Overview
The Etronix PowerPal Compact X4 AC/DC Charger is the perfect companion for serious RC hobbyists who need to charge multiple battery packs efficiently, whether at home or out on the field. This versatile, multi-output charger delivers an impressive 400W of overall charge power distributed across four fully independent charging outputs, each capable of delivering up to 100W. Whether you're running an RC car UK setup with multiple LiPo batteries, managing NiMH packs for your RC crawler, or balancing a mixed fleet of different battery chemistries, the Compact X4 offers the flexibility and precision you need to keep your RC models powered and ready for action.
Designed with the modern RC enthusiast in mind, this European plug edition combines intelligent engineering with practical portability. The four independent outputs mean you can charge completely different battery types and sizes simultaneously—charge a 4S LiPo for your brushless RC car at the same time as a 2S pack for your RC drone or an 8S NiMH battery for your vintage RC truck, all without any compromise to charging speed or accuracy. The Compact X4 is your new go-to charger for universal charging needs, supporting LiPo, LiFe, LiIon, LiHV, NiMH, NiCd and lead-acid (PB) chemistries with precision balance charging built in to every channel.
Measuring just 135 x 140 x 45mm, this compact charger fits easily into your pit box, workshop shelf or field kit, making it an essential addition to any RC enthusiast's toolkit. Power it from standard UK mains (AC 100–240V) using the supplied mains cable, or switch to a dedicated 19–26V DC power supply when you're charging away from the workshop. Either way, you'll benefit from the same reliable, fast charging across all four independent channels with precise balance current monitoring that ensures consistent results and extends battery life.
Key Features
- Four Independent 100W Charging Outputs — With a total charge power capacity of 400W, the Compact X4 features four completely independent outputs rated at up to 100W each, allowing you to charge four different battery packs simultaneously without any reduction in charging speed or performance, making it ideal for RC hobbyists who maintain multiple vehicles or large battery collections.
- Flexible Input Options: AC and DC Power — The charger supports both mains AC input (100–240V) via the supplied European plug cable and 19–26V DC input, giving you complete flexibility to charge at home or in the field using a compatible DC power supply, making it suitable for workshop use and portable field charging alike.
- Supports Multiple Battery Chemistries — Charge LiPo, LiFe, LiIon and LiHV batteries in 1–4S configurations, NiMH and NiCd batteries in 1–8S configurations, and lead-acid (PB) batteries from 2–14V, providing universal compatibility across virtually any RC battery type you're likely to encounter in your hobby.
- Built-in Balance Charging with Precision Monitoring — Each channel incorporates dedicated balance ports with a 500mA balance current and exceptional balance precision of ±0.01V, ensuring that every cell in your battery pack is charged to precisely the same voltage, maximising battery lifespan and maintaining consistent performance across all your RC models.
- Programmable Per-Channel Settings — Each of the four outputs can be programmed independently, allowing you to set different charge currents (from 0.1A to 10.0A per channel) and configure each port for the specific battery chemistry and pack size you're charging, providing ultimate flexibility for mixed battery collections.
- XT60 Battery Connectors with Integrated Balance Ports — The charger uses the reliable and widely-adopted XT60 battery connector standard, with built-in balance ports that keep your charging setup tidy and compact, eliminating the need for bulky external balance connectors and reducing overall footprint.
- Backlit LCD Display for Easy Configuration — A clear, backlit LCD screen on the front of the unit allows you to easily monitor and adjust charging parameters for each channel, select battery chemistry, view charge status and monitor balance current, ensuring safe and accurate charging every time.
- Compact, Portable Design — At just 135mm x 140mm x 45mm, the Compact X4 is remarkably small for a four-channel charger, fitting easily into pit boxes, workshop shelves or travel kits without taking up excessive space, yet maintaining robust build quality and reliable performance.
Technical Performance
The Etronix PowerPal Compact X4 represents a significant step forward in multi-channel charging technology for the RC enthusiast community. With its 400W total charging capacity and four completely independent 100W channels, it delivers the power needed to service multiple RC vehicles quickly and efficiently. The charge current range of 0.1–10.0A per channel provides exceptional flexibility; you can trickle-charge delicate batteries at just 0.1A or push full 10A charging across all four channels simultaneously if your DC power supply can handle it. The AC input accepts standard European household mains power (100–240V), whilst the DC input option (19–26V) enables off-site charging when paired with a compatible DC power supply, making this charger suitable for workshop use, field events and transport to RC racing circuits across the UK and Europe.
Balance charging is handled with impressive precision thanks to the 500mA balance current capability and ±0.01V balance precision specification. This means each cell in your battery packs will be charged to within just 10 millivolts of every other cell, dramatically improving battery longevity and ensuring that you get consistent, predictable performance from your RC cars, trucks, crawlers and drones. The charger's intelligent chemistry detection allows you to confidently charge LiPo, LiFe, LiIon and LiHV packs (1–4S), NiMH and NiCd batteries (1–8S), and traditional lead-acid batteries (2–14V), making it a genuine universal charger for RC hobbyists with diverse battery collections. The robust engineering, compact aluminium chassis and professional-grade components ensure reliable operation session after session, whether you're a weekend basher, competition racer or serious RC collector maintaining a large fleet of models.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I charge different battery chemistries simultaneously on the Etronix Compact X4? — Yes, this is one of the charger's greatest strengths. Each of the four independent channels can be programmed separately for different battery types, so you can charge a 4S LiPo, a 2S LiIon, an 8S NiMH pack and a 12V lead-acid battery all at the same time without any issues. The backlit LCD display makes it straightforward to configure each channel independently.
- Is the PowerPal Compact X4 suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Whilst the Compact X4 is a professional-grade charger with advanced features, its intuitive backlit LCD interface and per-channel programming make it accessible to users of all experience levels. Whether you're just getting into RC cars or you're a seasoned competitor, this charger grows with your hobby. The comprehensive battery chemistry support means you won't outgrow it as your RC collection expands.
- What power supply do I need for the DC input? — The charger accepts 19–26V DC input. If you want to use the DC option for field charging away from mains power, you'll need a compatible 19–26V DC power supply. Many RC enthusiasts use dedicated RC charger power supplies or portable power stations that offer DC output in this voltage range.
- Can I really charge four batteries at full 100W simultaneously? — Yes. The Compact X4 delivers up to 100W per channel across all four outputs independently. However, your AC or DC power supply must be capable of providing sufficient total power; with four channels at 100W each, you're drawing up to 400W total. For AC mains use, this is typically not an issue with standard UK household circuits, but for DC operation, ensure your power supply can handle the full load.
- What's the difference between the Compact X4 and other multi-channel chargers? — The Compact X4 stands out for its combination of four genuinely independent channels (not shared power), universal battery chemistry support, compact 135 x 140 x 45mm footprint, built-in balance charging with exceptional ±0.01V precision, and the flexibility of both AC and DC input options. It represents excellent value for hobbyists who need to charge multiple batteries regularly.
- Do I need to buy charging leads separately? — Yes, charging leads and balance leads are not supplied with the charger. You'll need to source XT60 connector leads compatible with your charger's four outputs. Many RC retailers stock universal charging lead sets that include both main power connections and balance leads for various battery types.
