Overview

The Radient JR HD Extension Lead with Clip 200mm (RDNAC010211) is an essential servo extension cable for RC hobbyists and professionals across the UK who demand dependable connections in their RC models. Whether you're building a high-performance RC car, updating your RC truck setup, or maintaining a fleet of ready to run RC vehicles, this heavy-duty male-to-female JR servo extension ensures reliable power and signal delivery to your servos. The 200mm length provides excellent flexibility for routing cables through your chassis whilst maintaining secure connections, making it an indispensable spare or upgrade component for any serious RC enthusiast.

Built to exacting standards by Radient, this extension lead combines robust engineering with practical features designed specifically for the demands of RC modelling. The included connector clip is a thoughtful addition that keeps your plugs secure against vibration and movement during high-speed driving or aggressive manoeuvres. This is particularly valuable when you're pushing your RC car, crawler, or truck to its limits, as loose servo connections can cause unpredictable behaviour and compromised control. For anyone investing in quality RC equipment, having spare or additional extension leads of this calibre is a smart decision that provides peace of mind and operational reliability.

With its 60-strand conductor and 22AWG wire specification, this extension lead delivers the consistent performance you need for precise servo control in racing, bashing, or professional RC applications. The brown, red, and orange JR connector configuration is the industry standard for servo connections, ensuring universal compatibility across the vast majority of RC models available in the UK market today.

Key Features

  • 200mm Total Length — The 200mm measurement (including connectors) provides an optimal balance between reach and cable management, allowing you to route the extension lead throughout your RC model's chassis without excessive bulk or tangling.
  • Male to Female JR Connector — The standard JR servo connector configuration ensures compatibility with the vast majority of RC servos, receivers, and control systems commonly used in RC cars, trucks, buggies, and crawlers available throughout the UK.
  • Heavy-Duty 60-Strand Conductor — The 60-strand wire construction provides exceptional durability and flexibility compared to cheaper alternatives, resisting fatigue from repeated bending and vibration whilst maintaining consistent electrical conductivity.
  • 22AWG Wire Gauge — This wire gauge specification delivers efficient power and signal transmission without voltage drop, ensuring your servos respond instantly and accurately to your transmitter commands.
  • 1.5mm Outer Diameter — The slim profile of this extension lead makes it easy to route through tight spaces within your RC model's chassis whilst maintaining the protective insulation.
  • Included Connector Clip — The dedicated connector clip securely holds the lead in place, preventing plugs from loosening due to vibration, impacts, or aggressive driving during bashings or racing sessions. This is a critical feature that prevents mid-race servo disconnections.
  • 2mm Product Diameter — The overall cable diameter is optimised for flexibility and routing ease whilst maintaining structural integrity and shielding.

Technical Performance

The Radient JR HD Extension Lead with Clip 200mm represents excellent engineering for servo connection in RC applications. The 60-strand conductor configuration is specifically chosen to provide superior flexibility and durability compared to single-strand or lower-count alternatives, allowing the cable to be routed through complex chassis designs without kinking or developing internal breaks. The 22AWG wire specification ensures that voltage drop across the 200mm length remains minimal, which is particularly important for servo performance when running multiple servos on a single receiver line. The brown, red, and orange colour coding follows international standards, making it instantly recognisable and simplifying installation for both newcomers and experienced RC builders. The 1.5mm outer diameter provides an excellent balance between protection and flexibility, whilst the 2mm overall cable diameter accommodates the dual conductors (signal and ground) plus the power line required for servo operation. The connector clip accessory is engineered from durable materials and designed to grip standard JR connectors firmly without damaging the connector housing, ensuring your servo connections remain secure through thousands of miles of RC driving, whether you're racing competitively or enjoying casual weekend bashing with your RC truck or buggy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does JR connector mean and is it compatible with my RC model? — JR (also known as Futaba JR standard) is the most common servo connector format used in RC models throughout the UK and globally. If your RC car, truck, buggy, or crawler uses standard Futaba, Spektrum, Hitec, or most other mainstream RC equipment, this extension lead will be fully compatible. The male-to-female configuration means you can extend the distance between your receiver and servo.
  • Why would I need a 200mm servo extension lead? — The 200mm length is ideal for routing servo connections from a centralised receiver location to servos mounted in the front, rear, or sides of your RC chassis. This prevents the need for longer permanent wiring and allows flexibility in servo placement. It's also perfect as a spare lead if your existing connections become damaged.
  • What does the connector clip do and why is it important? — The connector clip holds the JR connector firmly in place, preventing the plug from vibrating loose during aggressive driving. This is essential for reliability; a loose servo connection can cause immediate loss of control in critical steering or throttle servos, potentially resulting in damage to your RC model.
  • Is the 60-strand conductor really better than standard extension leads? — Yes, significantly. The 60-strand construction provides superior flexibility and durability compared to cheaper leads with fewer strands. This means the cable can be bent repeatedly without developing internal fractures, extends the lifespan of the lead, and maintains consistent signal quality throughout its service life.
  • What is 22AWG wire and does it matter? — AWG (American Wire Gauge) indicates the thickness of the conductor; 22AWG is the standard specification for servo leads in RC applications. This gauge provides the optimal balance between current-carrying capacity and flexibility, ensuring your servos receive clean power whilst allowing the cable to be routed easily through tight spaces.
  • Can I use this extension with multiple servos? — Yes, you can connect this extension lead from your receiver to any standard JR servo. However, if you're running multiple servos off a single receiver line (using Y-connectors or series connections), ensure your receiver can provide sufficient current for all servos combined.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Whether you're new to RC cars, RC trucks, or RC buggies, servo extension leads are straightforward to use. Simply plug the male end into your receiver's servo port and the female end into your servo. The included connector clip makes installation even easier by keeping everything secure.
  • What is the difference between this and cheaper extension leads? — This Radient lead distinguishes itself through several factors: the 60-strand conductor resists fatigue better than cheaper alternatives, the included connector clip provides security that budget leads lack, and the 22AWG specification ensures reliable power delivery. These features combine to provide longevity and dependability that justify the investment.
