Overview
The Etronix EC2 Male to Female Deans Adaptor Lead (ET0849) is an essential connectivity solution for RC enthusiasts across the UK who work with mixed connector standards. Whether you're managing an RC car collection, setting up a charging station, or organising your RC hobby bench, this straightforward adaptor lead offers a practical way to interface EC2 and Deans (T-Plug) connections without the need for re-soldering. This is the kind of accessory that transforms your RC toolkit from frustrating to functional, allowing you to link different power standards and connector types seamlessly.
For RC model owners, power lead users, and anyone running charging rigs that incorporate both EC2 and Deans connectors, this adaptor eliminates compatibility headaches. Rather than being forced to replace entire leads or resort to complex soldering work, the ET0849 provides a clean, professional solution that keeps your setup tidy and your connections reliable. It's particularly valuable if you're rationalising connectors across multiple RC models or bench equipment, helping you standardise your power distribution without major investment or technical work.
This Etronix adaptor represents the kind of smart, no-fuss accessory that experienced RC hobbyists keep in their toolkit. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor, a weekend basher, or someone building their first proper RC charging and maintenance setup, having the right adaptor cables on hand means you spend more time enjoying your hobby and less time troubleshooting connections.
Key Features
- EC2 Male to Deans Female Configuration — This adaptor is specifically designed with an EC2 male connector on one end and a female Deans (T-Plug) connector on the other, allowing you to connect EC2-equipped devices directly to Deans-compatible power sources, chargers, or battery leads without any modification to your existing equipment.
- No Re-soldering Required — The pre-assembled design means you can implement this adaptor immediately without needing soldering skills or equipment, making it accessible to all RC hobbyists regardless of their technical experience level, and ensuring you can get your setup running quickly.
- Simplifies Connector Standardisation — If you're managing multiple RC models with different connector types, this lead helps you work towards a unified connector standard across your collection, reducing confusion and making battery swaps and charging operations more straightforward.
- Ideal for Charging Rig Setup — Whether you're building a dedicated charging station or organising your bench setup, this adaptor allows you to connect mixed-connector batteries and chargers without purchasing entirely new leads or power distribution equipment.
- Compact and Portable — The adaptor's streamlined design means it takes up minimal space in your RC toolkit or equipment bag, making it easy to carry to the track, field, or anywhere else your RC hobby takes you.
- Professional Build Quality — Etronix components are engineered for reliability and durability, ensuring that this adaptor maintains solid electrical connections through repeated use in demanding RC environments.
- Practical Solution for Mixed Equipment — If you've accumulated RC models and equipment over time from different manufacturers or periods, this adaptor acts as a bridge, allowing disparate systems to work together cohesively.
Technical Performance
The Etronix EC2 Male to Female Deans Adaptor Lead represents solid engineering focused on delivering reliable electrical connectivity in RC applications. The adaptor is constructed to handle the current demands of typical RC power systems, with connectors that maintain stable contact through repeated connection and disconnection cycles. The EC2 male connector provides a secure fit into EC2 female receptacles, whilst the Deans female connector accepts standard T-Plug-equipped battery leads and power sources. This design philosophy means the adaptor functions as a transparent bridge between two different connector standards without introducing voltage drop, resistance issues, or compatibility concerns. The build quality ensures that whether you're running a single battery charge or managing a complex multi-battery charging setup, the adaptor maintains consistent performance. For RC enthusiasts working with both older Deans-standard equipment and newer EC2-equipped devices, this adaptor eliminates the need to maintain separate power infrastructure for each connector type, streamlining your overall RC hobby investment and maintenance requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What exactly does an EC2 to Deans adaptor do, and why would I need one? — This adaptor allows you to connect devices with EC2 connectors to power sources, chargers, or batteries that use Deans (T-Plug) connectors. You'd need this if you have RC equipment using different connector standards and want to avoid re-soldering or purchasing entirely new leads. It's particularly useful when expanding your RC car UK collection over time, as different manufacturers and different eras of RC equipment often used different connector types.
- Is this adaptor suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Because it requires no soldering or technical assembly, this adaptor is perfect for beginners who may not yet have soldering skills but need to connect equipment with different connectors. It's one of the simplest ways to expand your RC setup's compatibility without requiring any technical expertise.
- Can I use this adaptor with my RC charging setup? — Yes, this adaptor is specifically highlighted as suitable for charging rigs and bench setups. If you're charging batteries with different connector types, or if your charger uses one standard and your batteries use another, this adaptor bridges that gap, allowing you to use a single charger with multiple connector types.
- Will this adaptor work with any RC model or power lead? — This adaptor specifically connects EC2 male connectors to Deans female connectors. It will work with any RC model, battery lead, or charger that has these specific connector types. Check your equipment to confirm you have an EC2 male on one side and a Deans female receptacle on the other.
- Is the Etronix brand reliable for RC accessories? — Etronix is a recognised manufacturer in the RC hobby, and their components are engineered for reliability in demanding RC environments. The EC2 Male to Female Deans Adaptor Lead is a straightforward component with no moving parts, making it highly durable and long-lasting with normal use.
- How does this compare to buying new leads with the correct connectors? — This adaptor is significantly more cost-effective than replacing entire power leads, battery leads, or charger cables. At just £2.59, it's an economical solution for connector compatibility issues, making it perfect for RC hobbyists managing equipment costs.
