Overview
The TEAM ASSOCIATED B84 TEAM KIT (AS90050) is a competition-focused 1/10-scale 4WD electric buggy engineered for precision, speed and race track victories. This is not a ready-to-run RC car UK; rather, it's a comprehensive race kit designed for serious competitors and experienced RC enthusiasts who demand cutting-edge performance. Whether you're tackling modern off-road tracks or pushing the limits of competitive RC buggy racing, the RC10B84 delivers the sophisticated engineering and adjustability required to stay ahead of the competition.
Designed with cutting-edge features and meticulous attention to detail, this brushless RC buggy is a competition machine that delivers superior handling and control in demanding conditions. The kit provides extensive chassis tuning options, allowing you to refine balance and grip as track conditions change throughout the day. With height-adjustable gearboxes, long-arm suspension geometry and a wealth of adjustment possibilities, the RC10B84 is your key to placing at the top of the podium.
This is a build-it-yourself kit that requires full assembly, making it perfect for experienced builders who understand the importance of precision setup and ongoing maintenance. The investment in assembly time pays dividends through repeatability, customisation and the deep knowledge you'll gain about your machine's behaviour on the track.
Key Features
- Moulded Height-Adjustable Gearboxes Front and Rear — The front and rear gearboxes feature adjustable heights that allow you to fine-tune ride height and weight distribution across different track surfaces and grip levels, with an additional +2 rear gearbox option included for high-grip conditions where maximum traction is essential.
- Long-Arm Suspension Geometry — This advanced suspension design improves grip and predictability in all conditions, giving you confidence that your RC buggy will respond consistently whether you're on a technical tight track or an open circuit.
- Optimised Steering Bellcranks and Rack — Precision-engineered steering components provide exceptional bump steer control at all ride heights, keeping your steering lines tight and consistent through every corner of your race run.
- Comprehensive Chassis Bracing System — Fine-tune chassis flex characteristics with upper and lower chassis bracing available for both front and rear, giving you direct control over how your buggy responds to cornering loads and bumpy terrain.
- Standard and HRC (High Roll Center) Rear Hubs Included — Two hub options are included in the box, allowing you to switch between standard geometry and high roll centre setup depending on track characteristics and your driving style.
- Insert-Adjustable Caster Block — With interchangeable inserts offering 0, ±1, and ±2 degree options, you can dial in precise front-end geometry to match track conditions and optimise steering response.
- Forward and Back Motor Positions — Repositionable motor mounts allow you to shift weight bias forwards or backwards, a critical adjustment for adapting to different track layouts and maintaining consistent handling.
- Highly Adjustable Battery Holder with Thumb Tabs — The innovative battery holder features convenient thumb tabs for easy removal and precise weight bias fine-tuning, making setup changes quick and repeatable between heats.
- 2.5mm Tapered 7075-T6 Aluminium Chassis — Constructed from aerospace-grade aluminium with tapered sections for optimal strength-to-weight ratio, this chassis features 10 degrees of kickup and improved departure angle for better ground clearance over obstacles.
- Decoupled Slipper Clutch — This precision component protects your drivetrain from damage during hard landings and impacts whilst maintaining smooth acceleration out of corners.
- Aluminium Centre-Mounted Servo Mount — A rigid, precision servo mount keeps your steering response sharp and consistent throughout long race runs.
- Two Rear Wing Mount Heights — Included 7-inch rear wing with dual mounting positions allows you to adjust aerodynamic balance and downforce depending on track speed characteristics.
- Low-Profile Body — Aerodynamically optimised bodywork reduces drag and improves stability at speed, a critical advantage in competitive racing.
- Shock Tower Covers Front and Rear — Protective covers shield your shock assemblies from dirt and impacts whilst maintaining a professional appearance.
- 13mm Big-Bore Shocks — Large-diameter shock bodies deliver consistent damping performance and durability through long practice and race sessions without fade.
- 3.5mm Turnbuckles and Ballcups — Heavy-duty suspension linkage components ensure precise geometry maintenance and long-lasting reliability under competitive racing loads.
Technical Performance
The RC10B84 represents the pinnacle of 1/10-scale off-road buggy engineering. Built around a robust 2.5mm thick tapered 7075-T6 aluminium chassis with 10-degree kickup, this platform provides an ideal foundation for serious competition. The 2.50:1 internal gear ratio is engineered for balanced acceleration and top-end speed across modern off-road tracks. The 4WD drivetrain distributes power equally to all four wheels, and the included decoupled slipper clutch protects the transmission during hard landings whilst maintaining smooth power delivery. The chassis measures 395mm in length and features height-adjustable gearboxes front and rear, allowing you to precisely manage ride height and suspension geometry as conditions demand. This is a fully electric RC buggy that requires a brushless motor, ESC (Electronic Speed Controller), LiPo battery, servo, transmitter and receiver to complete — all sold separately. The long-arm suspension geometry combined with optimised steering bellcranks ensures predictable handling whether you're racing on clay, carpet or artificial surfaces. The low-profile aerodynamic body reduces lift at speed, whilst the included 7-inch rear wing with dual mounting heights lets you fine-tune downforce to suit different track speeds. With 13mm big-bore shocks and 3.5mm turnbuckles throughout, the RC10B84 delivers the durability and consistency required for day-long competitive sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the TEAM ASSOCIATED B84 suitable for beginners? — No, this is a competition-grade race kit requiring full assembly and comprehensive understanding of RC mechanics. The extensive tuning options and adjustable components demand experience with setup and maintenance. Beginners would be better served by a ready-to-run (RTR) RC car UK model before graduating to this sophisticated platform.
- How long does assembly take? — Full assembly of a 1/10-scale kit typically requires 8-12 hours for experienced builders, depending on familiarity with the platform and attention to detail. This time investment is essential for learning the geometry and setup options that give this buggy its competitive advantage.
- What battery does the RC10B84 need? — The RC10B84 requires a separate LiPo battery (not included) and compatible charger. Your choice of battery voltage (typically 2S or 3S LiPo) will depend on the motor and ESC you select, so consult your electronics supplier for recommendations matching your chosen brushless motor.
- What is the wheelbase and overall weight? — The chassis measures 395mm in length, whilst width and wheelbase vary depending on your suspension geometry settings and component selections. Total weight varies based on electronics and battery choice, with the adjustable battery holder allowing you to shift weight bias for track-specific tuning.
- Can I adjust the suspension geometry? — Absolutely — this is core to the RC10B84's competitive purpose. Height-adjustable gearboxes, caster block inserts (0, ±1, ±2 degrees), motor position adjustments, battery holder positioning, and chassis bracing options give you comprehensive control over ride height, wheel geometry and chassis flex characteristics.
- What is the internal gear ratio? — The RC10B84 features a 2.50:1 internal gear ratio, engineered to balance acceleration with top-end speed across modern off-road tracks.
- Why does it include two rear hubs? — The standard and HRC (High Roll Center) rear hubs are included to suit different track characteristics. Standard geometry works well on most surfaces, whilst the HRC option is optimised for high-grip conditions where maximum traction is critical.
- What makes this different from other 1/10 4WD buggies? — The RC10B84 distinguishes itself through long-arm suspension geometry, extensive height-adjustable gearbox options, comprehensive chassis bracing systems, and multiple rear hub/motor position/battery holder adjustments. These features are specifically engineered for competitive racing where the ability to fine-tune setup to match track conditions directly impacts lap times.
