Overview

The FTX Servo Horns for Carnage and Vantage models represent essential replacement parts for any RC enthusiast maintaining their 1/10 scale buggy. These servo horns are precision-engineered components designed to connect your servo to the steering linkage, ensuring smooth and responsive steering control on your RC car. Whether you're a seasoned RC hobbyist in the UK or just getting started with your first RC vehicle, having quality spare servo horns on hand is crucial for keeping your model running at peak performance. The FTX Servo Horns - Carnage/Vantage are built to the same exacting standards that have made FTX a trusted name in the RC hobby, offering reliability and durability for both casual weekend bashers and dedicated competitors.

Servo horns are the critical link between your radio control system and your vehicle's steering mechanism. When you move the steering trim on your transmitter, the servo horn translates that signal into precise directional control of your buggy's front wheels. A worn, damaged or bent servo horn can result in poor steering response, difficulty in tuning, or complete loss of directional control on your RC car UK. Having a spare set of OEM FTX servo horns ensures you can quickly get back on the track or trail without waiting for shipping or settling for inferior aftermarket alternatives. These parts are specifically engineered for the FTX Vantage and Carnage models, guaranteeing perfect fitment and compatibility with your existing setup.

RC maintenance and repair are integral parts of the hobby, and keeping genuine spare parts in stock demonstrates a commitment to preserving your investment. The FTX Servo Horns - Carnage/Vantage FTX6247 are ready to run RC spares that deliver the precision and durability expected from quality RC equipment. Whether you need to replace a damaged horn due to crash damage, upgrade for better steering response, or simply maintain a spare parts inventory, these servo horns are an essential addition to any RC enthusiast's workshop.

Key Features

  • OEM FTX Design — These servo horns are manufactured by FTX specifically for the Carnage and Vantage models, ensuring perfect compatibility and fitment without requiring any modification or adaptation to your RC buggy.
  • Durable Plastic Construction — Made from rigid plastic material, these servo horns provide reliable performance whilst remaining lightweight to minimise impact on your vehicle's steering response and servo load during racing or bashing.
  • Fixed Horn Type — These are fixed servo horns rather than adjustable servo savers, providing a direct mechanical connection between your servo and steering linkage for precise, uncompromising steering control that competitive drivers prefer.
  • 25-Tooth Spline Compatibility — The 25-tooth spline design ensures secure attachment to your servo shaft, preventing slipping or rotation during aggressive steering inputs or high-speed manoeuvres on rough terrain.
  • Quick Replacement — These spare horns allow you to rapidly swap out damaged or worn parts without needing to disassemble major components of your RC car, minimising downtime between races or driving sessions.
  • Universal FTX Compatibility — Confirmed compatible with the FTX5533B FTX Vantage 2.0 Brushed Buggy 1/10 4WD RTR and other Carnage and Vantage variants, making them essential spares for any owner of these models.

Technical Performance

The FTX Servo Horns represent precision engineering in miniature form. Constructed from durable plastic material, these horns are designed to withstand the demanding loads placed upon them during aggressive driving. The fixed horn configuration means there is no servo saver mechanism built into the horn itself—instead, all steering force is transmitted directly to the servo, allowing for maximum steering response and precision. This direct-drive approach is particularly favoured by competition drivers who need instantaneous steering feedback. The 25-tooth spline provides a secure mechanical interface with standard servo shafts found on quality RC servos, preventing any rotation or slipping that could compromise steering accuracy. For 1/10 scale RC buggies like the FTX Vantage and Carnage models, the correct servo horn is absolutely critical to maintaining proper steering geometry and response characteristics. The fitment is OEM-spec, meaning these horns are manufactured to the exact specifications that FTX engineers originally designed into the Carnage and Vantage chassis. Whether you're running a ready to run RC buggy or a more advanced custom build, having the correct servo horns ensures your steering system performs as intended, with no binding, excessive play, or servo centering issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What models are these FTX servo horns compatible with? — These servo horns (FTX6247) are specifically designed for FTX Carnage and Vantage models, with confirmed compatibility with the FTX5533B FTX Vantage 2.0 Brushed Buggy 1/10 4WD RTR. If you own other Carnage or Vantage variants, these horns should fit perfectly, but it's always wise to confirm your exact model before ordering.
  • Are these servo horns suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Replacement servo horns are a straightforward spare part that any RC hobbyist can install. There's no technical complexity—it's simply a matter of removing the old horn from your servo shaft and sliding the new one on until the spline teeth fully engage. Even newcomers to RC can handle this task, and it's one of the most basic maintenance skills in the hobby.
  • What is a fixed servo horn and why would I choose one? — A fixed servo horn connects directly to your servo without any intermediate springs or servo savers. This means all steering input from your transmitter is immediately translated into wheel movement, offering maximum steering precision and responsiveness. The alternative is a servo saver horn, which includes a spring that can absorb impacts and reduce load on the servo. For racing or precision driving where steering accuracy is paramount, fixed horns are preferred. For casual bashing where protecting servo longevity from crashes is important, servo savers are better. FTX6247 offers fixed horns, making them ideal for competitive use.
  • How often should I check my servo horns? — Inspect your servo horns regularly during maintenance checks, particularly after crashes or hard driving sessions. Look for cracks, splits, or visible damage to the plastic. If you notice any deterioration, or if your steering feels sloppy or unresponsive, the horn may need replacement. Many RC enthusiasts keep spare horns on hand to minimise downtime.
  • Will these servo horns fit my servo? — These FTX horns are designed for standard servo shafts with 25-tooth splines, which are the most common spline pattern in RC servos. As long as your servo features a 25-tooth spline interface, the horn will fit correctly. FTX servos and most quality aftermarket RC servos use this standard spline pattern.
  • Can I use these horns on other FTX models? — Whilst these horns are specifically listed for Carnage and Vantage models, servo horns from the same generation often fit across multiple FTX models if they use the same servo specifications. However, to avoid fitment issues, it's best to purchase horns that are explicitly listed for your specific model.
