Overview
The Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil 100000CST is a premium differential oil specifically formulated for RC cars, crawlers, trucks and buggies across the UK and Europe. This professional-grade racing oil has been rigorously tested and developed over 12 months by some of Europe's leading RC drivers and competitors. Whether you're running a Traxxas, Team Associated, Losi, Axial or any other RC car UK platform, having the correct differential oil viscosity is absolutely critical for optimal performance, handling and longevity of your drivetrain components.
Differential oil is one of the most important tuning elements in RC racing, yet it's often overlooked by casual hobbyists. The viscosity rating directly affects how your RC car's differential behaves—too thin and your diffs will slip excessively, causing poor traction and unpredictable handling; too thick and your vehicle will feel sluggish with poor power delivery. Fastrax has engineered this 100000 centistoke (cSt) formulation to provide exceptional consistency and progression through their entire range of oils, allowing RC drivers to precisely tune their cars for all conditions imaginable.
The extensive testing programme was conducted across dramatically different climates and weather conditions—from the intense heat of Spain to the cold, wet rain of the UK—to ensure this oil maintains optimal performance in virtually any environment you'll encounter. RC drivers involved in the development process have consistently reported that they've never experienced oils offering such impressive consistency and smooth progression through the product range. If winning races and achieving the best possible handling characteristics matter to you, Fastrax Racing oils are the choice of champions and serious RC enthusiasts.
Key Features
- 100000 centistoke viscosity rating — This ultra-high viscosity makes it ideal for differentials that require maximum thickness and slip resistance, giving you the control needed for technical driving and competition use on demanding RC car UK courses.
- Pure silicone formulation — Silicone-based oils offer superior thermal stability compared to mineral oils, meaning they maintain consistent performance across a wider temperature range, from cold British winters to hot summer conditions.
- Extensively tested by European racing drivers — This oil has been proven in real-world racing conditions by professional RC drivers, not just laboratory testing, giving you confidence that it delivers genuine performance benefits.
- Tested across extreme climate variations — The development process involved testing in both the heat of Spain and the rain of the UK, ensuring this oil performs reliably whether you're racing indoors, outdoors, in wet conditions or dry conditions.
- Exceptional consistency and progression through the range — Drivers consistently report that Fastrax oils provide the most reliable and predictable performance when switching between different viscosity grades for setup tuning.
- Easy pour lid design — The thoughtfully engineered bottle features an easy pour spout, making the job of changing your differential oil quick and convenient rather than messy and time-consuming.
- Precision tuning capability — The vast range of available viscosity options allows you to dial in your RC car's differential performance precisely for all track conditions, weather and driving styles.
- 50ml bottle size — A convenient 50ml container provides enough oil for multiple diff changes or top-ups without excessive waste, ideal for the hobby RC user who maintains multiple cars or frequently adjusts their setup.
Technical Performance
The Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil 100000CST represents a significant advancement in RC car maintenance and tuning chemistry. At 100000 centistokes, this is an extremely high viscosity oil designed for differentials that need maximum thickness and resistance to shearing under load. The pure silicone construction is far superior to traditional mineral-based oils because silicone maintains its viscosity characteristics across a much broader temperature range. When you're racing your RC buggy, monster truck or crawler in the summer heat, silicone won't thin out as much as mineral oil would, preserving your carefully dialled-in differential behaviour. Conversely, in cold conditions typical of UK winters, silicone remains more fluid than mineral oils at equivalent viscosity ratings, ensuring your diffs don't become sluggish or unresponsive. The 50ml bottle is perfectly sized for maintenance—this is enough oil to service your differentials multiple times, or to keep your RC car UK setup dialled in throughout a racing season. The engineering of the pour spout is deliberately simple but effective, recognising that RC hobbyists spend enough time wrestling with maintenance without the added frustration of messy oil bottles. This product has been formulated, tested and refined by professional European racing drivers who understand exactly what differential performance characteristics win races and deliver consistent lap times.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does the 100000CST viscosity rating actually mean for my RC car? — CST stands for centistokes, which is a measurement of oil thickness or viscosity. A higher number means thicker oil. The 100000CST rating makes this an extremely thick, high-viscosity oil that's designed for differentials needing maximum slip resistance and control. This thickness creates more resistance in your diff, reducing slip and providing more predictable, controlled handling. It's particularly popular with serious racers and competitors using precision setups.
- Why is silicone oil better than mineral oil for my RC differential? — Silicone oil maintains its viscosity characteristics much more consistently across temperature ranges compared to mineral oil. In hot conditions, silicone won't thin out as dramatically as mineral oil, preserving your differential tuning. In cold conditions, silicone remains more responsive than mineral oil at the same viscosity rating. This makes silicone ideal for UK RC enthusiasts who race in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
- How often should I change my differential oil? — Most RC drivers change their diff oil every 5-10 hours of driving, or whenever they notice the oil becoming discoloured, contaminated or losing its effectiveness in maintaining differential control. With a 50ml bottle, you'll have enough oil for multiple service intervals.
- Is this oil suitable for all RC car types? — This oil is specifically formulated for use in differentials across a wide range of RC cars, trucks, buggies and crawlers. However, always check your specific vehicle's manual for recommended differential oil viscosity specifications. Different vehicles and setups may require different viscosity grades.
- Can I mix this with other brands of differential oil? — It's generally not recommended to mix oils from different brands or formulations, as they may have different additives and chemical properties that could affect performance. Use consistent, quality oils from established manufacturers like Fastrax for best results.
- How much oil does a typical RC car differential need? — Most RC car differentials require only a small amount of oil—typically just enough to coat the internal gears and bearing surfaces. Your vehicle manual will specify the correct amount. The 50ml bottle is more than sufficient for many service intervals.
- Where can I buy Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil? — This product is available from RC Model Shop, your trusted UK RC retailer, along with the full range of Fastrax racing oils in different viscosity grades.
