- Horizontal Rear Body Mount — This mounting system improves aerodynamic efficiency when using lightweight polycarbonate touring car bodies, reducing drag and improving straight-line speed.
- High-Volume Rear Differential — The large-capacity rear differential delivers consistent performance and extended run times, allowing longer practice sessions and race stints without performance degradation.
- Wide Range of Differential Height Adjustment — Extensive differential height adjustment capability optimises dog-bone bind for varying grip levels, giving you precise control over driveline behaviour as track conditions evolve throughout an event.
- Floating Fan and Receiver Mount — The floating mounts for both the cooling fan and receiver maintain consistent chassis flex characteristics, ensuring your electronics respond naturally with the chassis rather than fighting against it.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated RC10TC8 is engineered as a 1:10 scale four-wheel drive touring car featuring an electric drivetrain with a mid-motor layout. The chassis geometry has been completely redesigned with an ultra-low centre of gravity to maximise performance and responsiveness. The internal gear ratio is set at 1.90:1, providing a balanced approach between acceleration and top speed suitable for both tight technical tracks and faster flowing circuits. The carbon fibre chassis measures 360mm in length and provides the structural foundation for the suspension and drivetrain systems. Built with genuine Team Associated quality, this is a genuine racing platform that has been proven in competitive environments. The Graphite-Spec variant specifically uses a 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis plate engineered to flex appropriately for lower-grip asphalt surfaces, allowing drivers to maintain corner speeds and exit traction even in challenging conditions. Assembly is required, and the kit demands a motor, brushless ESC, servo, transmitter and receiver, along with a 7.4–7.6V 2S LiPo battery to complete. The TC8's refined engineering makes it suitable for experienced builders and competitive racers who understand the importance of proper setup and maintenance. This is a serious competition platform from the manufacturer trusted by touring car racers worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Team Associated TC8 Graphite-Spec suitable for beginners? — This is a serious competition-grade kit designed for experienced RC builders and racers who understand chassis setup and maintenance. It is not a ready-to-run RC car, and assembly requires mechanical skill and patience. If you are new to RC cars, you should consider starting with a fully assembled ready-to-run model before investing in a competition kit. However, if you are a dedicated enthusiast willing to learn, the TC8 is an excellent platform that will teach you valuable skills and reward fine setup work.
- What battery does the TC8 Graphite-Spec need? — This kit requires a 7.4–7.6V 2S LiPo (lithium polymer) battery. A 2S LiPo provides the ideal voltage range for brushless ESCs designed for touring cars, balancing performance with component lifespan. You'll also need a LiPo-compatible charger and battery balancer for safe operation and battery longevity.
- What makes the Graphite-Spec version different from other TC8 variants? — The Graphite-Spec uses a 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis specifically engineered to maximise flex and grip on lower-traction asphalt surfaces. Team Associated also offers a steel chassis variant (the low CG steel option) which is stiffer and better suited for higher-grip tracks. The Graphite-Spec is ideal if you race primarily on medium to low-grip circuits, whilst the steel option suits high-grip environments. Both share the same revolutionary geometry and feature set.
- How long does assembly take? — Assembly time varies depending on your mechanical experience and attention to detail. Experienced builders may complete assembly in 8–15 hours, whilst first-time builders should allocate considerably more time. The manufacturer provides comprehensive instruction manuals and setup sheets to guide you through the process, and many online RC car forums offer helpful build guides and videos.
- What is the internal gear ratio and what does this mean for performance? — The TC8 features a 1.90:1 internal gear ratio, which provides a balanced compromise between acceleration and top speed. This ratio is standard for competitive touring cars and works well across a wide range of track types. If you find you need more acceleration or top speed, you can adjust the pinion gear size within the drivetrain, though this will affect overall performance characteristics.
- Can I upgrade components after purchase? — Yes, absolutely. Team Associated manufactures an extensive range of optional parts and upgrade components specifically designed for the TC8. These include alternative top decks, differential sets, shock upgrades, steering blocks, battery holders, and numerous titanium and carbon fibre components from the Factory Team line. This modularity means you can continuously refine and optimise your setup as you gain experience and discover your preferences.
- Is the TC8 waterproof? — As an on-road racing platform designed for dry asphalt tracks, the TC8 is not waterproofed. You should protect electronics from water and mud. For wet weather operation, you would need to source waterproof servo and receiver options separately and ensure all electronics are properly sealed.
