As the best-selling airliner of all time, the Airbus A320 is in service with many airlines worldwide. The "neo" (New Engine Option) versions feature advanced turbofan engines and wingtip devices known as Sharklets® to benefit from a 20% reduction in fuel burn compared to previous-generation aircraft for additional flight range and extra payload. Officially licensed by Airbus, the E-flite® A320neo Twin 64mm EDF replicates the now-iconic aircraft and features a variety of scale details and functions, including LED landing and navigation lights, flaps, and retractable landing gear. Its twin 64mm EDF power system delivers better-than-scale-like performance plus class-leading flight times with 6S 3200–7000mAh batteries. The "neo" livery and "base white" BNF Basic versions include a factory-installed receiver featuring enhanced AS3X+ technology, which smooths out the effects of wind and turbulence better than ever before. They also feature optional-use SAFE Select technology that makes it even easier to fly, along with motor/thrust reversing to help shorten rollout after landing and provide other special ground handling capabilities. Delivering a unique flying experience with unexpected performance and aerobatic capabilities, the E-flite® Airbus A320neo Twin 64mm EDF is the perfect first or next airliner model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. Its twin 12-blade 64mm fans, high-RPM brushless motors, and 40-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Dual Smart Lite ESC combine with your 6S 3200–7000mAh 30+C LiPo battery to deliver excellent vertical performance and level flight top speeds, plus longer than expected flight times for an EDF model. The Smart ESC provides real-time telemetry data about your power system while you fly, including overall battery voltage and more. It works with Smart and non-Smart batteries when using compatible receivers (like the AR637TA+ in the BNF® Basic versions) and Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters. With a 7–8+ channel transmitter, it also offers optional use motor/thrust reversing to shorten rollout after landing and provide other special ground handling capabilities!
No glue is required for assembly, and the two-piece wing plus separate stabilizers install quickly and easily without tools so the A320neo can be ready to fly in almost no time. The lightweight, composite-reinforced EPO airframe is available factory-finished in Airbus' special "neo" livery that's fully painted with the decals already applied, or in a painted "base white" version with separate window and other decals that allows you to paint and/or add decals to customize the scheme with any airline or other livery you like! The large top hatch and opening have plastic-capped edges for improved durability to prevent damage and paint chipping when installing/removing batteries. Eight factory-installed digital and metal-geared servos with ball-link equipped linkages deliver precise and reliable control at every speed. Already own a SpektrumT transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!
This Bind-N-Fly Basic model is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX¬ receiver featuring AS3X+ (Artificial Stabilization-3-aXis+) technology that works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence. The result is a heightened sense of stability and precision that makes you feel like you're flying a much larger, expertly tuned aircraft.
If this is your first model of its type, or you want an extra margin of safety while familiarizing yourself with the airplane, you can enable the optional-use SAFE¬ Select flight envelope protection technology built into the receiver. No programming is required. Simply change up the binding sequence as directed in the manual.
With SAFE Select enabled, you get:
Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
- These envelope limits keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles.
Automatic Self-Leveling
- The airplane instantly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in the centre position. It's also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.
Easy Switch Assignment-No Complex Programming Required
- The simple procedure for assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off doesn't require any complex programming and takes just a few seconds.
If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, just bind the receiver normally and it will function like a standard AS3X+ receiver.
