Overview

The Team Associated Reflex 14B Buggy Classic Kit (AS20193) brings professional-grade performance to a compact 1:14 scale 4WD electric platform, making it an exceptional choice for RC enthusiasts looking for a high-performance ready-to-build buggy. With over 40 years of racing heritage behind the Team Associated brand, this kit represents the pinnacle of small-scale off-road engineering, combining precision hardware with extensive tuning potential. Whether you're searching for a competitive RC car UK or a project build that rewards meticulous assembly and setup, the Reflex 14B Classic Kit delivers the adjustability, durability and responsive handling that serious hobbyists demand.

This is not a ready-to-run RC buggy for casual bashers—it's a purpose-built race kit designed for those who understand that big performance can come in a small scale package. The moulded tub chassis, sealed differentials and aluminium construction mean you're investing in a machine built to handle demanding conditions on a wide variety of off-road surfaces. From forest floors to dirt tracks, the Reflex 14B adapts to your preferred terrain through intelligent adjustability and proven engineering. If you've ever wondered what separates a genuinely competitive RC buggy from the rest, the answer lies in the details—and this kit is packed with them.

The assembly process itself becomes part of the appeal for experienced builders. Every component has been selected for performance and durability, with gold-anodised aluminium parts that look as good as they perform. You'll spend your build time understanding how each element contributes to your buggy's handling characteristics, learning precisely why certain adjustments matter and how to dial in your setup for maximum grip and corner speed. This hands-on experience transforms a simple purchase into a complete hobby experience.

Key Features

  • Gold-anodised aluminium wheel hexes — Hard-anodised for durability and corrosion resistance, these hexes provide a solid connection between your wheel inserts and drive components whilst resisting wear from repeated assembly and disassembly during tuning sessions.
  • Gold-anodised aluminium threaded racing shocks — The premium anodised finish protects against oxidation and provides a professional racing appearance, whilst the threaded design allows infinite adjustment of ride height and spring preload to fine-tune your suspension geometry for different terrain conditions.
  • Three sealed differentials — Multiple sealed diffs across the front, centre and rear axles maximise traction and cornering performance by allowing precise distribution of power, whilst the sealed design keeps out dirt and moisture for extended service life in challenging conditions.
  • Adjustable turnbuckles — These precision components enable real-time tuning of suspension geometry and anti-squat characteristics, allowing you to adapt your buggy's handling to different track layouts and surface conditions without major component changes.
  • Adjustable inserts for caster blocks and rear hubs — Fine-tuning caster angle and rear hub geometry directly affects steering response, cornering speed and overall handling balance, making these adjustments essential for extracting maximum performance from your setup.
  • Gold-anodised aluminium steering rack — Premium materials and anodised protection combine with precision steering geometry to deliver responsive, accurate steering input whilst resisting wear and environmental degradation.
  • Front universal driveshafts — These components provide reliable power delivery to the front wheels with smooth articulation, essential for maintaining traction during aggressive cornering and off-camber driving.
  • Moulded tub chassis with covered centre driveshaft — The protective tub design keeps dirt and debris away from critical drivetrain components, extending service intervals and protecting your investment from the harsh conditions of off-road terrain.
  • Lightweight aluminium centre driveshaft — Weight reduction improves acceleration and handling responsiveness, whilst aluminium construction provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to bending under load.
  • Optional dust filter screen included — This additional component provides extra protection for your air intake and internal components when running in particularly dusty conditions, helping you keep your model cleaner and extending the life of sealed components.
  • New rally wheels and tyres — Purpose-designed for off-road grip and durability, these tyres provide the traction needed for competitive lap times across varied terrain, whilst the rally wheel design offers strength and an attractive appearance.
  • Updated battery strap system — Modern battery retention design that securely holds your battery pack in place during aggressive cornering whilst remaining easy to access for charging and swaps between runs.
  • Clear Lexan Reflex 14B body — The transparent polycarbonate construction allows visibility of internal components and provides excellent aerodynamic performance, with the iconic Reflex 14B shape delivering both function and classic racing aesthetics.
  • RC10 Protec style rear wing — Integrated aero design helps manage rear downforce and stability at speed, contributing to balanced handling characteristics across a range of driving speeds and conditions.
  • 2.46:1 internal gear ratio — This transmission ratio is carefully calculated to deliver strong acceleration and competitive top speed when paired with modern brushless motors, providing the performance envelope serious racers expect from a 1:14 scale platform.

Technical Performance

The Reflex 14B Classic Kit represents the convergence of four decades of Team Associated racing expertise with modern engineering practices. At 1:14 scale, this compact buggy measures just 304mm in length and 202mm in width, yet its fully adjustable suspension geometry, three sealed differentials and variable wheelbase setup allow it to compete effectively across demanding off-road conditions. The moulded tub chassis provides structural rigidity whilst keeping weight low, whilst the variable wheelbase achieved through adjustable caster blocks and rear hub inserts lets you optimise handling for different track layouts. The 2.46:1 internal gear ratio, combined with the platform's overall design, positions the Reflex 14B as a direct competitor to other 1:14 racing buggies, though the depth of adjustment available throughout this kit gives builders genuine performance advantages. When you complete your kit with a suitable brushless motor and modern electronic speed control, you'll have a platform capable of delivering the lap times and handling response that competitive racers demand. The front universal driveshafts and centre driveshaft design ensure smooth, consistent power delivery, whilst the gold-anodised aluminium components provide both the durability to withstand aggressive racing and the aesthetic quality expected of premium RC equipment. Build quality throughout reflects Team Associated's racing pedigree—every fastener is sized appropriately, every bearing surface is engineered for minimal friction, and every moving joint offers the adjustability that transforms a good RC buggy into a genuinely competitive machine.
