitive drivers running multiple sessions per week, monthly changes or even more frequent adjustments may be beneficial. The easy-pour lid on this Fastrax oil makes frequent adjustments and changes convenient and hassle-free.
- What is the difference between 12500cSt and other viscosity options? — The Fastrax range offers multiple viscosity options, with lower numbers like 5000cSt being thinner and lighter, whilst higher numbers provide thicker, more resistant oils. The 12500cSt option falls into the medium-thick category, making it a good choice for drivers seeking a balance between traction and predictability. Lighter oils (5000-7500cSt) are typically better for tight tracks and precise handling, whilst thicker oils (15000cSt and above) are preferred on looser surfaces or by drivers who want maximum traction and progressive acceleration feel.
- Is Fastrax diff oil suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Whilst differential tuning is an important aspect of RC car setup, beginners benefit greatly from using quality oils developed through extensive testing. This Fastrax oil's consistency and reliability make it an excellent choice regardless of skill level. Starting with the 12500cSt option gives you a solid baseline, and you can experiment with other viscosity grades as you develop your driving technique and setup preferences.
- Why is this oil described as 'pure silicone'? — Pure silicone formulation means the oil is manufactured from silicone compounds rather than mineral oil or synthetic blends. Silicone oils offer superior thermal stability, meaning they maintain their viscosity characteristics across a wider temperature range than alternatives. They also resist degradation and contamination better, providing longer-lasting protection for your RC car's differential gears. European competition drivers consistently choose silicone-based oils for these performance advantages.
- How much oil do I need per differential fill? — This depends on your specific RC car model and differential design. Most RC cars require between 1-3ml of oil per differential fill, meaning a single 50ml bottle provides enough for numerous complete oil changes or adjustments. Always check your vehicle's manual for the recommended fill amount to ensure optimal performance and avoid over-filling.
