Key Features
- CNC-Machined 7075 Aluminium Construction — This hex adapter is manufactured from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminium, one of the strongest and most durable aluminium alloys available. CNC machining ensures perfect precision and flawless tolerances, meaning each adapter is produced to exacting standards with zero deviation. This material choice and manufacturing method means the adapter will withstand the shock loads, impacts, and stresses of serious RC driving without deformation or failure.
- 17mm Hex Interface — The 17mm hex standard is a widely recognised interface for 1/10 scale RC vehicles, ensuring compatibility with a vast range of wheels and hub systems. This size offers the perfect balance between structural strength and weight efficiency, making it ideal for both racing and recreational driving. The hex interface is precisely machined to ensure a tight, wobble-free fit with compatible wheels.
- Designed for 6mm Shaft Compatibility — This adapter is engineered to work exclusively with the Vitavon Laser Nut Axle kit featuring 6mm shafts, ensuring perfect fitment and eliminating any compatibility guesswork. The 6mm shaft specification is a popular standard in 1/10 scale buggies, providing an excellent balance between strength and weight. This dedicated compatibility means you get a purpose-built component rather than a universal adapter that might not fit perfectly.
- 12mm Wheel Hole Fitment — The adapter accommodates wheels with a 12mm centre hole, which is a standard size for 1/10 scale RC buggies and crawlers. This specification ensures you can use a wide variety of aftermarket wheels from different manufacturers, giving you excellent flexibility when customising your vehicle's appearance or performance characteristics.
- Dual Colour Options — Available in both silver and red finishes, this adapter allows you to match your vehicle's colour scheme or add a custom touch to your build. The red and silver options give you flexibility to create a cohesive look with your Laser Nut or to contrast your wheel and axle setup for visual impact.
- Versatile Vehicle Compatibility — While designed for the Laser Nut platform, this adapter is versatile enough for use across multiple vehicle types including buggies, crawlers, drift cars, scale trucks, and short-course trucks. This versatility makes it a valuable component for anyone with multiple 1/10 scale vehicles in their collection who wants to maintain consistency across their fleet.
Technical Performance
The engineering quality of the VITAVON LaserNut CNC Alu#7075 17mm Hex Adapter is immediately evident in every detail. The use of 7075 aluminium—an alloy commonly found in aircraft applications and competition motorsport—demonstrates VITAVON's commitment to producing components that can handle serious driving. This particular alloy offers superior strength compared to standard 6061 aluminium while maintaining excellent machinability, which is why it's favoured for precision-engineered parts like this hex adapter. The CNC machining process ensures that every adapter produced is identical, with perfectly concentric tolerances and flawlessly finished surfaces. When you're driving your RC buggy at speed or navigating challenging terrain, the last thing you need is a weak link in your drivetrain. This adapter eliminates that concern. The 17mm hex interface is a proven standard in 1/10 scale racing, and when combined with a proper 6mm shaft setup, it creates a robust connection capable of handling the torque loads from modern brushless motors. The adapter's design specifically accommodates wheels with 12mm holes, which is the industry standard for 1/10 scale vehicles, ensuring compatibility with popular wheels from manufacturers across the UK and worldwide. Whether you're running a stock Laser Nut or a heavily modified competition build, this adapter represents a genuine quality upgrade that will outlast softer aluminium alternatives and provide years of reliable service.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will this hex adapter fit my Losi Laser Nut RC buggy? — Yes, this adapter is specifically engineered for the Losi Laser Nut 1/10 scale platform when used with the Vitavon Laser Nut Axle kit featuring 6mm shafts. It accommodates wheels with a 12mm centre hole, which is the standard for this platform. If you're unsure about your specific setup, contact our team at RC Model Shop for compatibility confirmation.
- What is the difference between 7075 aluminium and other grades used in RC parts? — 7075 aluminium is an aerospace-grade alloy that offers superior strength and durability compared to standard 6061 aluminium commonly used in budget components. While 7075 is harder and more expensive to machine, it resists deformation under load far better than softer alternatives, making it ideal for high-performance applications where reliability is critical. For serious RC drivers and competitors, 7075 components justify the investment through longevity and performance.
- Can I use this adapter with wheels from different manufacturers? — As long as your wheels feature a 12mm centre hole, they will be compatible with this adapter. The 12mm standard is widely used across 1/10 scale RC buggies, so you should have excellent options from leading manufacturers. Always verify your wheel specifications before purchase to ensure compatibility.
- Is the CNC machining process important for hex adapters? — Absolutely. CNC machining ensures that every adapter is produced with identical tolerances and flawless precision. This means zero runout when installed, perfect concentricity, and consistent quality across every unit. Hand-machined or cast alternatives may have slight variations that can cause vibration or uneven wear, whereas CNC-produced components like this guarantee uniform performance.
- What colour should I order? — This adapter is available in silver (the default option) or red. If you want a colour different from silver, simply confirm your colour preference when you receive your order confirmation. This allows you to match your vehicle's colour scheme or create a contrasting look based on your preference.
- How do I install this adapter on my Laser Nut? — Installation is straightforward: slide the adapter onto your 6mm shaft, ensure it's fully seated, and then slide your wheel hub onto the hex interface. Tighten securely according to your vehicle's manual. The precision engineering of this VITAVON adapter ensures a perfect fit without wobbling or play.
