Key Features

  • 80 Watt Power Output — The substantial 80-watt heating capacity means the iron reaches working temperature quickly and maintains consistent heat even when soldering larger components or heavy battery connectors, ensuring reliable connections every time without thermal lag.
  • Digital Display and PID Temperature Control — An LED display shows real-time temperature readings in both Celsius and Fahrenheit, whilst sophisticated Digital PID temperature correction maintains accuracy within ±2°C above 200°C, giving you absolute control over heat application for different solder types and component sizes.
  • Exceptionally Wide Temperature Range — The adjustable temperature range from 100°C through to 500°C (212°F to 932°F) covers every soldering application imaginable, from delicate RC receiver connections to robust XT60 battery terminals, all with the same reliable equipment.
  • Integrated PTC Active Ceramic Heater — This advanced heating element delivers rapid heat-up times and exceptional temperature stability, protecting your components from thermal shock whilst ensuring consistent melting of solder across the entire work area.
  • Professional Anti-Static Design — Critical for RC electronics, the anti-static construction protects sensitive components from electrostatic discharge damage, which can destroy expensive brushless ESC systems and flight controllers even if they appear to work initially.
  • Auto-Sleep and Auto-Off Safety Functions — Automatic sleep mode activates after periods of inactivity to conserve energy and extend equipment life, whilst the auto-off safety function provides complete power shutdown after extended non-use, ideal for safe workshop operation and energy efficiency.
  • Temperature Lock Function — Once you dial in your ideal soldering temperature for a specific task, the temperature lock prevents accidental adjustment, ensuring consistent results across multiple connections without requiring constant temperature tweaking.
  • Energy Saving Mode — Intelligent power management reduces energy consumption during operation, keeping your workshop electricity costs down whilst maintaining full soldering performance whenever you need it.
  • 4.0mm Bevel C-Type Soldering Tip — The included soldering tip features a professional bevel design that distributes heat efficiently across connections, the 4.0mm size balancing precision with heat transfer capability for most RC applications.
  • Integrated Soldering Tin Dispenser — Built-in solder holder keeps your working material readily accessible and organised on the station itself, reducing fumbling for solder and improving overall workflow during assembly sessions.
  • Dual Integrated Tip Cleaners — Both brass wool and foam cleaner options are built into the station, allowing you to choose between aggressive tip cleaning with brass wool or gentler foam cleaning depending on your solder type and tip condition.
  • Professional Third-Hand Clamps — The included left and right third-hand clamps with flexible mounting allow you to secure components and wires precisely whilst your hands are free to manage the iron and solder, absolutely essential for accurate soldering work.
  • Handy Carrying Case Included — The protective case keeps your entire soldering station secure for transport to RC clubs, workshops or competitive events, with dedicated compartments for the iron, tips, tools and accessories.

Technical Performance

The CORALLY DSS PRO 80W Digital Soldering Station represents serious engineering designed specifically for the needs of precision electronics work in RC hobbyist environments. The 80-watt power output combined with the integrated PTC active ceramic heating element delivers exceptional heat capacity with rapid recovery time—critical when soldering multiple connections in sequence or working with components that require substantial heat transfer like XT60 battery connectors or large capacitors found in modern RC control systems. Temperature stability maintained to within ±2°C above 200°C ensures repeatability across your entire project, meaning your first connection and your hundredth connection receive identical thermal treatment. The temperature compensation range of ±50°C provides calibration flexibility to account for ambient temperature variations in your workshop environment, ensuring accuracy whether you're soldering in winter conditions or summer heat. The soldering iron itself measures 148mm in handle length with a 59mm tip, providing excellent balance and control during delicate work, whilst the generous 970mm cable length gives you freedom of movement around your workbench. The compact station base measures just 185mm × 145mm, fitting neatly into workshop spaces whilst remaining stable and professional. At 516 grams total weight, the entire station remains portable enough for transport to RC events yet substantial enough to feel like proper professional equipment. Tip ground impedance is maintained below 0.1 ohm with tip ground voltage under 2mV—both critical specifications for protecting sensitive RC electronics like flight controllers and brushless ESCs from electrical damage during soldering. The AC input voltage range of 220-230V 50-60Hz ensures compatibility throughout the UK and European markets with standard mains electricity, whilst the 830mm power cable provides ample reach to standard workshop outlets.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the CORALLY DSS PRO 80W soldering station suitable for beginners learning to solder RC components? — Absolutely yes. Whilst the DSS PRO 80 is a professional-grade station, it's remarkably beginner-friendly thanks to its simple digital interface, automatic temperature control, and safety features like auto-off and auto-sleep modes. The comprehensive accessory package including dual third-hand clamps and tip cleaners makes it much easier to learn proper soldering technique compared to cheaper equipment. Beginners benefit enormously from the precise temperature control, which eliminates the guesswork of manual irons.
  • What makes the anti-static design important for my RC soldering projects? — Modern RC electronics including brushless ESC systems, flight controllers, and advanced receivers contain sensitive semiconductor components that can be permanently damaged by static electricity. You might not realise the damage has occurred until the component fails during a crucial moment. The anti-static design of the DSS PRO 80, combined with its low tip ground voltage of under 2mV, actively protects these expensive components from electrostatic discharge damage, making it the responsible choice for protecting your investment in quality RC equipment.
  • Can I solder both small delicate connections and heavy battery terminals with the same station? — Yes, perfectly. The wide temperature range from 100°C to 500°C allows you to dial in the exact heat needed for different applications. For delicate RC receiver connections you might set 250-300°C, whilst heavy XT60 battery connectors benefit from the full 400-450°C range. The digital temperature lock ensures consistent results once you've found your ideal temperature for each task type.
  • How does the temperature compensation feature benefit my soldering work? — Temperature compensation within ±50°C allows the station to adjust for ambient workshop conditions. In winter when your workshop is cold, the station compensates to maintain your target soldering temperature. In summer heat, it adjusts the other direction. This means your solder joints remain consistent across seasons and weather variations, rather than producing dry joints in winter or burnt solder in summer.
  • What is the difference between the brass wool and foam tip cleaners? — Brass wool provides aggressive cleaning action, ideal for removing stubborn flux residue and oxidised solder buildup from tips. The foam cleaner is gentler, better for regular maintenance cleaning between connections and for softer solder types that might be damaged by aggressive brass wool scrubbing. Having both options built into one station gives you perfect flexibility.
  • Is the included 4.0mm bevel tip suitable for all RC soldering work? — The 4.0mm bevel tip included is an excellent general-purpose size handling most common RC soldering tasks effectively. The bevel design provides good heat distribution across connections. However, professional users often build a collection of tip sizes—smaller tips for delicate work, larger tips for substantial connections. The DSS PRO 80 is designed to accept replacement tips if you want to expand your capabilities.
  • How quickly does the DSS PRO 80 reach working temperature? — The 80-watt power and integrated PTC active ceramic heater deliver rapid heat-up times. From cold start to working temperature of 350°C typically takes around 30-40 seconds, meaning you're ready to work within a minute of switching on. The energy saving mode then maintains temperature efficiently throughout your working session.
