Technical Performance

The Element RC Enduro 12 Bushido represents a thoroughly modern approach to 1/12 scale rock crawling, combining precision engineering with user-friendly electronics that prioritise reliability and control. At the heart lies the Reedy Hi-Torque MT380 brushed motor paired with the integrated Flysky 2-in-1 brushed ESC and receiver unit featuring a 2.4GHz radio system, delivering smooth, predictable power delivery without the complexity of brushless systems. The 3-gear transmission with 13.98:1 ratio is the engineering centrepiece – this reduction is specifically calibrated for crawling applications where torque and slow-speed control matter infinitely more than top-end velocity. The forward-biased motor mount positioning ensures weight sits over the front tyres during climbs, directly improving traction when navigating steep rock faces and technical ascents. The drivetrain combines low-friction slider-type centre driveshafts with metal front CVA drive axles and metal ring and pinion gears throughout, eliminating the flex and slop that compromises control on demanding terrain. The 4-link suspension geometry front and rear uses metal pivot balls and supports fluid-filled threaded shock bodies that provide progressive damping, allowing the chassis to absorb impacts whilst maintaining chassis attitude stability. The servo-on-axle steering configuration delivers direct, lag-free response to transmitter input, critical when threading through technical sections where precision steering makes the difference between success and getting stuck. The included 850mAh 7.4V 2-cell Li-Ion battery provides sufficient runtime for recreational sessions, and the integrated LED lighting controller in the ESC allows optional lighting system integration for realistic night-time trail operation. Build quality throughout emphasises durability – rubber-sealed ball bearings prevent moisture ingress, solid front and rear axles eliminate CV joint complications, and the thermoformed polycarbonate body can handle inevitable impacts without cracking or shattering. The 12mm wide-stance aluminium wheel hexes provide excellent stance whilst keeping rotational mass minimal, contributing to responsive handling and efficient power delivery. Whether you're tackling rocky terrain in the UK countryside or technical backyard obstacles, the Enduro 12 Bushido delivers the torque, control and durability required for serious rock crawling without the maintenance demands or complexity of larger vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Element RC Enduro 12 suitable for beginners to RC crawling? — Absolutely. The Enduro 12 is designated as Skill Level 1, meaning no assembly or technical knowledge beyond basic operation is required. Everything arrives pre-built and pre-configured, the included transmitter is already bound to the receiver, and the brushed motor system is more forgiving and predictable than brushless alternatives, making it ideal for newcomers whilst remaining engaging for experienced drivers. The integrated ESC/receiver and transmitter eliminate the confusion of separate component matching.
  • What battery does the Element RC Enduro 12 Bushido need? — The truck is supplied with an 850mAh 7.4V 2-cell Li-Ion battery and matching charger, so you can start driving immediately upon unboxing. This battery provides sufficient runtime for recreational trail sessions, though serious enthusiasts may wish to purchase an additional battery to extend play sessions without waiting for recharge.
  • How much assembly is required out of the box? — None. The Enduro 12 Bushido arrives completely assembled with all electronics pre-installed, body mounted, wheels fitted and transmitter pre-bound to the receiver. You simply charge the battery and drive – no soldering, no complex setup procedures, no separate radio programming required.
  • What is the difference between the Enduro 12 Bushido and other Enduro 12 variants? — Element RC produces the Enduro 12 platform with different body designs; the Bushido is the overlanding-themed variant with a dropped bed design, authentic grille detailing, roll bar and mirrors. Other variants include the Ecto and Sendero bodies, which feature different styling but utilise the same proven chassis underneath. The electronics and drivetrain remain identical across variants.
  • Can the Enduro 12 handle serious rock crawling and technical terrain? — Yes. Despite the 1/12 scale size, the Enduro 12 features professional-grade rock crawling engineering including 4-link suspension, servo-on-axle steering, metal ring and pinion gears, and a 13.98:1 transmission ratio specifically calibrated for slow, controlled climbing. It's fully capable of navigating rocky terrain, steep inclines and technical obstacles that would challenge less sophisticated vehicles.
  • What is the transmission ratio and why does it matter? — The Enduro 12 features a 13.98:1 gear reduction through a 3-gear transmission. This ratio is specifically engineered for rock crawling applications, providing exceptional torque for slow-speed climbing whilst maintaining controllable speeds for technical manoeuvring. Lower ratios sacrifice torque for higher speeds, whilst this specific ratio prioritises crawling capability over top speed.
  • Does the Enduro 12 come with lighting capability? — The Flysky 2-in-1 ESC includes a built-in LED lighting controller, meaning you can optionally add LED lighting systems to illuminate the vehicle for night-time operation or realistic night-trail aesthetics. The controller is integrated but LEDs themselves are not included in the box.
  • What radio system does the Enduro 12 use? — The truck includes a Flysky 2.4GHz 2-channel radio transmitter with a 2-in-1 integrated receiver/ESC unit. The 2.4GHz frequency band provides interference-free operation, and the transmitter is pre-bound to the receiver, requiring no setup. The system supports 2-channel control (throttle and steering) which is standard for crawlers where additional functions like lights are controlled through the integrated ESC.
  • Is the Enduro 12 waterproof? — Whilst not specifically rated as fully waterproof, the Flysky 2-in-1 ESC is designed for outdoor use and the rubber-sealed ball bearings throughout the drivetrain provide protection against moisture ingress. The vehicle can handle damp conditions and light water crossings, though prolonged submersion or heavy rain operation should be avoided to preserve electronics longevity.
  • What is the Servo On Axle (SOA) steering system? — SOA positioning mounts the steering servo directly on the front axle rather than in the chassis, allowing the entire axle to articulate and steer as a unit. This configuration, combined with metal steering links and pivot balls, delivers immediate, precise steering response without servo lag or linkage slack, critical for threading through technical obstacles where steering precision determines success.
