Technical Performance

The Futaba R2006GS represents a pinnacle of miniaturised receiver engineering, combining advanced radio frequency technology with aerospace-grade component selection to deliver exceptional performance in demanding aerial environments. The receiver's architecture prioritises reliability and signal integrity, with sophisticated auto-detection circuitry that seamlessly identifies whether your paired transmitter is operating in S-FHSS or legacy FHSS mode, automatically configuring itself accordingly without user intervention. This intelligent approach to protocol management means the receiver works reliably whether paired with contemporary S-FHSS systems or older established FHSS transmitters, making it a future-proof investment that bridges multiple generations of Futaba radio equipment.

The dual antenna design employs diversity reception principles commonly found in professional aviation and telecommunications, whereby the receiver continuously monitors signal strength from both antennas and automatically selects the antenna with superior reception quality at any given moment. This approach virtually eliminates the signal dropouts and glitches that can occur with single-antenna designs, particularly during manoeuvres that may momentarily orient the aircraft in attitudes that compromise antenna orientation. The wide operating voltage range of 4.8V to 7.4V demonstrates exceptional voltage regulation and filtering, allowing the receiver to maintain consistent performance even as battery voltage naturally decays during a flight session, ensuring predictable control response from takeoff through to landing.

At just 8.5 grams and engineered to dissipate just 80 milliamps of current during normal operation, the R2006GS sets new standards for efficiency in the 6-channel receiver category. The compact physical dimensions of 25 × 43 × 9 millimetres make this receiver genuinely suitable for installation in models where space is at a premium, from sleek aerobatic competition aircraft to high-performance sailplanes where every millimetre and every gram contributes directly to performance. The receiver is finished in professional black, which aids in heat dissipation and provides a neat aesthetic appearance within the fuselage of your aircraft model.
