Overview

The TEAM ASSOCIATED RC10B7 FT ADJUSTABLE KPI SET (AS92479) is a premium steering geometry upgrade designed for competitive RC car enthusiasts and dedicated hobbyists looking to extract maximum performance from their RC10B7 buggy. Originally developed for the prototype RC10B7, this Factory Team component is now available to all users, bringing precision tuning capabilities that were once reserved for top factory teams. Whether you're racing on low-grip dirt surfaces, high-traction clay tracks, or carpet racing venues, this adjustable KPI set gives you the fine control needed to optimise your car's handling characteristics across any surface condition you encounter.

KPI, or Kingpin Inclination, is a critical steering geometry parameter that directly influences how your RC buggy responds to steering input and how effectively it maintains traction through corners. By offering nine distinct KPI values, this upgrade provides a broader tuning range than the standard kit steering blocks, allowing you to dial in your RC10B7's handling with surgeon-like precision. For UK RC racers and enthusiasts who demand the best performance from their equipment, this is an essential upgrade that separates competitive setups from casual builds. The inclusion of detailed tuning guidance means you'll understand not just what to adjust, but why you're making each adjustment.

This is not a complete car or chassis — it's a performance upgrade designed specifically for the RC10B7 platform. If you already own an RC10B7 and want to unlock its true potential, this Factory Team adjustable KPI set is the upgrade that serious competitors choose when they need every advantage on the track.

Key Features

  • Nine Distinct KPI Values — This set provides nine different kingpin inclination angles, far exceeding the adjustment range of standard kit steering blocks. This expanded tuning window allows you to fine-tune your car's steering response, camber gain, and corner speed across multiple track surfaces, from loose dirt to tacky clay and carpet.
  • Factory Team Heritage — Originally developed and proven on the prototype RC10B7 before its release, this component carries the pedigree of Team Associated's factory racing programme, ensuring it has been tested under the most demanding conditions by professional drivers.
  • Optimisation for Any Surface — Whether you're running low-grip dirt tracks where steering sensitivity is critical, high-traction clay surfaces where you need aggressive entry speed, or indoor carpet racing where precision handling is paramount, this set lets you dial in the geometry your specific track demands.
  • Includes Multiple Steering Blocks — The set contains both 3mm and 4mm (kit) trailing steering blocks, giving you flexibility in your setup options and allowing you to experiment with different geometry configurations without purchasing additional components.
  • Comprehensive Setup Supplement — Included detailed steps and recommended values take the guesswork out of KPI tuning. Rather than relying on trial and error, you'll have proven starting points and guidance on how different KPI settings affect your car's handling characteristics.
  • Broader Tuning Range — By offering significantly more KPI options than the standard steering blocks that come with your RC10B7, this upgrade enables micro-adjustments that can transform your car's mid-corner speed, entry characteristics, and overall stability.

Technical Performance

The TEAM ASSOCIATED RC10B7 FT ADJUSTABLE KPI SET represents precision engineering at its finest. Kingpin inclination is the angle formed between the kingpin (steering axis) and the vertical plane when viewed from the front of the vehicle. This seemingly small detail has enormous consequences for how your RC10B7 performs on the track. The nine distinct KPI values provided in this set allow you to adjust steering geometry with precision that was previously unavailable to RC10B7 users. Each value is designed to optimise different aspects of handling: lower KPI values generally produce more responsive steering and quicker direction changes, whilst higher KPI values provide more progressive steering feel and improved high-speed stability. The included 3mm and 4mm trailing steering blocks work in conjunction with the adjustable KPI angles to give you complete control over your front-end geometry. The 4mm kit trailing blocks represent your baseline setup, whilst the 3mm option allows you to adjust your steering geometry further if needed. Whether you're competing in UK RC racing clubs, running at your local race track, or testing setups at different venues around the country, this set's flexibility means you'll always have the geometry adjustment capability to match your track conditions. The detailed supplement provides not just the measurements and adjustments, but also the reasoning behind each setting, helping you understand how geometry changes translate into on-track performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is KPI and why does it matter for my RC10B7? — KPI stands for Kingpin Inclination, which is the angle of your car's steering axis. Adjusting KPI changes how your steering responds, how much the car wants to lift on the outside tyre in corners, and how predictable the front end feels. Different track surfaces and conditions favour different KPI settings, which is why this adjustable set is so valuable. On low-grip dirt, you might prefer one KPI angle, whilst a high-traction clay track might benefit from a different setting altogether.
  • Is this set suitable for beginners to RC racing? — Whilst the KPI set itself is not difficult to install or adjust, understanding how to use it effectively requires some RC knowledge. Beginners to the RC10B7 should first become comfortable with the car's baseline setup before experimenting with KPI tuning. That said, if you own an RC10B7 and are ready to optimise your setup beyond the standard configuration, the included supplement provides excellent guidance to help you understand and apply the adjustments correctly.
  • Will this work with my RC10B7? — Yes, this set is specifically designed for the RC10B7 platform and is fully compatible with the standard RC10B7 chassis and steering components. It is an option part that upgrades your existing steering geometry rather than replacing the entire front end.
  • What surface types can I optimise for with this set? — The nine KPI values allow you to dial in your setup for low-grip dirt tracks, high-traction clay surfaces, indoor carpet racing, and everything in between. The detailed supplement includes guidance on which KPI settings work best for different track conditions, taking the mystery out of geometry tuning.
  • Do I need any tools or additional parts to use this set? — You will need basic RC building tools such as hex drivers to adjust the steering geometry. The set includes the steering blocks and all necessary components; you do not need to purchase additional parts to use this upgrade, though you may wish to have spare blocks on hand if you're frequently changing setups.
  • How does this compare to the standard RC10B7 steering blocks? — The standard RC10B7 steering blocks offer limited KPI adjustment options. This Factory Team set provides nine distinct KPI values compared to the standard kit, giving you a far broader tuning range and the ability to optimise your car's handling characteristics for specific track conditions and driving styles. The wider adjustment range makes this set essential for competitive racers who need every advantage.
