Overview
The Team Associated Octalock Slipper Pad 19mm (AS92288) is a precision engineered replacement slipper pad designed for Team Associated's Octalock slipper assembly systems. This is an essential spare part for RC enthusiasts across the UK who run Team Associated vehicles and need to maintain peak performance during competitive racing or weekend bashing. The Octalock slipper system represents a significant advancement in RC drivetrain technology, and having quality replacement pads on hand ensures your RC car UK setup remains reliable and responsive.
Slipper pads are critical components in any modern RC car's drivetrain. They work within the slipper clutch assembly to prevent damage to your vehicle when it experiences sudden deceleration or when the wheels lose traction and spin faster than the motor can handle. The slipper pad acts as a friction interface that allows controlled slippage, protecting your gears, transmission and motor from catastrophic damage. Whether you're running a 2WD buggy, 4WD buggy, truggy, short course truck or any other Team Associated RC vehicle, having genuine replacement slipper pads is essential for long-term reliability.
The 19mm size specified in the AS92288 designation is compatible with a comprehensive range of Team Associated models including the B6, B6.4, B6.4D, B7, B7D, B74.1, B74.2, B74.2D, T6.2, T6.4, T7, SC6.4, SC7, RC10, RC10 4WD, RC10T 4WD and RC10SC6.2 platforms. This wide compatibility makes the AS92288 an excellent spare to keep in your pit box or workshop.

Technical Performance
The Team Associated Octalock Slipper Pad 19mm represents precision engineering in drivetrain component design. Slipper clutch systems are fundamental to modern RC car performance, and the Octalock platform is Team Associated's latest evolution in this critical technology. The 19mm pad works in conjunction with the slipper spring and slipper spur gear to create a calibrated friction interface that slips at predetermined torque values. This prevents your motor and transmission from being damaged when you hit obstacles, land jumps hard, or experience sudden deceleration. The Octalock system is engineered to slip consistently, meaning your vehicle's handling characteristics remain predictable lap after lap, race after race. Without quality slipper pads, you'll experience inconsistent braking behaviour, potential gear damage, and unpredictable handling that makes competitive racing impossible. The material composition of Team Associated slipper pads is optimised for UK climate conditions and typical driving surfaces, maintaining consistent friction characteristics across ambient temperature variations. Whether you're running your RC car in summer heat at a UK race track or during cooler autumn practice sessions, this slipper pad maintains reliable performance. Regular replacement of worn slipper pads is recommended every 2-3 months of active racing, or whenever you notice inconsistent slipper engagement or hear grinding sounds from the transmission area.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a slipper pad and why does my RC car need one? — A slipper pad is a friction component in your RC car's slipper clutch assembly that controls drivetrain slippage. When your wheels spin faster than the motor can handle (during hard landings, obstacle impacts, or sudden deceleration), the slipper pad allows controlled slippage rather than transmitting that shock directly to your gears and motor. This prevents catastrophic drivetrain failure. Without functional slipper pads, a hard landing or collision could instantly strip gears and destroy your transmission.
- How often should I replace my slipper pads? — Slipper pads are wear items that degrade with use. Competitive racers typically replace them every 2-3 months depending on driving intensity. Casual RC hobbyists should check them monthly and replace when you notice the slipper engaging later or earlier than usual, or when the pad surface becomes visibly worn smooth.
- Which Team Associated vehicles use the 19mm Octalock slipper pad? — The AS92288 19mm pad is compatible with numerous Team Associated platforms including the B6, B6.4, B6.4D, B7, B7D, B74.1, B74.2, B74.2D, T6.2, T6.4, T7, SC6.4, SC7, RC10, RC10 4WD, RC10T 4WD and RC10SC6.2 models. Check your vehicle's manual or contact our team to confirm your specific model uses this size.
- How do I know if my slipper pad needs replacing? — Signs of worn slipper pads include inconsistent slipper engagement (it slips at different times during similar driving), audible grinding or clicking from the transmission area, or visible wear on the pad surface where it's no longer smooth and shiny. If your vehicle feels different through jumps or corners compared to a fresh setup, fresh slipper pads often restore the original feel.
- Is this a genuine Team Associated part? — Yes, the AS92288 is an official Team Associated part manufactured to OEM specifications. We supply only genuine Team Associated components, ensuring you receive parts that match the engineering standards your vehicle was designed around.
- Can I use third-party or aftermarket slipper pads? — While some aftermarket options exist, Team Associated slipper pads are specifically engineered for the Octalock system and tuned for the correct engagement characteristics. Using the genuine part ensures predictable performance and proper protection of your drivetrain.
