Programmable user-adjustable settings allow customisation of throttle and braking response, whilst the intelligent BEC provides regulated power to the servo and receiver regardless of battery voltage.
  • HV7225 High-Velocity Digital Steering Servo with Metal Gears and 25Kg Torque — This premium steering servo features high-voltage compatibility for responsive control, metal gears for durability, and an impressive 25Kg of torque to handle the steering loads generated by the Asuga XLR's oversized proportions. Digital circuitry ensures precision and consistent performance.

Technical Performance

The Corally Asuga XLR 6S RTR represents the pinnacle of off-road RC buggy engineering and performance. At the heart of this extra-large machine sits the powerful Kuron 825 brushless motor, a 4-pole unit rated at 2050KV that delivers genuine performance and responsiveness across the 2S to 6S LiPo battery range. When paired with the 6S-capable Torox 185 ESC and a quality 6S LiPo battery pack, this drivetrain produces exceptional acceleration and a manufacturer-specified top speed of 100 km/h, making the Asuga XLR genuinely quick on appropriate terrain. The internal drive ratio of 3.31 combined with the overall drive ratio of 13.23 strikes an excellent balance between acceleration and top-speed capability, allowing precise tuning through pinion and spur gear selection if desired. The 4WD shaft-driven transmission distributes power through three precision fluid-filled differentials with CNC-machined helical-cut metal gears, ensuring smooth engagement and controlled power distribution during aggressive cornering and acceleration. Construction throughout emphasises quality materials and precision engineering – the chassis is cut from 3mm colour-anodised 6061-T6 aluminium, shock towers are 5mm thick precision-machined aluminium, and even the suspension pin holders are 8mm thick aluminium. The massive 16mm big bore shocks with 4mm tuned pistons and extended travel dominate the suspension, providing suspension movement that competitors simply cannot match. When you factor in the oversized composite suspension arms, precision pillow ball steering geometry, and the three precision differentials, every aspect of the Asuga XLR's design prioritises handling precision, durability, and performance. The weight of 4450g without battery is distributed precisely to maintain balance and handling characteristics, whilst the 75mm ground clearance and 210mm height deliver the ability to tackle rough terrain that would damage standard 1/8 scale buggies. This is a genuine engineering achievement that combines proven 6S drivetrain technology with entirely new chassis architecture and suspension design.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Corally Asuga XLR 6S suitable for beginners to RC? — The Asuga XLR is classified as Skill Level 3 and recommended for ages 14+, making it an intermediate-level model rather than a true beginner's car. Whilst it arrives fully assembled as a ready to run RTR package, the 6S power delivery, advanced electronics, and high top speed make it better suited to drivers with previous RC experience. Beginners should consider starting with a simpler, less powerful ready to run RC buggy before progressing to the Asuga XLR's performance envelope.
  • What battery does the Corally Asuga XLR 6S require? — The Asuga XLR's Torox 185 ESC and Kuron 825 motor are compatible with 3S, 4S, 5S, and 6S LiPo battery packs. Most drivers will use either 3S batteries (11.1V nominal) for casual bashing or 6S batteries (22.2V nominal) for maximum performance. The battery compartment dimensions are 161mm length × 51mm width × 49mm height. Most quality 5000mAh LiPo packs in hard case format will fit comfortably in this space.
  • How does the Asuga XLR compare to standard 1/8 scale buggies? — The fundamental difference is size – the Asuga XLR is 15% larger than conventional 1/8 scale buggies, resulting in 75mm ground clearance compared to typical 50-60mm, height of 210mm versus approximately 180mm, and significantly increased suspension travel. This size advantage means greater obstacle clearance, better flotation in rough terrain, and more commanding driving position. Additionally, the Asuga XLR features completely new chassis architecture rather than simply enlarging an existing design, incorporating 70% parts compatibility with existing Team Corally 1/8 models and the proven 6S drivetrain technology.
  • What is the top speed of the Corally Asuga XLR 6S? — The manufacturer specifies a top speed of 100 km/h (approximately 62 mph) when powered by a suitable 6S LiPo battery. Real-world speeds will vary depending on terrain, battery charge level, weight of driving surface, and driving technique. The top speed is impressive for an off-road RC buggy and demonstrates the capability of the powerful Kuron 825 motor and 6S drivetrain combination.
  • Is the Corally Asuga XLR waterproof? — Whilst the Torox 185 ESC is listed as waterproof, the servo and receiver are not fully waterproof. The model can handle light rain and wet grass, but should not be submerged or driven through deep water. For durability and safety, avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or water crossings.
  • What tools and expertise do I need to operate the Asuga XLR? — As a ready to run RTR model, no assembly is required – you simply add a battery and charger. However, you should be comfortable with basic LiPo battery charging procedures, programme the ESC to match your battery configuration, and understand basic RC driving techniques. The included manual provides detailed setup instructions for the radio system, ESC programming, and initial driving steps.
  • Can I use this buggy for racing or only for casual bashing? — Whilst the Asuga XLR is primarily designed as a bashing machine for off-road terrain, its precision engineering, three fluid-filled differentials, and advanced suspension make it capable of competitive off-road driving. Its larger size means it competes in a different category than standard 1/8 scale buggies, so check local RC club rules before entering events. Many drivers will primarily use it for fun bashing on mixed terrain.
  • How long does the battery last on a single charge? — Runtime depends entirely on your LiPo battery capacity, driving style, and terrain. A typical 5000mAh LiPo battery should provide 15-20 minutes of continuous driving for casual bashing, though high-performance driving with aggressive acceleration will reduce runtime. Purchasing multiple batteries is recommended for extended driving sessions.
