If you're serious about your RC rock crawler and want to upgrade your setup with genuine, high-quality tyres that deliver consistent performance, these are the tyres to choose. The 2.2 inch sizing makes them compatible with a wide range of 1/10 scale rock crawlers, and the dual front/rear specification means you can use the same premium tread design across all four wheels of your vehicle for balanced handling and predictable performance.
RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand the very best in their hobby will appreciate the meticulous engineering and real-world testing that goes into every Pro-Line product. These tyres are trusted by competitors and weekend bashers alike, proving their reliability and performance consistency across different driving styles and conditions.
Key Features
- Extra-Deep Tread Design — The Krawler T/A KX features significantly deeper treads than standard RC tyres, which increases the contact patch and gripping surface available on challenging terrain, allowing your crawler to maintain traction on loose gravel, rocky surfaces and steep inclines that would cause lesser tyres to slip or lose grip.
- Aggressive Independent Tread Blocks — Each tread block operates independently, allowing them to conform individually to the surface beneath them and maintain consistent contact even on highly irregular terrain with rocks, ruts and uneven ground, which translates to superior obstacle-climbing ability and more predictable handling characteristics.
- Massive Sidewall Lugs — The pronounced lugs extending up the sidewalls of the tyres provide additional gripping surfaces and structural support, essential for rock crawling where tyres must grip not just the ground but also vertical rock faces and obstacles, while the sidewall design helps the tyres maintain shape and structural integrity under the demanding lateral forces experienced during technical climbing.
- Front and Rear Compatible — These tyres are designed for use on both front and rear axles, simplifying your spare parts inventory and allowing you to standardise your tyre choice across your entire RC crawler setup for consistent, predictable handling characteristics from all four wheels.
- 2.2 Inch Size — The 2.2 inch diameter makes these tyres compatible with a broad range of popular 1/10 scale rock crawlers and specialist crawling platforms, fitting the most common wheel sizes found on dedicated climbing vehicles and competition-grade crawlers.
Technical Performance
The Pro-Line Krawler T/A KX G8 tyres represent a significant advancement in rock crawling tyre technology, combining proven BF Goodrich design principles with Pro-Line's expertise in 1/10 scale tyre manufacturing. The extra-deep tread pattern is specifically engineered to maximise contact with uneven surfaces, whilst the independent tread block design allows each element to flex and conform to obstacles, providing superior grip compared to more rigid tyre designs. The G8 designation indicates this is an eighth-generation product, representing the culmination of continuous refinement and customer feedback from users throughout Europe and beyond. The 2.2 inch size places these tyres in the standard category for dedicated rock crawlers, offering the balance between ground clearance, turning radius and obstacle-climbing geometry that makes rock crawling such a rewarding RC discipline. The aggressive sidewall lugs distinguish these tyres from general-purpose off-road tyres, providing the additional gripping surface essential for tackling vertical rock faces and overhanging obstacles. For serious rock crawlers who understand that tyres are the critical interface between your carefully tuned suspension and the challenging terrain beneath you, the Krawler T/A KX G8 represents an investment in performance and reliability that will repay you through countless successful climbs and technical sections.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What makes the Krawler T/A KX G8 different from standard RC off-road tyres? — Unlike general-purpose off-road tyres, the Krawler T/A KX is specifically engineered for rock crawling with an extra-deep tread design, aggressive independent tread blocks, and massive sidewall lugs. These features are optimised for climbing rocky terrain rather than high-speed racing, making them the correct choice for dedicated crawlers and technical courses rather than speed-focused applications.
- Can I use these tyres on both front and rear of my crawler? — Yes, these tyres are specifically designed as a front/rear compatible set, meaning you can use them on all four corners of your 1/10 scale crawler. This standardised approach simplifies your spare parts needs and ensures consistent grip characteristics around your entire vehicle.
- What size wheel and rim do I need for these 2.2 inch tyres? — These are 2.2 inch tyres designed for 1/10 scale rock crawlers. You will need 2.2 inch wheels and rims compatible with your specific crawler model. Check your vehicle's documentation or consult with RC specialists in the UK to ensure compatibility with your particular platform.
- How long do these tyres typically last? — Tyre longevity depends on your driving style, the terrain you tackle, and how frequently you use your crawler. Rock crawling is less abrasive than high-speed racing, so these specialist tyres generally offer good longevity. Regular inspection for wear and damage will help you identify when replacement becomes necessary.
- Are these tyres suitable for beginners? — These tyres are specifically designed for rock crawling, a specialised RC discipline that typically appeals to experienced enthusiasts rather than absolute beginners. If you're new to RC and interested in rock crawling, these represent an excellent investment in quality, but you should pair them with proper instruction and guidance as you develop your skills.
- Why is the sidewall design so important on rock crawling tyres? — In rock crawling, tyres must grip not just the ground but also vertical rock faces and obstacles where sidewalls come into contact with the climbing surface. The massive sidewall lugs on the Krawler T/A KX provide additional gripping surface for these scenarios whilst offering structural support to maintain tyre shape under the lateral forces experienced during technical climbing.
