Whether you're piloting a monster truck across challenging terrain, tackling a crawler course, or demanding ultimate digital performance from your RC car, this servo delivers the reliability and responsiveness that competitive racers and serious hobbyists expect. Developed with the racer in mind, this servo represents the pinnacle of Team Corally's servo engineering, combining cutting-edge coreless motor technology with ultra-high torque output to give you the control advantage you need when it matters most.

This isn't just another servo – it's engineered for those who refuse to compromise on performance. The CS5245 HV brings together premium construction materials, advanced digital technology, and innovative design to create a servo that excels in the most demanding RC situations. From weekend bashers to competitive racers in the UK RC scene, this servo has earned its reputation as a trusted component for serious RC enthusiasts who demand nothing but the best from their equipment.

Key Features

  • Coreless Motor Technology — The coreless motor design eliminates the iron core found in traditional servo motors, resulting in faster response times, smoother operation, and superior acceleration characteristics. This means your steering inputs are translated to actual movement almost instantaneously, giving you the precision control needed for technical courses and high-speed manoeuvres.
  • Ultra High Torque Output — Delivering an impressive 46.9 kg/cm of torque at 8.4V, this servo generates the power needed to hold steering angles even under extreme load conditions. Whether you're fighting through mud, sand, or rocks, the CS5245 maintains absolute control without binding or slipping, making it ideal for monster truck and crawler applications where holding power is critical.
  • High Voltage Compatibility (6.0V - 8.4V) — The servo operates across an extended voltage range, allowing you to tailor performance to your specific needs. Run it at 6.0V for standard operation, increase to 7.4V for enhanced torque and speed, or push it to 8.4V for maximum performance on high-voltage LiPo battery setups commonly used in modern RC cars.
  • Steel Gear Construction — Rather than relying on plastic or composite gears that can strip or wear quickly under load, the CS5245 features robust steel gears throughout the gear train. Steel gears offer superior durability, longer service life, and the ability to handle the extreme loads placed on servo gears in competitive RC racing and bashing.
  • Ball Raced Design — The servo incorporates ball bearings throughout its mechanical assembly, reducing friction and allowing for smooth, efficient operation. This engineering approach extends the servo's lifespan, reduces heat generation during extended use, and contributes to the servo's overall precision and reliability in demanding applications.
  • Full CNC Machined Aluminium Case — The entire servo housing is machined from solid aluminium using CNC precision equipment, creating a rigid structure that resists flex and maintains alignment under load. The aluminium construction also provides excellent heat dissipation, helping the servo stay cool during extended use at high voltage.
  • Water and Dust Resistant — With rubber sealing throughout the design, the servo resists water ingress and dust contamination, making it suitable for use in wet conditions, muddy environments, and dusty terrain. This protection extends the servo's service life and maintains consistent performance even when operating in challenging outdoor conditions common to UK RC events.
  • Digital HV Technology — This is a fully digital high-voltage servo, meaning it processes commands electronically with no analogue limitations. Digital technology enables finer resolution, faster response times, and more sophisticated control algorithms compared to traditional analogue servos, giving you a tangible performance advantage in competitive situations.
  • 25T Spline 6.0mm Interface — The servo features a universal JR connector compatible with most modern RC radio systems, plus a standard 25T servo spline (6.0mm) that works with the vast majority of servo horn options available on the RC market, ensuring easy integration into your existing setup.

Technical Performance

The CORALLY CS5245 represents a significant leap forward in servo performance, combining multiple advanced technologies to deliver exceptional results. At its core sits a coreless motor – a engineering choice that provides measurably faster response times compared to traditional cored motors found in budget servos. The motor drives through a carefully engineered gear train constructed entirely from hardened steel, a material selection that directly addresses the weak point in many servos where plastic gears fail under stress. Ball bearing support throughout the drive train ensures smooth, efficient power delivery with minimal friction losses.

Performance figures speak volumes about this servo's capabilities. At 6.0V, it delivers 37.5 kg/cm of torque whilst completing a 60-degree sweep in just 0.12 seconds. Increase the voltage to 7.4V (a common setting for modern LiPo battery-powered RC cars in the UK) and torque climbs to 42.8 kg/cm whilst speed improves to 0.11 seconds per 60 degrees. Push it to 8.4V – achievable with fully charged 2S or higher capacity LiPo systems – and you unlock the full potential: 46.9 kg/cm of torque with a blistering 0.10 second response time. This voltage scalability gives you flexibility to match performance to your specific RC vehicle and driving demands.

The servo's construction methodology reflects Team Corally's racing heritage. The full CNC machined aluminium case isn't simply for aesthetics – it provides structural rigidity that prevents flexing under load, maintains precise gear alignment, and actively dissipates heat generated during extended use. The direct drive positioning system uses a VR potentiometer to provide real-time feedback of the servo shaft position, enabling the digital electronics to make microsecond-level corrections that keep the servo holding exactly where you command. Weighing just 73 grams, the servo offers an excellent weight-to-power ratio that minimises the impact on your RC vehicle's overall mass whilst delivering the torque and precision you demand.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the CORALLY CS5245 suitable for monster trucks and crawlers? — Absolutely. This servo was specifically engineered for applications requiring high torque and reliable steering control in challenging terrain. The 46.9 kg/cm torque output at 8.4V provides the holding power needed to maintain steering angles through mud, sand, rocks and obstacles. The water-resistant sealing makes it ideal for wet conditions often encountered in UK RC events.
  • What voltage should I run this servo at? — The servo operates optimally across the 6.0V to 8.4V range. For standard operation, 6.0V is suitable. For improved performance, run it at 7.4V (achievable with a 2S LiPo battery). For maximum torque and speed, use 8.4V (from a freshly charged 2S LiPo or higher capacity packs with appropriate BEC output). Your choice should match your RC car's electrical system and battery setup.
  • How does the coreless motor improve servo performance? — Traditional servos use iron cores in their motors, which add weight and inertia. The coreless design eliminates this, allowing the motor to accelerate faster and respond quicker to radio commands. In practical terms, this means sharper steering response, faster servo centering, and more precise control – particularly noticeable when driving technical courses or competing at speed.
  • Is this servo waterproof for muddy conditions? — The servo features water and dust resistant construction with rubber sealing, making it suitable for wet, muddy, and dusty environments. Whilst not fully submersible, it will handle the moisture exposure typical of UK RC bashing and competitive events. The sealed design also protects internal components from dust contamination that can compromise servo longevity.
  • What radio systems are compatible with this servo? — The servo features a universal JR connector, which is the industry standard. It's compatible with virtually all modern RC radio systems including Spektrum, Futaba, and other leading brands that support standard JR protocol. Check your radio's compatibility if you're using a specialist system.
  • How does the ball bearing construction benefit servo operation? — Ball bearings throughout the servo's mechanical assembly minimise friction between moving parts. This reduces heat generation, improves efficiency, extends component lifespan, and contributes to the servo's precision. Servos without ball bearing support experience more friction, generate more heat, and wear out faster under similar operating conditions.
  • Can I use this servo in my existing RC car UK setup? — If your RC car uses a standard servo connector (JR universal compatibility is standard), then yes. The servo's 25T spline (6.0mm) also matches the vast majority of servo horn options available. The main consideration is ensuring your radio receiver and battery system can supply the 6.0V-8.4V operating range.
  • What makes steel gears superior to plastic alternatives? — Steel gears are significantly harder and more durable than plastic. Under the extreme loads placed on servo gears during steering inputs, plastic gears can strip, crack, or deform permanently. Steel gears maintain their teeth profile indefinitely, translating to longer servo lifespan, consistent performance, and reduced replacement costs over time.
