Overview

The Carisma GT24 RS 2.0 Brushed Edition is a 1/24th retro micro rally car that brings the classic golden era of 1970s and 1980s rally racing to life. This ready to run RC car UK is inspired by the nostalgic design of classic RWD rally pioneers, but with a modern twist—it features a contemporary 4WD driveline that combines the best of retro aesthetics with cutting-edge RC performance. Whether you're searching for an affordable ready to run RC or a beginner-friendly brushed RC car, the GT24 RS 2.0 delivers exceptional value and authentic rally car handling in a compact, highly collectible package.

This is the brushed edition, making it an excellent choice for those new to the hobby and casual RC enthusiasts who appreciate smooth acceleration, straightforward maintenance, and excellent reliability. The innovative ARC-2000MT 2-in-1 ESC and receiver system simplifies the control setup, eliminating the need for separate components and making your first RC experience as hassle-free as possible. Despite its compact 1/24th scale, the GT24 RS 2.0 is a fully featured hobby-grade RC vehicle with ball-raced drivetrain, genuine licensed bodywork, and performance-oriented suspension and damping systems that rival cars costing significantly more.

Fast, fun, affordable, upgradable, robust, and collectible—the Carisma GT24 RS 2.0 Brushed Edition represents everything a self-respecting petrol head could desire in a micro rally car. It's an ideal entry point into the world of RC hobby-grade vehicles, yet sophisticated enough to satisfy experienced operators who appreciate precision engineering and authentic rally car design.

Key Features

  • 130-Size Brushed Motor — The standard motor provides smooth, progressive acceleration that's perfect for learning throttle control and developing driving technique, whilst requiring minimal maintenance compared to brushless alternatives.
  • ARC-2000MT 2-in-1 Integrated ESC/Receiver — This innovative system combines the electronic speed controller and radio receiver into a single unit, simplifying the electronics package, reducing weight, and making the car more affordable and user-friendly than traditional setups.
  • 4WD Driveline with Fully Ball-Raced Transmission — All four wheels receive power through a precision ball-raced drivetrain, ensuring reliable power delivery, consistent handling characteristics, and extended component lifespan even with regular use.
  • CTX-2000 2.4GHz Radio Transmitter — The included 2.4GHz frequency-hopping technology provides interference-free control and reliable range, with modern digital proportional steering and throttle control for precise handling.
  • Low-Maintenance Friction Dampers — Purpose-designed friction-based shock absorbers offer predictable damping characteristics without the complexity of oil-filled hydraulic shocks, making setup and maintenance straightforward for beginners.
  • High-Traction Tarmac Tyres — Specially formulated rubber compound provides excellent grip on on-road surfaces whilst remaining durable enough for varied terrain, ensuring consistent performance during every outing.
  • 3-Wire Servo System — The 2.0 chassis upgrade includes professional-grade 3-wire servo connectivity, enhancing signal reliability and performance compared to older 2-wire systems.
  • Officially Licensed Bodyshell — The genuine licensed rally car body delivers authentic design details and factory-quality paint, making this a collectible piece that looks as impressive on the shelf as it performs on the track.
  • Hobby-Grade Steering Servo — A proper hobby-grade servo ensures responsive steering inputs and precise directional control, providing the level of accuracy expected from a genuine RC car rather than a toy.
  • Upgrade Path to Brushless — The chassis remains fully compatible with the ARC-24 brushless ESC and 8000KV brushless motor, allowing you to unlock higher speeds and efficiency whenever you're ready to progress, protecting your investment for years to come.
  • Complete RTR Package — Everything required to start driving is included in the box, from the transmitter and battery to the charger and even AA batteries for the remote, eliminating frustration and hidden costs.

Technical Performance

The Carisma GT24 RS 2.0 Brushed Edition represents a significant step forward in micro rally car engineering. At 1/24th scale with a compact 121mm wheelbase and 89mm width, this is genuinely one of the smallest hobby-grade RC cars available, yet it delivers full-size performance credentials. The 130-size brushed motor provides ample power whilst maintaining the linear throttle response that makes brushed systems ideal for developing driving skills. The ARC-2000MT 2-in-1 ESC/receiver handles power delivery with smooth, predictable curves, and the 7.2V NiMH battery pack provides sufficient runtime for extended driving sessions without the complexity of lithium batteries. The fully ball-raced 4WD drivetrain ensures power reaches all four wheels through precision-engineered transmission components that minimise friction and wear, whilst the friction damper suspension system offers predictable handling without complex setup procedures. High-traction tarmac-specific tyres grip tarmac surfaces effectively, and the low-maintenance design means you'll spend more time driving and less time troubleshooting. The hobby-grade steering servo delivers genuine precision steering control, not the sluggish response found in toy-grade cars. This is engineering designed for real RC enthusiasts who want genuine performance, reliability, and authenticity in a compact, accessible package.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Carisma GT24 RS 2.0 Brushed Edition suitable for complete beginners to RC? — Absolutely. This brushed edition is specifically designed with beginners in mind. The 130-size brushed motor provides smooth, linear acceleration that's much easier to control than high-powered brushless systems, and the ARC-2000MT integrated ESC/receiver system eliminates the complexity of separate electronics. The simple friction damper suspension requires no complex tuning, and the complete RTR package includes everything needed to start driving immediately without additional purchases.
  • What battery does the GT24 RS 2.0 use and how long does it run? — The car includes a 7.2V NiMH micro stick pack battery and a Safe 5V USB charger. The 7.2V NiMH chemistry provides reliable power delivery suitable for casual driving, and charging via USB from any standard power source is straightforward and safe. Runtime depends on driving style and conditions, but the micro stick pack provides adequate duration for typical hobby sessions.
  • Can I upgrade this to a faster brushless system? — Yes, one of the GT24 RS 2.0's greatest strengths is its upgrade potential. The chassis is fully compatible with Carisma's ARC-24 brushless ESC and the world-famous 8000KV brushless motor. Simply swap the ESC and motor when you're ready for higher speeds and improved efficiency, protecting your investment and allowing you to grow with the hobby.
  • How does the brushed motor compare to brushless in a micro car like this? — Brushed motors offer several advantages for the GT24 RS 2.0, particularly for beginners. They deliver smoother acceleration progression, require minimal maintenance, and provide forgiving throttle control that helps new drivers develop technique. The brushed solution is also significantly more affordable than brushless alternatives, making this an excellent entry point into quality RC cars without breaking the bank.
  • What is the difference between this RS 2.0 model and other GT24 variants? — The GT24 RS 2.0 is the brushed edition focused on affordability and beginner-friendliness, featuring the 130-size brushed motor and simplified ARC-2000MT system. Carisma offers other GT24 2.0 variants with different licensed bodyshells (such as the Subaru Impreza STI, Toyota Celica GT4, and Mitsubishi Evo 4) and various performance specifications. The RS 2.0 emphasises the classic retro rally car aesthetic with modern 4WD reliability.
  • Is this a toy or a genuine hobby-grade RC car? — This is absolutely a genuine hobby-grade RC car. It features a hobby-grade steering servo, fully ball-raced drivetrain, genuine licensed bodywork, professional 2.4GHz radio system, and a proper brushed motor—not the simplified systems found in toy-grade vehicles. This is a real RC car suitable for serious enthusiasts and beginners alike.
  • What surfaces can I drive the GT24 RS 2.0 on? — The high-traction tarmac-specific tyres are optimised for smooth on-road surfaces such as tarmac, concrete, or polished indoor floors. The 4WD system and low centre of gravity provide stable handling on these surfaces, though the car can manage light off-road use, it's primarily designed as an on-road rally car.
  • How long does the 7.2V NiMH battery take to charge? — Charging time depends on the charger and power source used. The included Safe 5V USB charger is designed for safe, reliable charging from any standard USB power adapter or computer, though charging times may be longer than high-current chargers. Plan for a charge before your next driving session.
