Overview

The ARRMA Pinion Gear 26T MOD 0.5 CNC 3.2mm Bore is a precision-engineered replacement transmission component designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and performance from their brushless RC cars. Whether you're running an ARRMA 1/16 Mini Kraton, 1/16 MOJAVE GROM, or 1/14 TYPHON GROM, this CNC-machined pinion gear provides the exact specifications your RC vehicle needs to maintain optimal drivetrain efficiency. For UK RC car owners looking to upgrade, maintain, or customise their ARRMA models, this genuine OEM part represents the perfect solution to keep your RC buggy or monster truck performing at its peak.

This 26-tooth pinion gear is manufactured to exacting standards by ARRMA, a brand recognised globally for producing high-quality brushless RC vehicles and components. The gear is compatible with a 3.2mm motor shaft, making it suitable for the motors found in contemporary ARRMA ready-to-run RC buggies and trucks. Whether you're a competitive racer, a weekend basher, or a dedicated hobbyist maintaining your fleet, having the correct pinion gear specification is essential for smooth acceleration, consistent power delivery, and longevity of your transmission system.

Choosing the right pinion gear tooth count directly influences your RC car's performance characteristics. The 26T configuration offers a balanced approach to gearing, suitable for varied driving conditions and terrain types. This is the ideal replacement part for ARRMA owners seeking to restore their vehicle to factory specifications or those looking to fine-tune their drivetrain setup for specific racing conditions across the UK RC community.

Key Features

  • CNC Precision Machining — This pinion gear has been manufactured using computer numerical control (CNC) technology, which ensures absolute precision in tooth profile geometry and bore dimensions, resulting in seamless meshing with your spur gear and smooth, quiet operation without binding or slipping.
  • Durable Steel Construction — The gear is crafted from strong steel material that withstands the extreme stresses of brushless motor acceleration and high-speed driving, providing long-lasting performance even under demanding bashful conditions or competitive racing scenarios.
  • 26-Tooth Configuration — The 26-tooth design delivers a carefully balanced gear ratio that works across multiple ARRMA models, offering reliable acceleration and top-speed characteristics suitable for general-purpose RC driving, bashful circuits, and recreational use.
  • MOD 0.5 Gear Pitch — This modulus specification ensures compatibility with ARRMA's standard spur gears and drivetrain components, maintaining precise mesh tolerance and allowing for efficient power transfer from your brushless motor to the wheels.
  • 3.2mm Bore Diameter — The bore is precisely sized to fit standard ARRMA brushless motors featuring a 3.2mm shaft, ensuring a secure fit without wobble or lateral movement that could compromise performance or cause premature wear.
  • Includes M3 x 4mm Set Screw — Each gear comes complete with the necessary M3 x 4mm set screw, which locks the pinion onto your motor shaft and prevents any slippage during hard acceleration or high-throttle driving.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Pinion Gear 26T MOD 0.5 CNC 3.2mm Bore represents genuine OEM engineering designed specifically for ARRMA's brushless RC vehicle platform. The precision-manufactured tooth profile ensures smooth engagement with your spur gear, minimising backlash and maximising power transfer efficiency from your brushless motor to the driven wheels. Steel construction provides exceptional durability under the rigorous demands of RC driving, whether you're bashing on rough terrain, competing in timed courses, or enjoying recreational runs at your local RC track. The CNC manufacturing process guarantees that every gear meets ARRMA's exacting tolerances, meaning tooth depth, spacing, and bore concentricity are held to strict specifications that prevent binding, noise, and premature wear. The 26-tooth count paired with MOD 0.5 pitch specification works in concert with standard ARRMA spur gears to deliver balanced performance across the RPM range of modern brushless motors commonly found in 1/16 and 1/14 scale RC buggies and trucks. Whether you're replacing a worn original gear or optimising your drivetrain configuration, this component maintains the engineering integrity that ARRMA is recognised for throughout the UK RC hobby community.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What ARRMA models does this 26T pinion gear fit? — This gear is compatible with the ARRMA 1/16 Mini Kraton 3S, 1/16 MOJAVE GROM 223S, and 1/14 TYPHON GROM 223S models, including various colour variants with and without batteries and chargers. Confirm your specific model variant before purchasing to ensure fitment.
  • How does pinion gear tooth count affect my RC car's performance? — Pinion tooth count directly influences your RC vehicle's gear ratio and thus its acceleration and top speed characteristics. A 26T pinion is considered a mid-range option that balances acceleration with top speed, making it suitable for general-purpose driving, weekend bashing, and recreational use without extreme focus on either speed or torque.
  • Why would I need to replace my pinion gear? — Pinion gears can wear over time through normal use, particularly the teeth which gradually flatten through constant meshing with the spur gear. If you notice slipping during hard acceleration, increased noise from the drivetrain, or visible tooth damage when inspecting your transmission, it's time to replace your pinion gear with a fresh ARRMA original component.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, this is an excellent replacement part for RC car owners of all experience levels. If you already own a compatible ARRMA RTR vehicle, replacing a worn pinion gear is a straightforward maintenance task. However, installation does require basic mechanical skills and appropriate tools to remove and install the motor assembly.
  • What motor shaft size does this gear require? — This pinion gear features a 3.2mm bore, meaning it is designed exclusively for ARRMA brushless motors with a 3.2mm diameter shaft. Do not attempt to force this gear onto motors with different shaft sizes, as this will damage both the gear and motor.
  • Do I need any additional parts to install this pinion gear? — The set screw is included, which is the primary fastener you'll need. You will need a small hex key (likely 2.0mm or 2.5mm depending on the set screw type) to tighten it securely onto your motor shaft. A motor stand or vice to hold the motor during installation is also recommended for safety and convenience.
