Overview

The ARRMA Pinion Gear 14T MOD 0.5 CNC 2.3mm Bore is a precision engineered replacement pinion gear designed for high-performance RC cars and RC vehicles that demand reliability and accuracy. Whether you're running an ARRMA RC car UK or upgrading your existing setup, this CNC-machined pinion gear is manufactured to exacting standards to ensure smooth power delivery and consistent performance. This component is essential for any RC enthusiast looking to maintain peak performance in their electric RC car or to fine-tune their vehicle's gearing for specific track conditions or driving styles.

Pinion gears are critical drivetrain components in brushless RC cars, acting as the interface between your motor and the main transmission. The 14-tooth configuration of this ARRMA pinion gear provides a balanced approach to acceleration and top speed, making it suitable for a wide range of driving scenarios. Whether you're enjoying weekend bashing sessions, competitive racing, or casual RC car play, having quality spare pinion gears on hand ensures you can maintain optimal performance and quickly swap components when needed.

ARRMA has earned a reputation for manufacturing high-quality RC components and vehicles, and this pinion gear exemplifies that commitment to precision and durability. The CNC machining process ensures dimensional accuracy and consistent tooth profile, which translates to smoother meshing with your spur gear and reduced wear over time. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK looking for genuine ARRMA replacement parts, this pinion gear represents excellent value and genuine peace of mind.

Key Features

  • CNC Machined Construction — This pinion gear is manufactured using computer numerical control machining, which ensures precise dimensional tolerances and consistent tooth geometry that provides smooth engagement with your spur gear and reduces noise and vibration during operation.
  • 14-Tooth Configuration — The 14-tooth count offers a versatile gearing option that balances acceleration with top speed, making this pinion gear suitable for various track conditions and driving preferences across different RC car types and setups.
  • MOD 0.5 Pitch — MOD 0.5 (module 0.5) is a standard gear pitch specification used in modern RC cars, ensuring compatibility with other quality RC components and providing reliable tooth engagement for consistent power transmission.
  • 2.3mm Bore — The 2.3mm shaft bore is engineered to fit securely onto compatible motor shafts, providing a tight fit that prevents slippage whilst remaining easy to install and remove for maintenance or upgrades.
  • Genuine ARRMA Part — As an official ARRMA component bearing the model number Z-ARA-2629, this pinion gear guarantees authenticity and compatibility with ARRMA RC vehicles and systems, ensuring you're getting a genuine product that meets ARRMA's quality standards.

Technical Performance

This ARRMA pinion gear is engineered with precision CNC machining technology to deliver consistent performance in modern brushless RC cars. The MOD 0.5 pitch specification aligns with contemporary RC car standards, ensuring seamless compatibility with quality spur gears and transmission systems found in competitively built RC vehicles. The 14-tooth count provides a middle-ground gearing solution that prevents excessive motor loading whilst maintaining respectable acceleration characteristics, making it ideal for drivers who seek a balanced setup rather than extreme specialisation toward either acceleration or top speed. The 2.3mm bore diameter is designed to interface with standard brushless motor shafts, accommodating the most common motor sizes used in 1/10-scale and similar RC cars. The CNC manufacturing process guarantees that each tooth is cut to identical specifications, eliminating variability that can cause rough operation, premature wear, or power loss through the drivetrain. Whether you're running an electric RC car for recreational bashing or competitive circuit racing, this pinion gear will maintain consistent mesh with your transmission system across extended running sessions, contributing to overall drivetrain reliability and longevity.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a pinion gear and why do I need it for my RC car? — A pinion gear is a small gear that mounts on your brushless motor shaft and transfers rotational power to the larger spur gear in your RC car's transmission. The pinion gear directly affects your vehicle's acceleration and top speed; a smaller tooth count (like this 14T) favours acceleration, whilst a larger tooth count favours top speed. Having quality pinion gears ensures smooth power delivery, reduces drivetrain noise, and maximises the lifespan of your transmission components.
  • Is this ARRMA pinion gear compatible with all RC cars? — No, this pinion gear is specifically designed for ARRMA RC vehicles or other systems using MOD 0.5 pitch gears with a 2.3mm bore. Compatibility depends on your motor shaft diameter and your transmission's spur gear specification. If you're unsure whether this pinion gear will fit your RC car, contact our team of experienced RC enthusiasts for guidance on finding the correct component for your setup.
  • What does MOD 0.5 mean? — MOD 0.5 refers to the module of the gear, which is a measurement of the tooth pitch. MOD 0.5 is a standard specification in modern RC cars and ensures that this pinion gear will mesh correctly with compatible spur gears. The module specification is critical for smooth operation; using mismatched gear pitches will result in rough running, slipping, or damaged teeth.
  • How often should I replace my pinion gear? — Pinion gear replacement intervals depend on usage intensity, driving style, and maintenance habits. Racing drivers may need replacements more frequently than casual bashers. Inspect your pinion gear regularly for signs of wear such as chipped or stripped teeth; if you notice damage, replacement is recommended to prevent transmission damage and ensure smooth operation of your RC car.
  • Why should I buy genuine ARRMA parts? — Genuine ARRMA parts like this pinion gear are manufactured to exacting specifications, ensuring perfect compatibility, consistent quality, and reliable performance. Counterfeit or inferior aftermarket gears can cause rough running, excessive wear, and potential drivetrain failure. Buying authentic components gives you confidence in your setup's reliability.
