Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 37.5 WT is an essential maintenance fluid for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision tuning and optimal shock absorber performance. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your RC buggy, a weekend basher pushing your RC monster truck to the limit, or an RC crawler navigator tackling challenging terrain, having the correct shock oil viscosity is crucial for suspension setup and handling characteristics. This 150ml bottle of ultra-pure silicone shock oil represents professional-grade fluid that serious RC hobbyists rely upon to achieve consistent damping performance and predictable vehicle behaviour on track or trail.
Shock oil is one of the most overlooked yet critically important consumables in RC motorsport. The viscosity you choose directly affects how your suspension responds to bumps, jumps and cornering forces. Too thin and your shocks won't provide enough resistance; too thick and your vehicle will feel stiff and unresponsive. The Corally 37.5 WT viscosity sits in the medium range, making it an excellent choice for a wide variety of RC car types and driving conditions across the UK's diverse racing and bashing environments.
Corally has built a reputation for producing high-quality RC maintenance products, and this shock oil exemplifies their commitment to purity and consistency. The ultra-pure silicone formulation ensures predictable performance lap after lap, making it the go-to choice for RC enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on suspension tuning accuracy.
Key Features
- Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — The 100% pure silicone composition guarantees consistent viscosity characteristics and eliminates impurities that could affect shock performance, ensuring your suspension behaves identically from one run to the next and allowing precise tuning of your RC car's handling.
- 37.5 WT Viscosity Grade — This medium-weight viscosity rating makes the oil suitable for a broad range of RC vehicles and conditions, providing an ideal balance between damping resistance and responsiveness that works well for both racing and recreational bashing.
- 150ml Bottle Size — The generous 150ml capacity provides enough shock oil to service multiple vehicles or perform numerous shock refills, representing excellent value for serious RC hobbyists who maintain several RC cars or need regular maintenance access.
- Professional-Grade Quality — Formulated to meet the exacting standards of competitive RC racers and professional mechanics, this shock oil delivers the precision and reliability needed for consistent performance in both track racing and off-road RC car applications.
- Easy to Apply — The liquid formula dispenses smoothly from the bottle, allowing precise control when filling shock bodies or adjusting damping characteristics on your RC buggy, RC monster truck, RC truggy or other RC vehicles.
- Temperature Stable Performance — Ultra-pure silicone oil maintains consistent viscosity across varying ambient temperatures, ensuring your suspension setup remains reliable whether you're racing on a hot summer day or driving through cooler UK weather conditions.
Technical Performance
Shock oil selection is a fundamental aspect of RC vehicle tuning that directly influences suspension behaviour and overall handling characteristics. The Corally 37.5 WT represents a mid-range viscosity that accommodates a wide spectrum of driving styles and track conditions, from high-speed circuit racing to slow-speed rock crawling. The ultra-pure silicone formulation eliminates contaminants that can accumulate in shock bodies and cause performance degradation, ensuring your dampers function consistently throughout extended driving sessions. The 150ml bottle capacity allows for complete shock servicing of multiple RC cars, making it an economical choice for those who maintain several vehicles or who regularly refresh their shock oil as part of comprehensive maintenance routines. Whether you're dialling in a 1/10 scale RC buggy for a local UK race meeting or setting up a 1/8 scale RC truggy for competitive events, having access to high-quality shock oil in the correct viscosity grade is essential for achieving the suspension behaviour you require. The pure silicone composition resists oxidation and breakdown, maintaining performance consistency and prolonging the service life of your expensive shock absorber components.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does the 37.5 WT viscosity rating mean for my RC car? — The WT designation stands for weight, indicating the viscosity or thickness of the shock oil. 37.5 WT is a medium-weight oil that provides balanced damping for most driving conditions and RC vehicle types. Lighter oils (like 20 WT) compress more easily for softer suspension, whilst heavier oils (like 50 WT) provide stiffer damping for firmer suspension response. The 37.5 WT sits in the middle, making it versatile for racing, bashing and recreational driving.
- Is this shock oil suitable for beginners? — Yes, the 37.5 WT viscosity is an excellent starting point for RC beginners because it provides balanced performance across various driving conditions without requiring extensive tuning knowledge. Many manufacturers recommend 37.5 WT as a standard fill viscosity for their shock absorbers, making it a safe choice if you're new to RC cars and suspension setup.
- How often should I change my RC shock oil? — Shock oil should be inspected regularly for contamination, cloudiness or discolouration, which indicates water or dirt ingress. Many serious RC racers change their shock oil monthly or after muddy track sessions. For casual bashers, changing oil every few months during regular use is reasonable. If you notice your shocks feeling less responsive or if you've driven through puddles or dusty conditions, a shock oil change is advisable.
- Why choose Corally shock oil over cheaper alternatives? — Corally's ultra-pure silicone formulation guarantees consistency and purity that cheaper oils may not provide. Lower-quality shock oils can contain contaminants that cause erratic damping behaviour and accelerate wear on internal shock components. Investing in quality shock oil protects your shock absorbers, which are expensive components, and ensures predictable vehicle handling that's critical for competitive racing.
- What's the difference between silicone and mineral shock oils? — Silicone oils, like this Corally product, provide superior stability across temperature ranges and resist breakdown better than mineral oils. Silicone is the standard choice for modern RC vehicles because it maintains consistent viscosity and performance. Most contemporary RC shocks are designed specifically for silicone oil.
- Will 150ml be enough for my RC car collection? — A typical RC shock holds about 10-15ml of oil, meaning the 150ml bottle can service 10-15 shocks depending on shock size. If you own 2-4 RC cars (with 4 shocks each), this bottle provides several complete servicing cycles. For serious racers with multiple vehicles, having multiple bottles on hand is prudent.
