Technical Performance
The RC10B7.1 Team Kit represents the pinnacle of 1/10 scale 2WD off-road racing engineering. Built on a 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium chassis, this platform delivers the structural rigidity and lightweight efficiency demanded by competitive racers. The internal gear ratio of 2.60:1 provides the balance between acceleration and top speed suitable for high-grip racing surfaces, whilst the three-gear laydown transmission minimises rotational losses. The long-arm suspension geometry combined with 13mm big-bore shocks creates a platform capable of maintaining consistent grip through demanding corner sequences. The weight-centralised electronics layout positions all heavy components optimally within the chassis, improving handling balance and responsiveness. The -2mm front shock tower and Gull-Dropper rear tower design significantly lower the centre of gravity, enhancing stability during aggressive cornering on carpet, astroturf, and sealed clay tracks. The high-volume gear differential delivers smooth, reliable power distribution whilst withstanding the demands of competitive racing. With extensive tunability including anti-roll bars, adjustable arm mounts, and KPI-adjustable steering blocks, this platform allows serious racers to dial in the perfect setup for any track condition. The kit includes all suspension components, drivetrain parts, electronics layout, and body shell needed to create a fully competitive 1/10 scale electric RC racing buggy.

Its optimised setup with stiffer springs and higher-pack shock pistons makes it particularly well-suited to these track surfaces, though the extensive tunability means it can be adapted to suit diverse racing environments across the UK.
- Is the Team Associated RC10B7.1 suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is a kit requiring full assembly and completion with additional components (motor, ESC, servo, radio, battery), it is recommended as a starting point for those seriously interested in competitive 1/10 2WD off-road racing. The kit provides a genuine competitive platform with proven championship heritage. However, you will need RC experience or patience to build and tune the kit properly. Many UK RC retailers offer complete pre-configured packages including all necessary electronics to help new racers get started.
- What motor, ESC and servo do I need for the RC10B7.1? — This is a kit and does not include a motor, ESC or servo. For racing on high-grip indoor tracks, a brushless 10.5T or 7.5T motor with a suitable brushless ESC is standard. UK retailers including RC Model Shop offer complete Sport, Intermediate and Pro race packages that bundle the kit with matched electronics, radio systems, batteries and chargers configured for different competitive levels.
- What battery does the RC10B7.1 use? — The RC10B7.1 is designed for 2S LiPo battery configuration (7.6V).
