Technical Performance
The Etronix Tamiya Charging Cable ET0271 is engineered with practical precision to deliver straightforward, dependable charging connectivity. The cable features industry-standard 4.0mm tube connectors that provide excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical stability, ensuring efficient power delivery from your charger to your battery pack. The Tamiya connector standard is one of the most widely adopted connection types in the RC hobby, particularly across mid-range and beginner-friendly RC cars, trucks and buggies available across the UK market. The cable's construction emphasises reliability and longevity, with materials and connectors chosen to withstand regular charging cycles and the occasional incidental bending or handling that comes with regular RC use. The 4.0mm tubes are substantial enough to handle the charging currents typical of hobby-grade LiPo batteries, making this cable suitable for use with single and multi-cell battery packs across a wide spectrum of RC vehicle types. The connector fit is precise, ensuring that whether you're connecting to a budget charger or a more advanced charging station, the connection will be secure and won't come loose during the charging process. Frequently Asked Questions
- What chargers and batteries is this Tamiya charging cable compatible with? — This cable is compatible with any charger and RC battery pack that features a Tamiya-style connector. The Tamiya connector is one of the most common standards in the RC hobby, particularly for mid-range and beginner RC cars, trucks, and buggies available in the UK. However, it's essential to always verify that both your charger and battery connections match before use to ensure safe, proper charging.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This charging cable is ideal for beginners and experienced RC enthusiasts alike. It's a simple, straightforward product with no complicated features — you simply plug it into your charger on one end and your battery on the other. It's an excellent spare to have in your RC toolkit, especially if you're new to the hobby and want a reliable backup charging solution.
- What is the connector type on this charging cable? — The Etronix Tamiya Charging Cable features Tamiya-standard connectors with 4.0mm tubes. This is the connector type you'll find on most hobby-grade RC batteries and chargers that use the Tamiya standard, making it widely compatible across numerous RC products available in the UK.
- Is this a male or female connection? — This cable features a male connector — it is designed to connect your charger to your battery, so it will connect to the female socket on your battery pack. It's the opposite end to what should be on your battery itself.
- Can I use this cable with multiple chargers and batteries? — Yes, this is one of the great advantages of a universal Tamiya charging cable. As long as both your charger and battery are equipped with Tamiya connectors, you can use this lead interchangeably between them, making it an economical solution for anyone with multiple RC vehicles or batteries.
- Why do I need a spare charging cable? — Having a spare charging cable is practical for several reasons. If your main charging lead becomes damaged or worn, a backup means you won't miss out on a charging session. Additionally, if you own multiple RC batteries, having an extra lead allows you to charge more battery packs simultaneously if you have multiple chargers available, maximising your charging flexibility.
