Overview

The Team Corally SSX-125 7075 Aluminium Chassis Kit represents the pinnacle of 1/12 scale pan car racing technology, born from racing DNA and built for victory. This precision-engineered racing chassis has been developed by racers for racers, delivering razor-sharp handling and insane corner speed right out of the box. Whether you're a seasoned competitor looking to upgrade your RC racing setup or an enthusiast ready to step up to competitive 1/12 scale pan car racing, the SSX-125 offers unmatched performance and tuning versatility that will elevate your track game to professional levels.

Building on Team Corally's decades of success in 1/12 scale pan car racing, the SSX-125 embodies the brand's unwavering commitment to precision engineering and innovative design. This is not just another RC car UK retailers stock—it's a purpose-built racing machine that has been engineered to excel on modern high-grip carpet tracks found throughout the United Kingdom and beyond. The SSX-125 comes as a chassis kit, allowing you to build your own racing machine with components you select, giving you complete control over your setup from the ground up.

What truly sets the SSX-125 apart in the competitive world of 1/12 scale RC racing is its revolutionary design philosophy that prioritises an ultra-low centre of gravity and advanced suspension geometry. By eliminating traditional design elements like a centre shock mounted on top of the battery, the SSX-125 achieves a significantly lower centre of gravity than competing designs. Combined with its innovative rear damper system and premium chassis options, this racing pan car delivers exceptional cornering stability and handling that competitive drivers demand. The SSX-125 is designed for the Expert skill level racer who understands the nuances of tuning and setup, and who has the dedication to master a high-performance racing platform.

Key Features

  • Premium 2mm 7075 Aluminium Chassis — This kit features a precision-machined 2mm 7075 aluminium chassis plate, one of the most advanced materials available for RC racing. The 7075 aluminium alloy is renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and rigidity, making it the ideal choice for high-grip tracks. The chassis is machined with strategically placed cutouts to optimise both flex and rigidity characteristics, allowing the chassis to respond precisely to track conditions whilst maintaining structural integrity during hard cornering and acceleration.
  • Ultra-Low Centre of Gravity Design — By removing the traditional centre shock mounted on top of the battery, the SSX-125 achieves a dramatically lower centre of gravity compared to conventional pan car designs. This innovation significantly improves cornering stability, reduces body roll during fast direction changes, and enhances handling under high lateral loads. The lower CG means your RC car will maintain grip longer through turns and exit corners with better traction, giving you the competitive edge on the track.
  • Advanced Rear Pod Damper System — Instead of relying on a centre shock, the SSX-125 employs a sophisticated rear pod damper with a friction-based system. The spring pre-load can be easily adjusted via the top nut, while an O-ring mounted on an aluminium tube provides smooth damping characteristics. A convenient set screw behind the damper allows you to adjust rear pod droop without affecting side-to-side movement, giving you precise control over your car's balance and handling.
  • Adjustable Chassis Flex System — Carbon fibre side braces are mounted with aluminium posts, allowing you to tailor lateral chassis flex to match specific track conditions. Simply loosen the top screws to introduce more flex on bumpy or loose surfaces for improved traction, or keep them tight on high-grip tracks for quicker corner exits and snappier handling. This level of adjustability means you can fine-tune your SSX-125 to suit any carpet track condition.
  • Optimised Front Suspension Geometry — Solid suspension arms keep camber fixed at 0.5° and caster at 6°, proven specifications that deliver excellent corner entry and exit characteristics. A removable carbon fibre plate on top adds rigidity when you need stability, and can be removed to introduce extra flex when track conditions demand a more compliant setup. This flexibility in tuning ensures consistent performance across different racing venues throughout the UK.
  • Adjustable Ackermann Steering System — Fine-tune your steering characteristics with a simple two-screw Ackermann adjustment system. You can increase or decrease the Ackermann effect to control precisely how the front wheels turn relative to each other, optimising steering sensitivity and corner speed for any track condition. This feature allows competitive racers to extract every possible tenth of a second from their lap times.
  • Floating Servo Mount — The fully adjustable floating servo mount minimises interference with chassis flex whilst ensuring your servo remains perfectly centred. The design accommodates various standard mini-sized servos, which are the norm in modern 1/12 scale racing. A properly centred servo is crucial for consistent steering response and optimal balance throughout your race run.
  • Included Kimbrough Servo Saver — Protect your servo from damage and premature wear with the included Kimbrough servo saver, an industry-standard component that maintains precise steering input whilst preventing damage during tight, high-speed racing events. This feature is invaluable when you're competing at competitive levels where every component must perform flawlessly.
  • Link Suspension with Composite Elements — The rear suspension features two composite side links, an aluminium central hinge, and carefully planned geometry that provides smooth, precise movement. This classic setup has been proven reliable across countless 1/12 scale racing events and provides the predictable handling characteristics that competitive racers demand.
  • Solid Rear Axle — Modern 1/12 scale carpet tracks typically feature high-traction surfaces, making a solid axle the optimal solution. The solid axle is lightweight, requires minimal maintenance, and ensures straightforward power transfer to the track without the complexity of a differential system. This simplicity translates to faster setup times and more reliable performance on race day.
  • Eccentric Plastic Bushings for Ride Height — Adjust your ride height quickly and precisely using eccentric plastic bushings. The composite material also absorbs impacts effectively, acting like a cushion to protect the axle and bearings during collisions with track boundaries or other cars. This protective feature extends the lifespan of your drivetrain components.
  • 1S LiPo Battery Compatibility — The SSX-125 is designed to accept standard 1S LiPo battery packs in a dedicated 93 × 47 mm battery tray, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal weight distribution. This modern battery format provides excellent power delivery and run time for competitive racing sessions.
  • 64DP Precision Gear System — The kit includes a 64DP, 90T spur gear, with precision 64DP pinion gears available for fine-tuning your gear ratios. The 64DP standard is the modern specification for 1/12 scale racing, offering superior mesh engagement and reliability compared to older gear systems.
  • Pre-Cut Maintenance Access Holes — The chassis features pre-cut holes that expose key adjustment screws, minimising the need for disassembly during race day tuning sessions. This thoughtful design saves you valuable time between races and reduces the risk of losing or damaging components.
  • Recommended Motor Compatibility — For Modified Class racing, Team Corally recommends the 6.5T Vulcan II motor, delivering extreme power and speed for competitive advantage. Stock Class racers can choose from other Vulcan II motors such as the 13.5T or 17.5T options to comply with specific racing class regulations and rules.

Technical Performance

The SSX-125 represents a significant evolution in 1/12 scale pan car design, engineered for the modern competitive racing environment found at tracks throughout the United Kingdom. Built at a 1/12 scale, this is a legitimate racing machine designed for serious competitors, not a casual basher. The precision-engineered chassis combines premium 2mm 7075 aluminium construction with advanced suspension geometry and innovative damping systems that deliver superior handling characteristics. The selection of 7075 aluminium for this kit version provides excellent stability characteristics on high-grip tracks, whilst maintaining the lightweight properties essential for 1/12 scale racing. The ultra-low centre of gravity achieved through the innovative rear pod damper system and elimination of traditional centre-shock design significantly improves cornering stability and allows longer corner entry speeds. The front suspension maintains fixed camber at 0.5° and caster at 6°, specifications proven through extensive development and racing applications. The side tube and spring setup at the rear, combined with the rear pod damper's friction-based damping system, provides smooth, controlled movement that translates directly to faster lap times on the carpet. The inclusion of a solid rear axle makes sense for high-grip indoor tracks, eliminating complexity whilst ensuring reliable power delivery. The 64DP spur and pinion gear system represents the modern standard in 1/12 scale racing, offering superior engagement and durability. For motor selection, Team Corally recommends the 6.5T Vulcan II for Modified Class competition, offering the extreme power delivery necessary for winning performances, though Stock Class racers have the flexibility to select 13.5T or 17.5T alternatives. The standard 1S LiPo battery compatibility in the 93 × 47 mm battery tray provides ample power for competitive racing sessions. This is a kit requiring assembly and the addition of electronics and battery, making it ideal for experienced racers who want complete control over their setup. The SSX-125 is rated for the Expert skill level, reflecting the knowledge and experience required to assemble, tune, and race this precision instrument competitively.
