Overview
The Traxxas Screws 3x5mm countersunk machine (6 pcs) with hex drive (part number TRX2549) are essential replacement fasteners for RC enthusiasts across the UK who maintain and repair their remote-controlled vehicles. Whether you're a dedicated racer fine-tuning your RC car UK setup, a weekend basher keeping your model in top condition, or a serious hobbyist who demands quality components, these genuine Traxxas screws are the perfect solution for securing critical parts on your RC models. Traxxas is recognised worldwide as a leader in RC vehicle manufacturing, and their fasteners are engineered to the same exacting standards as their vehicles, ensuring reliability and longevity in demanding conditions.
These countersunk machine screws are specifically designed to work seamlessly with Traxxas RC models and compatible platforms. The countersunk head design ensures a flush finish when installed, preventing snags and maintaining the aerodynamic profile of your RC vehicle. With a robust construction and precision manufacturing, these screws are built to withstand the vibrations, impacts and stresses that come with aggressive RC driving, whether you're racing on a track, bashing through rough terrain, or competing in organised events. For anyone serious about maintaining their RC hobby investments, having a stock of quality replacement screws is essential.
Key Features
- M3 Machine Thread — The M3 (3mm) metric thread size is a standard specification for Traxxas RC vehicles and many compatible RC platforms, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of chassis, suspension components and body mounts across different RC models in your collection.
- 3x5mm Dimensions — The precise 3mm diameter and 5mm length make these screws ideal for securing lightweight components where space is limited, such as servo arms, linkages, suspension brackets and electronic mounting plates on RC cars and buggies.
- Countersunk Head Design — The countersunk profile sits flush with the mounting surface when installed, eliminating protruding fastener heads that could catch on obstacles, interfere with moving parts, or compromise the clean aesthetic of your RC vehicle's construction.
- Hex Drive Socket — The integrated hex drive socket accepts standard metric hex keys (Allen keys) for easy installation and removal, making assembly and maintenance straightforward for RC enthusiasts of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned competitors.
- Black Finish — The professional black colour coating provides corrosion resistance and a finished appearance that complements both plastic and metal components on modern RC vehicles, whilst protecting the steel fasteners from rust and oxidation over time.
- Machine Thread Construction — Unlike self-tapping screws, machine threads require a pre-drilled hole with matching threading, providing superior holding power and preventing thread stripping in critical applications where reliability is paramount for RC performance.
- Pack of Six — The generous six-piece quantity ensures you have adequate spares for replacement, repair and maintenance of your RC fleet without running short during active driving sessions or mid-repair situations.
- Genuine Traxxas Component — As official Traxxas OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, these screws meet the exact specifications and quality standards of Traxxas vehicles, guaranteeing fitment and performance with complete confidence.
Technical Performance
These Traxxas fasteners represent precision engineering in miniature form, manufactured to exacting tolerances that ensure reliable performance in the demanding environment of RC motorsport. The M3 machine thread construction provides superior clamp force and resistance to vibration-induced loosening compared to alternative fastening methods, critical when driving at speed or over rough terrain. The countersunk head profile minimises aerodynamic disruption and prevents snagging on track barriers, terrain features or other RC vehicles during competitive racing or casual bashing. The black finish is applied through a durable coating process that provides long-term corrosion resistance, particularly important if you're running your RC models in wet conditions or storing them for extended periods. The hex drive socket accepts standard metric hex keys in sizes commonly found in RC tool kits, making these screws compatible with the accessories already in your RC hobby toolbox. Whether you're maintaining a brushless RC car, upgrading suspension geometry on your RC buggy, or simply replacing worn fasteners that have backed out through vibration, these screws deliver the reliability and precision that Traxxas is known for throughout the RC community.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Traxxas RC models are these screws compatible with? — These M3 countersunk machine screws are used across numerous Traxxas RC vehicles for securing suspension components, servo linkages, body mounts and electronic mounting brackets. Compatibility varies by specific model, but M3 fasteners are standard throughout the Traxxas range. Check your vehicle's manual or contact our team if you're unsure whether these are the correct replacement for your particular model.
- Why would I need replacement screws for my RC car? — During normal RC driving, vibrations and impacts can cause fasteners to loosen and occasionally fall out, particularly in high-vibration areas like servo mounts and suspension brackets. Additionally, corrosion from water exposure, stripped threads from over-tightening, or simple wear over extended use can necessitate replacement screws. Keeping spare fasteners on hand is essential maintenance practice for any RC enthusiast.
- Do these screws require pre-drilled holes? — Yes, these are machine thread screws, not self-tapping variants. They require a pre-drilled hole of approximately 2.5mm diameter with M3 threading. If threading is not present, you'll need to either tap the hole with an M3 threading tool or use a slightly smaller pre-drilled hole and accept slightly higher installation torque. Never force a machine screw into an unthreaded hole as this will strip the threads.
- What size hex key do I need? — These hex drive screws require a 2mm metric hex key (Allen key) for installation and removal. Most RC maintenance kits include this size, but if you don't have one, they're inexpensive and widely available at RC retailers across the UK.
- Are these genuine Traxxas parts? — Yes, these are official Traxxas OEM fasteners sourced directly from authorised distributors. Genuine Traxxas components guarantee correct fitment and performance with your RC vehicles.
- How many should I buy? — One pack of six screws is suitable for replacing a few worn fasteners or making minor repairs. If you're rebuilding multiple vehicles or stocking a maintenance kit, consider purchasing several packs to ensure you never run short during an active RC season.
