Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 30 WT is a professional-grade suspension fluid designed specifically for RC shock absorbers across all scales and vehicle types. Whether you're running a competitive 1/10 scale RC buggy, a high-speed RC monster truck, or any other RC car platform, maintaining the correct shock oil viscosity is absolutely essential for achieving optimal suspension performance and handling characteristics. This 150ml bottle of ultra-pure silicone shock oil delivers consistent damping properties that RC enthusiasts and professional racers throughout the UK rely upon for both casual bashing and competitive racing.

Shock oil is one of the most critical tuning elements in RC vehicle setup, yet it's often overlooked by newcomers to the hobby. The viscosity grade you choose directly impacts how quickly your suspension compresses and extends, affecting everything from cornering grip to jump landing stability. Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone formulation is manufactured to exacting standards, ensuring that every millilitre delivers precisely the damping characteristics you need. Whether you're fine-tuning your RC car's suspension for a specific track surface or simply maintaining your beloved RC model, this shock oil is an indispensable part of any serious RC enthusiast's workshop.

Available now at RC Model Shop, we stock this product because it represents excellent value for UK RC hobbyists who demand quality and consistency. The 150ml bottle provides ample fluid for multiple shock absorbers, making it economical for both individual builds and ongoing maintenance of your RC vehicle collection.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which means it resists temperature fluctuations far better than mineral oils, ensuring your suspension performs consistently whether you're racing in summer heat or autumn coolness across the UK.
  • 30 WT Viscosity Grade — The 30 weight specification represents a medium viscosity that works excellently for general-purpose suspension tuning on most RC cars and trucks, providing a balanced platform for both beginners learning suspension basics and experienced racers making fine adjustments.
  • 150ml Bottle Size — This generous 150ml capacity is sufficient for filling multiple shock absorbers or several complete shock rebuild cycles, making it an economical choice for RC enthusiasts who maintain multiple vehicles or run regular maintenance schedules on their RC collection.
  • Precise Damping Control — By using the correct shock oil viscosity, you gain the ability to fine-tune your RC vehicle's handling characteristics, controlling how your suspension responds to bumps, corners, and landings, which is essential for both recreational bashing and competitive racing.
  • Professional-Grade Quality — Corally's reputation as a manufacturer of high-quality RC components means this shock oil meets strict quality standards, ensuring consistency from bottle to bottle so you can reliably replicate your suspension tuning across multiple RC vehicles.
  • Compatible with All Shock Types — Whether your RC car features double-wishbone suspension, independent double-wishbone rear ends, or any other shock absorber design, this universal shock oil works with all standard RC suspension systems.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 30 WT represents the technical pinnacle of shock fluid formulation for RC vehicles. At 30 weight viscosity, this oil provides the sweet spot for most RC applications, offering sufficient resistance to damping movement without creating the sluggish, over-damped feel that heavier 50 or 75 WT oils can produce, and without the overly responsive characteristics of lighter 10 or 15 WT fluids. The pure silicone construction is critical because silicone resists shearing far better than traditional mineral-based shock oils, meaning the fluid maintains consistent viscosity across the wide temperature ranges experienced during RC driving sessions throughout the changing British seasons. This consistency is absolutely vital when you're trying to dial in precise suspension tuning — you need to know that your shock behaviour remains stable whether you're running in cool spring temperatures or during warm summer competition events. The 150ml bottle format provides sufficient volume for thorough shock absorber servicing and maintenance, with enough reserve for experimenting with different viscosity grades if you wish to fine-tune your setup. When used in conjunction with proper shock rebuild procedures and quality shock absorber hardware, this oil helps ensure that your RC suspension delivers responsive, controlled, and predictable handling that can mean the difference between victory and defeat in competitive racing scenarios.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 30 WT mean, and how do I know if it's right for my RC car? — WT stands for 'weight' and refers to the viscosity or thickness of the oil. 30 WT is a medium viscosity suitable for most standard RC vehicles including buggies, trucks, and monster trucks. Heavier weights (50 WT, 75 WT) slow down suspension response for softer, more controlled damping, whilst lighter weights (10 WT, 15 WT) speed up suspension response for more sensitive, reactive handling. If you're unsure, 30 WT is the universal starting point for most RC enthusiasts.
  • Is shock oil the same as differential oil? — No, these are entirely different products. Shock oil is designed to provide dampening in suspension cylinders, whilst differential oil lubricates the gears in your RC car's differential. Using the wrong type of oil in either component will result in poor performance. Always use proper shock oil in shock absorbers.
  • How often should I change my RC car's shock oil? — For casual bashers, shock oil typically lasts an entire season of regular use. For competitive racers running multiple events weekly, shock servicing might occur every few weeks. You'll know it's time to change the oil when your suspension feels inconsistent or when you spot discoloration or contamination in the shock cylinders during maintenance.
  • Can I mix different brands or viscosity grades of shock oil? — Mixing different shock oils is not recommended as it creates unpredictable damping characteristics. Stick with one brand and viscosity grade per vehicle, and only change viscosity when intentionally adjusting your suspension setup. When you do change viscosity, fully drain and flush the shock cylinders before refilling with the new grade.
  • Is pure silicone shock oil better than mineral oil? — Yes, silicone shock oil offers several advantages including superior temperature stability, better resistance to viscosity breakdown, and superior performance across varying ambient temperatures. Pure silicone formulations like this Corally product are the industry standard for quality RC applications throughout the UK and worldwide.
  • What tools do I need to service my shocks with this oil? — You'll need a shock rebuild stand or vice, shock shims appropriate to your vehicle, a small syringe or shock filler tool for precise oil measurement, and clean rags. Most experienced RC enthusiasts maintain a complete shock servicing kit in their workshop.
  • Is this product suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst shock servicing might initially seem intimidating, learning to maintain and tune your RC suspension is one of the most rewarding aspects of the hobby. Starting with a quality oil like this Corally product gives beginners the confidence that they're using professional-grade materials, making their first shock rebuild experience a positive one.
