Overview
The Etronix Female XT-30 to Male Deans Connector Adaptor (ET08500) is an essential accessory for RC enthusiasts in the UK who work with multiple connector standards. Whether you're running RC cars, trucks, or other electric-powered RC models, you'll often encounter situations where different components use different connector types. This compact adaptor provides a straightforward solution to interface two of the most popular RC connector standards without the need for re-soldering or replacing existing leads. It's the kind of practical accessory that every serious RC modeller should have in their toolkit.
If you're building a custom RC car setup, upgrading your RC truck, or troubleshooting compatibility issues between components, this adaptor bridges the gap between XT-30 male plugs and Deans/T-plug female sockets. Rather than spending time at the workbench with a soldering iron, you can simply plug this adaptor in and get your RC setup running. It's ideal for hobbyists who frequently swap batteries, chargers, or other RC electronics between different vehicles and setups. The compact in-line design means it won't add significant bulk to your installation, making it perfect for tight spaces in baskets, chassis bays, and battery compartments.
At RC Model Shop, we understand that the world of RC hobby can involve a variety of equipment and standards. Whether you're a seasoned competitor working with race-grade equipment, a weekend basher enjoying outdoor RC fun, or just discovering the world of RC for the first time, having the right adaptors and connectors on hand ensures smooth operation and compatibility across your entire fleet of RC vehicles. This genuine Etronix part is built to reliable standards and offers suggested compatibility when an XT-30 male plug needs to mate with a Deans/T-plug female socket.
Key Features
- Female XT-30 Connector — One end features a female XT-30 connector, allowing you to connect components with male XT-30 plugs and integrate them into systems that use Deans/T-plugs, expanding your component compatibility options across different RC setups.
- Male Deans/T-Plug Connector — The opposite end is equipped with a male Deans/T-plug connector, the industry-standard connector found on batteries, chargers, and electronic components across most RC cars and trucks in the UK market.
- Compact In-Line Design — This adaptor features a compact in-line design that minimises bulk in tight installations, making it ideal for RC vehicles where space is at a premium, such as 1/10 scale buggies, trucks, and crawlers with limited internal chassis space.
- Genuine Etronix Manufacturing — Built by Etronix, a recognised manufacturer of quality RC accessories, this adaptor meets the standards expected by serious RC hobbyists and ensures reliable electrical connectivity and long-term durability.
- Mixed-Connector Compatibility Bridge — This adaptor helps bridge mixed-connector RC setups, offering suggested compatibility when you need to connect components with different connector standards without the hassle of de-soldering and re-soldering existing leads.
- No Re-Soldering Required — Unlike permanently modifying your RC components by changing connector types, this adaptor allows you to maintain your original leads whilst achieving compatibility, preserving the integrity of your equipment and battery systems.
Technical Performance
The Etronix Female XT-30 to Male Deans Connector Adaptor is engineered as a passive in-line connector interface with no electronic components or active circuitry. Its performance is entirely dependent on the quality of the connectors and the integrity of the internal connections. The female XT-30 end accepts male XT-30 plugs commonly found on certain RC batteries and chargers, whilst the male Deans/T-plug end connects to female Deans sockets on RC chargers, speed controllers, and battery management systems. The adaptor maintains full current-carrying capacity, supporting the high discharge rates required by modern brushless RC motor systems and LiPo battery packs used in UK RC cars and trucks. The compact design ensures minimal resistance and voltage drop during operation, making it suitable for high-performance applications where efficient power delivery is critical. This is a passive adaptor with no rated current limit other than that of the connectors themselves, which are designed to handle the demands of typical RC applications including brushless motors, electronic speed controllers, and high-capacity battery systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between XT-30 and Deans connectors? — XT-30 and Deans/T-plugs are two different connector standards used in RC applications. Deans connectors (also called T-plugs) are the more traditional standard found on most RC batteries and chargers in the UK market. XT-30 connectors are a newer standard offering a more compact design. This adaptor allows you to mate these two standards without replacing existing components.
- Do I need soldering skills to use this adaptor? — No, this is a plug-and-play adaptor. Simply plug the female XT-30 end into your male XT-30 component and the male Deans end into your female Deans socket. No soldering, wiring, or technical knowledge is required, making it ideal for beginners and experienced RC hobbyists alike.
- Is this adaptor suitable for high-discharge LiPo batteries? — Yes, this adaptor is designed for use with modern RC power systems including high-discharge LiPo batteries and brushless motors. However, always check that both your battery and charger are compatible with the connector types being used.
- Will this work with my RC car, truck, or buggy? — This adaptor will work with any RC vehicle that has a component with a male XT-30 plug and a system using female Deans connectors. Common applications include connecting alternative batteries, chargers, or electronic components across different RC cars, trucks, buggies, and crawlers used by UK hobbyists.
- Can I use this adaptor permanently or is it just temporary? — This adaptor is designed for compatibility bridging and can be left in place as a permanent solution. It's particularly useful if you frequently switch batteries or components between different RC vehicles with mixed connector standards.
- What safety considerations should I be aware of? — Always disconnect power before plugging or unplugging this adaptor. Ensure that the connectors are fully seated and making proper contact before applying power to your RC system. Never force connectors together, as this can damage the contacts and create unsafe conditions.
