Overview

The ARRMA Pinion Gear 13T MOD 0.5 CNC 2.3mm Bore is a precision-engineered replacement pinion gear designed for high-performance RC car applications. This component is an essential part of any serious RC enthusiast's spares collection, particularly if you run ARRMA vehicles or other RC cars UK models that utilise MOD 0.5 pitch gearing. Whether you're a seasoned competitor, a weekend basher, or discovering the world of RC for the first time, having quality replacement gears on hand ensures your RC car UK remains in peak operating condition and ready for action whenever you need it.

Pinion gears are critical drivetrain components that directly affect your vehicle's acceleration, top speed and overall performance characteristics. The 13-tooth configuration provides a balanced setup suitable for a variety of driving conditions and terrains. This particular gear is manufactured to CNC precision standards, ensuring consistency and reliability with every use. With its 2.3mm bore size, this pinion gear is engineered to fit seamlessly into compatible RC car drivetrains, making it an ideal choice for replacement or performance tuning.

ARRMA is a globally recognised brand in the RC hobby, known for manufacturing durable, high-performance remote control vehicles and components that deliver exceptional value. By choosing genuine ARRMA parts like this pinion gear, you're investing in quality that's been proven on tracks and bash courses worldwide. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK seeking reliable replacement gears, this MOD 0.5 pinion offers the precision and durability you need to keep your vehicles performing at their best.

Key Features

  • 13-Tooth Configuration — The 13-tooth count provides a balanced gear ratio that works effectively across various driving styles and terrain types, making this pinion suitable for both competitive racing and recreational bashing with your RC car UK.
  • MOD 0.5 Pitch — This module specification ensures compatibility with other MOD 0.5 components in your drivetrain, allowing seamless integration with matching spur gears and ensuring proper mesh and engagement for smooth power delivery.
  • CNC Manufacturing — Computer Numerical Control precision manufacturing guarantees that each tooth is cut to exact specifications, resulting in superior consistency, reduced wear, and longer operational lifespan compared to standard production methods.
  • 2.3mm Bore — The 2.3mm shaft bore diameter is designed to fit precisely onto compatible motor shafts and drivetrain components, providing secure mounting and eliminating wobble or slippage during operation.
  • OEM Quality Replacement — As a genuine ARRMA component, this pinion gear matches original equipment manufacturer standards, ensuring perfect fitment and performance restoration when replacing a worn or damaged gear.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Pinion Gear 13T MOD 0.5 CNC 2.3mm Bore is engineered with precision and durability at its core. The CNC manufacturing process ensures that every tooth is cut to exact tolerances, eliminating the variance found in standard injection-moulded or stamped gears. This precision translates directly into improved meshing with your spur gear, reducing backlash and energy loss whilst extending the lifespan of both components. The MOD 0.5 pitch specification is widely used across modern RC cars and trucks, particularly in ARRMA's lineup, making this a versatile choice for owners of these vehicles. The 2.3mm bore ensures a tight, secure fit on compatible motor shafts, eliminating the slippage and vibration that can occur with worn or incorrectly sized gears. Built from quality materials and manufactured to exacting standards, this pinion gear represents the kind of component quality that serious RC enthusiasts demand when maintaining and upgrading their vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What vehicles is the ARRMA 13T MOD 0.5 pinion gear compatible with? — This pinion gear is designed for ARRMA vehicles and other RC cars that utilise MOD 0.5 pitch gearing with 2.3mm bore shafts. Check your vehicle's manual or specifications to confirm compatibility before purchasing. If you're unsure whether this gear will fit your particular RC model, we recommend contacting our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop for expert guidance.
  • Why choose CNC-manufactured gears over standard production gears? — CNC-manufactured gears offer superior precision, with each tooth cut to exact specifications rather than moulded or stamped. This precision results in better meshing with your spur gear, less backlash, smoother power delivery, and ultimately a longer operational lifespan for both the pinion and spur gear. For anyone serious about RC performance and reliability, CNC gears represent a worthwhile investment.
  • How often should I replace my pinion gear? — Pinion gear wear depends on usage intensity, driving style, and maintenance. Regular inspection during routine maintenance will reveal excessive wear, chipped teeth, or damage that indicates replacement is needed. High-frequency racers may replace gears more frequently than casual bashers. Always inspect both pinion and spur gears together, as wear often affects both components simultaneously.
  • What is MOD 0.5 and why does it matter? — MOD (Module) refers to the pitch standard of the gear teeth. MOD 0.5 is a commonly used specification in modern RC cars and trucks, particularly in ARRMA's vehicles. The module determines how the pinion meshes with the spur gear; using gears with matching module specifications ensures proper engagement, smooth power delivery, and optimal component lifespan. Mismatched modules will result in poor meshing and accelerated wear.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement component rather than a complete vehicle or starter set. It's best suited for owners who already have an RC car UK that requires this specific gear. Beginners should ensure they understand basic RC maintenance and drivetrain assembly before attempting gear replacement. If you're new to RC maintenance, we recommend consulting your vehicle's manual or contacting our team for guidance.
  • What is the difference between MOD 0.5 and other gear pitches? — Different module specifications (MOD 0.5, MOD 0.6, MOD 0.8, etc.) have different tooth spacing and proportions. Each module is designed for specific applications and vehicles. Using the correct module ensures proper gear mesh, efficient power transfer, and reliability. Mixing different modules will cause poor engagement and component damage.
