Key Features
- 4.30 lb/in Spring Rate — This specific spring rate is engineered to provide a balanced compromise between responsiveness and bump absorption, making it suitable for a wide range of driving conditions and driver skill levels. The consistent rate ensures predictable handling characteristics whether you're navigating tight corners or accelerating on straights.
- L44M Length Designation — The L44 millimetre length is precisely engineered to match the front shock specifications of compatible Team Associated vehicles, ensuring proper installation and optimal suspension geometry. This exact dimension is critical for maintaining the correct ride height and suspension travel.
- Yellow Colour Coding — The bright yellow colour provides instant visual identification of the spring rate, which is invaluable when you're managing multiple spring rates during suspension setup or maintenance. This colour-coding system prevents accidental installation of incorrect springs and saves time during vehicle preparation.
- Precision-Wound Construction — These springs are manufactured using precision winding techniques that ensure consistent spring rate throughout their lifespan. The uniform construction delivers reliable performance session after session, eliminating the unpredictability of worn or inconsistent springs.
- Genuine Team Associated Component — As an official Team Associated part manufactured under part number AS91834, this component is guaranteed to meet OEM specifications and quality standards. Choosing genuine parts ensures compatibility and reliability that clone or third-party springs cannot match.
- Wide Vehicle Compatibility — These front shock springs are compatible with numerous Team Associated models including the RC10B64D, RC10B64, RC10B6.1, RC10T6.1, RC10SC6.1, RC10B74, RC10B6.2, RC10B6.3, SR10, RB10, and SR10M Dirt Oval variants, making them a versatile upgrade option for owners with multiple vehicles in their fleet.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated Front Shock Springs deliver consistent suspension performance through their precision-engineered 4.30 lb/in spring rate and L44 millimetre length specification. The yellow colour coding identifies this spring rate at a glance, which is essential for RC drivers managing multiple spring rates in their setup arsenal. The springs are constructed using proven suspension engineering principles that have made Team Associated a leader in the competitive RC car UK market for decades. With a focus on consistent spring rate delivery throughout the shock travel range, these springs help drivers achieve predictable handling behaviour whether they're pushing for lap time improvements or enjoying casual weekend running. The construction quality ensures that the springs maintain their performance characteristics over extended use, resisting the compression drift that can occur with lower-quality aftermarket alternatives. For drivers running Team Associated models including the high-performance RC10B6.3, RC10B74 variants, RC10T6.1 touring car, RC10SC6.1 short course truck, and the SR10 and RB10 carpet racing platforms, these springs provide the suspension foundation necessary for competitive setup optimisation. The precise 44mm length ensures compatibility with the shock absorbers fitted to these vehicles, maintaining correct suspension geometry and ride height regardless of the driving style or track surface encountered.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What spring rate should I choose for my RC car suspension? — The 4.30 lb/in rating represents a medium spring rate suitable for general purpose racing and bashing across various track conditions. Softer springs (lower lb/in) offer greater bump compliance and are better for bumpy tracks, whilst stiffer springs (higher lb/in) improve response and mid-corner support on smooth surfaces. The 4.30 lb/in springs strike a balanced middle ground that works well for drivers transitioning between track types or looking for a versatile setup.
- Are these springs suitable for beginners? — Yes, these Team Associated springs are excellent for drivers of all skill levels. The 4.30 lb/in rate provides predictable handling characteristics that help beginners develop better car control and understand how suspension adjustments affect vehicle behaviour. More experienced drivers can use these springs as a baseline and adjust upwards or downwards depending on track conditions and personal preference.
- Which Team Associated models are these compatible with? — These front shock springs fit the RC10B64D, RC10B64, RC10B64 Club Racer, RC10B6.1, RC10B6.1D, RC10T6.1, RC10SC6.1, RC10B74, RC10B6.1DL, RC10B6.2, RC10B6.2D, RC10B74.1, RC10B74.1D, SR10, RC10B6.3, RC10B6.3D, RB10, and SR10M Dirt Oval variants. Always verify compatibility with your specific vehicle model before purchasing.
- What is the difference between this 4.30 lb/in spring and softer or stiffer options? — The 4.30 lb/in spring rate is moderate firmness. Softer springs (lower numbers like 3.6 or 3.9 lb/in) compress more easily and provide better shock absorption on rough tracks but may reduce steering response on smooth surfaces. Stiffer springs (higher numbers like 4.6 or 5.0 lb/in) improve mid-corner support and steering sharpness but can make the vehicle less comfortable on bumpy terrain. The 4.30 rating provides balanced compromise.
- How often should I replace these shock springs? — Shock springs can last for many running hours if maintained properly. However, springs can lose their consistent rate over time due to metal fatigue or damage. If you notice inconsistent handling or suspect spring fatigue, replacement is recommended. Regular inspection during maintenance checks helps identify when replacement is necessary.
- Can I mix different spring rates on the front and rear? — Yes, and this is actually a common tuning technique in competitive RC racing. Adjusting front and rear spring rates independently allows fine-tuning of understeer and oversteer characteristics. However, you should start with matching rates front and rear, then adjust based on track conditions and vehicle behaviour.
