Key Features
- 6061-T6 Aluminium Construction — The caster blocks are carefully machined from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminium, one of the most trusted materials in RC applications. This aerospace-grade aluminium alloy provides superior strength and precision compared to plastic components, resulting in improved durability and consistent steering geometry even during aggressive driving and high-speed manoeuvres. The T6 heat treatment ensures optimal hardness and rigidity, which translates to better weight distribution and more predictable handling characteristics.
- Left and Right Pair Included — This package includes both left and right caster blocks, allowing you to upgrade both sides of your vehicle's front suspension simultaneously. This symmetrical upgrade ensures balanced handling and steering response across both wheels, which is essential for consistent lap times and predictable vehicle behaviour during competitive racing or casual driving.
- Orange-Anodised Finish — The brilliant orange anodised finish adds vibrant, eye-catching colour to your RC vehicle whilst providing genuine functional benefits. Anodising is an electrochemical process that creates a hard, corrosion-resistant oxide layer on the aluminium surface. This protective coating extends the lifespan of the components by preventing oxidation and degradation, whilst maintaining the vivid orange colour through countless hours of use and exposure to the elements.
- High-Contrast Laser Etched TRX® Logo — Each caster block features a precision laser etched TRX® logo that creates a striking visual contrast against the orange anodised background. This detail demonstrates the quality craftsmanship and attention to finishing that distinguishes Traxxas components from budget alternatives, whilst helping you identify genuine Traxxas parts at a glance.
- Precision Machining — Every caster block is meticulously machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminium to ensure perfect geometry and dimensional accuracy. This manufacturing process eliminates the casting imperfections and material inconsistencies found in cheaper plastic or die-cast components, resulting in perfectly square mounting surfaces, precise kingpin hole alignment, and consistent performance across the pair.
- #9080 Upgrade Kit Compatibility — These caster blocks are specifically designed for use with the #9080 upgrade kit, which means they integrate seamlessly with other premium upgrade components in that system. This compatibility ensures that all components work together harmoniously, providing optimal performance gains and eliminating the guesswork involved when mixing components from different upgrade packages.
- Improved Steering Response — The rigid aluminium construction significantly reduces flex and deflection in the suspension geometry compared to plastic c-hubs. This means your steering inputs are transmitted more directly to the front wheels, resulting in sharper turn-in response, more predictable cornering behaviour, and ultimately better control during both casual driving and competitive racing situations.
- Enhanced Durability — Aluminium's superior strength-to-weight ratio means these caster blocks can withstand the stresses of aggressive driving, hard landings, and countless hours of use far better than their plastic counterparts. Whether you're jumping your RC vehicle off ramps, driving at high speeds, or pushing the limits of your RC car UK setup, these components provide the durability needed for long-lasting performance.
Technical Performance
These Traxxas caster blocks represent the pinnacle of upgrade component engineering, manufactured to the same exacting standards that Traxxas applies to all its premium components. The 6061-T6 aluminium material is renowned throughout the RC industry for providing the optimal balance of strength, machinability, and weight. Unlike standard plastic c-hubs that can deform under load, flex when cornering hard, or develop play from wear, these aluminium caster blocks maintain precise geometry throughout countless driving sessions. The billet machining process ensures that every dimension is accurate to tight tolerances, which means kingpin holes are perfectly aligned, mounting surfaces are perfectly flat, and the steering geometry remains consistent. The anodised finish provides not only aesthetic appeal but also genuine functional protection—the hard anodised layer resists corrosion from moisture, salt spray, and dirt exposure, whilst being scratch-resistant enough to withstand normal handling and use. For RC enthusiasts in the UK seeking to upgrade their vehicles with components that deliver measurable performance improvements and long-term reliability, these aluminium caster blocks are an investment that pays dividends in both handling response and component longevity. The inclusion of both left and right units ensures balanced performance and eliminates the compromise of upgrading only one side of the vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will upgrading to aluminium caster blocks really improve my RC vehicle's handling? — Yes, upgrading from plastic to aluminium caster blocks will provide noticeable improvements in steering response and cornering predictability. Plastic components flex under load and can develop play from wear, which makes steering feel less responsive and less precise. Aluminium's superior rigidity means your steering inputs are transmitted directly to the front wheels with minimal deflection, resulting in sharper turn-in, more consistent cornering behaviour, and better overall control. This improvement is particularly noticeable during competitive racing where precision and repeatability are crucial, but casual RC enthusiasts will also appreciate the enhanced feel and control during normal driving sessions.
- Are these caster blocks suitable for both racing and bashing? — Absolutely. Whether you're running competitive laps on a track, bashing around your garden, or driving through parks and open spaces, these aluminium caster blocks will enhance your experience. The superior durability means they'll withstand the impacts and stresses of bashing better than plastic alternatives, whilst the precision geometry provides the consistent performance that competitive drivers demand. The orange-anodised finish also resists corrosion and wear, so these components will maintain their appearance and functionality through years of use across both racing and recreational driving.
- Why should I upgrade both left and right caster blocks at the same time? — Upgrading both sides simultaneously ensures your vehicle handles consistently and predictably. If you upgrade only one side, you'll have asymmetrical steering geometry and different stiffness characteristics on each side of the vehicle, which will result in uneven handling and steering bias. This makes the vehicle harder to control and slower around corners because the two sides don't respond identically to your steering inputs. For the small additional investment in upgrading both sides together, you'll gain balanced performance and eliminate handling inconsistencies.
- Will these orange caster blocks fit my specific RC vehicle? — These caster blocks are designed for use with the #9080 upgrade kit system, so compatibility depends on whether your vehicle is compatible with that specific upgrade kit. Check your vehicle's documentation or contact the RC Model Shop team to confirm compatibility before purchasing. These are precision components engineered for specific vehicle platforms, so using them on incompatible vehicles will result in incorrect steering geometry and poor handling characteristics.
- How do the kingpin bushings and screws included compare to stock components? — The package includes kingpin bushings and threadlock-applied screws as part of a complete upgrade system. These components are matched to work optimally with the aluminium caster blocks, ensuring smooth kingpin rotation and secure fastening. The threadlock applied to the screws prevents vibration from loosening fasteners during aggressive driving, which is crucial for maintaining the precise geometry that these premium components provide.
- Is the orange-anodised finish durable? — The anodised finish is extremely durable and long-lasting. Anodising is an electrochemical process that creates a hard oxide layer on the aluminium surface, making it much harder than paint and significantly more resistant to scratches, corrosion, and UV fading. The vibrant orange colour will remain vivid through countless hours of driving, whether you're using your RC vehicle in sunny conditions, wet weather, or at the beach where salt spray exposure is a concern. The anodised finish also provides genuine functional protection, not just aesthetic appeal.
